ActionScript 3.0 :: Recording User Name And Id Number?

I have a quiz that, on completion, I need the user to be able to enter their name and user id (already generated externally) which is then passed to either a database or an email is sent to a pre-determined address to log that they have completed the quiz.
I'm guessing that when the above has been done, the playhead could move to a frame that gives them a confirmation and closing message. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to achieve this?

This isn't another one of those "How can I record audio in the browser?" questions... I know that the HTML5 Stream API is around the corner and Flash can already access the user's microphone and camera. I'm simply wondering, as a Javascript developer with little knowledge of Flash, if anyone has developed a JS library that hooks into Flash's device capabilities for recording but sends the results back to javascript (presumably using ExternalInterface).
In other words... libraries like SoundManager2 utilize a Flash fallback for audio playback, but they don't seem to allow for recording. Has anyone written a JS library that uses an invisible Flash movie to allow audio recording?

i have build a small test app in Flash Pro 5.5 overlayed with the AIR 3 sdk.is has just 2 buttons to record and playback audio from the microphone. when i test this on my iPhone 3g - i record myself saying "1-2-3-4-5". but when i playback a half a second or so is missing from the beginning : "3-4-5-".
when i test this on the desktop all is fine is this a result of the iPhone 3g's cpu power or is it a bug or is it my code?

The code that I have is meant to validate that the user doesnt enter the same number more then once (e.g. 12,2,3,4,5,12), and that they dont enter numbers out of the range 1 to 49 (e.g. 12,4,32,34,66,17). What code do I need to add do that they HAVE TO enter 6 numbers? So they cannot just enter say one number and press the 'submitButton' and it will work. Also with my code as soon as the 'submitButton' is pressed it just goes to frame 12, without doing the validation.

I have a message and its visible property is false how can i make it so it becomes true when the user types anything but a number. So there input textfield and a send button if the user types hello when they click send i want the message to become true. How would you do it? restrict?

I'm trying to do a check to see if the user inputed a number into an input text field. I'm also running a check to see if the user has left the input blank (which works just fine), but I can seem to get the NaN function working.
(using actionscript 2.0 w/ flash CS3)

I'm in the process of creating an application in AS3 where the user can arrange a number of display objects (move/rotate/scale/...) in a container.When the objects are added and arranged in the manner the user prefers I would love to have a button that 'captures' a part of the screen and returns an imagefile (JPEG?, BMP?) that can be used for example in MS Word.

I am having a really frustrating problem with creating 2 random numbers. When I run the program, everything works fine, until I hit my object and go to the screen "math". Once there, all it shows is one number in one of the 2 boxes. Below is the code used to generate the numbers. I used the "trace" command to see if it was actually generating the numbers, and it is. The problem seems to be with pushing that number into the variable and displaying it to the user.

I have a uiloader component that loads in images, there's a back button and a next button. Im trying to hide the back button when the user is viewing image number 1. The problem is when the site loads the back button is visible even though the source is image 1. If you cycle through the images to image 1 then it disappears? why?

I am working on an application in which i have put one Multi line input text box. I want to allow user to enter data only up to 8 Lines. User can not enter more than 8 lines. So is there any solutions..??? I dont want to use MaxChars as it can restrict user to not enter more than predefined number of characters. I want to restrict user from entering more than predefined number of lines.

Im trying to build a a small viewer that will allow the user the ability to scroll through a certain number of thumbnails. I'm having trouble on how to go about this. I haven't used flash or actionscript 3 in quite a while so Im pretty rusty when it comes to perspective on how to go about this. I basically want the user to interact with a scroll bar (up and down) to move through a certain number of thumbnail pictures (125 x 125).

We have a sort of game, generated with Flash in AS3, on our website where the reader is invited to eliminate the California Budget Deficit. It's connected to a database where we keep track of the responses and print them in chart form and post the results on the website so everyone can see the most popular budget items the readers want to cut.

We've had many, many requests to have an option where the reader can get a copy of his/her choices that he/she can print out. I've thought about having a movieclip pop up that shows those choices (and that would be simple enough), but in addition to that, what I'd really like to do is have a way to download those choices to the reader's computer as a text file or maybe have a "Print" button on the movieclip showing the choices that would print just that movieclip. The database we have wouldn't really be suitable because it's set up to simply show which were chosen and which not, and the names of the submissions and choices are variables that don't really mean anything except to us when we put it all in an excel file.

Inside my code i have some variables declared as Numbers, and i get some others from an external source; these variables can either be Numbers or String representation of Numbers. Now, i have to implement some equality controls on these variables, and since i don't know in that moment which type are them of, i'm converting all of them to Numbers (i don't need and neither want to compare strings) via the Number() function which accepts either Numbers or Strings as an input. I have some text that says go to page with a input textfield box and a go button. This is a flash cs4 file.I want to have the user input the page number and have it go to that frame.I am using actionscript 3.0 and have bought 4 books and researched online and still can't find what I am looking for.I can make the go button go to whatever page I want I just don't know how to get the information the user put in the box.
