ActionScript 3.0 :: Softwares To Create Youtube Style Annotations?
Jun 17, 2011
I'm working on a guitar tutorial website where users can select parts of a song, then write an explanation of how to do that guitar technique. The explanation will pop up, like a youtube style annotation whenever someone plays that song. It's like the youtube video annotations, except exclusive to guitar lessons:When someone plays a song, the annotations get displayed in real time.-There will be 3 sql databases: user information (ex. email, password, etc...), song meta information (ex. song name, length of song, etc...), annotation information and content (ex. annotation start and end time (to queue when the analysis/annotation should be displayed), etc...). The flash gui will interact with all databases.There's a lot of options out there (Adobe flash CS5, flex, flash builder), what are the differences between the three?
I have a lightbox-style HTML dialog that shows a menu on top of a web page. It can be injected into any web page via a JavaScript bookmarklet.
One of my users is trying to use it on YouTube.com with the result that the flash movie is rendered on top of the dialog (a div with high z-index).I can't reproduce this. It works just fine for me. The dialog shows up on top of everything else on youtube.com, the video included.I had him save the page in Safari as Webarchive and send it to me. Even that shows the menu rendered correctly for me.
I use the exact same version of Safari (4.0.5/531.22.7) and Flash (10.1 r53, latest beta). Only difference I could find is that he uses Snow Leopard (10.6.6) and I "only" 10.5.8.
I have an FLV component and I wanted to create a huge PLAY button in the middle of the screen so if the video doesn't start automatically a user can click on it and it fades out. If the video stalls a user can click on it again and start the video.I would like it to be arranged as follows:1.play_btn fades in on the startMY PROBLEM: I did it it works, but not sure if it is an optimal solution. I did not assign any function as this way tween starts automatically. Or it is better to assign something like ON_START or ON_LOAD and not sure what is the proper function.
2.If the video starts to play on its own without a user clicking a play button it should dissapear and if the video stops it should appear.MY PROBLEM: Presently I achieved it to fade out on the click, but it stays on the screen unless I am to click on it. If I make background of the button to the size of the video then when a video stops and a user just clicks somewhere around on the screen he hits an invisible play button and video resumes. The button does not come up if the video stops..Extra special desire. If a user clicks on the video then it is paused and a button changes to a pause symbolMY PROBLEM: This third option may be too complicated for me with all "if" statements, but if not too much to ask would like to see how it can be done.here is the code I was able to come up with:
var play_btn_Tween:TweenMax = TweenMax.from(play_btn, .5, {alpha:0}); play_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick_Play); function onClick_Play(event:MouseEvent) :void {
I hope this is the right place to ask my question. OK, I need a list of softwares that can play FLV on my computer, and I mean just play FLV in the software, not through web browser. For I have seen a lot of people asking this question on the Internet, I'm interested in it, too. I know Realplayer cannot play FLV, so please don't say Realplayer again, It's a stupid question, I know. I think you Flash gurus must know the answer.
I'm looking to add(and remove, dynamically) text annotations to the PlotChart. Specifically I want to annotate plot points in the chart. I'm currently using the CircleItemRenderer for the points.I've found tutorials for other plot types, but they don't seem to apply to the PlotChart.
I had developed BarCharts with annotations. Each bar is a one bar chart(displaying in attached jpeg). But i need total in one barchart with 4 bar series and annotations like a black line displaying in the middle (like,as shown in attached jpeg )http:[url]....Data is comming from the server and need plot into the charts,
I need to know how i could create a flash player like youtube ....I want build a web site in which upload videos and play them with a my personal player.maybe i must learn actionscript 3 language, but is there a prompt code to utilize and modify according to my taste?
I have 2 Y-axis on the chart and I am trying to use annotationElement's localToData to get the data points associated with a Point on the chart.
The annotation Element is able to return a set of values for the point ( 1 Y - data, 1 -x data), But it is returning the values against one axis and not the other.
Is there a way to associate the annotation element with a specific axis ?
I am at uni and have a project to create an interactive game for the story Johnny Mnemonic. I would like to create a game whereby the player has a whip type weapon, there is an opponent jumping up and down and with the whip you attack them and cut off limbs -
I'm thinking it would be like a simple shooting ducks style game in terms of coding, the player has visible just a hand with the whip in it, you move the whip to your desired location click chosen button to hit, the whip then animates a flick, if it hits correct spot on bouncing opponent then an animation of the limb flying off happens, so the bouncing opponent is like the duck and the whip like the gun - if that is right at all?
My application's creationComplete="onInit()" has a lot of processing. Therefore I want to mask the entire application with a lightbox-style loading screen while the processing is being handled. The screen should be dark and a loading animation image in the center. After onInit() is completed the loading screen is removed.My thoughts are to add a UIComponent to the stage, and to remove it at the end of onInit().
Any good demo or tutorial on creating a hollywood style spotlight effect? 2 soft edged rays pointing down towards a 'floor' and criss crossing each other.
I saw this tutorial and it works great in actionscript 3.0 on its own - http:[url].... .But does anyone know to make something like this in actionscript 2.0? The reason being is my main site was created in 2.0 and cannot publish it in 3.0.
Im attempting to make a create your own art work style piece in flash. Ive designed it out so that you first select one of 3 buttons to select which vase you wish to use as a base. However the next set of buttons relate to the colour of that object, so there are 4 options (blue, red, pink and brown) and the user selects one from clicking the appropriate button.
However im strugling to figure out how i would know which of the first options (which vase) the user has selected in the first place. Is there some kind of time line trick or script that i could use to sort this out???

I still want the menu to scroll and have the rollover effects like a mac computer, but not have the whole menu scale..just the one Im rolling over and the two on the sides of that one...
I am curious how I would go about creating a headline ticker that would have a 3d look? I am trying to make it look like a drum roller. The part I am having trouble with is the dynamic text and how to give it a 3d look.
I would like to create an AJAX style pop up to present photos from a flash movie. I found a tutorial, but it didn't work for me. I'm trying to trigger it off the gerURL function of a button, but nothing popups. I have verified that a simple link in <a> from the html page the flash movie is on works fine, so it's just the call from flash itself.
I want to create a custom video player to modify the skin of the play controls etc but still host the videos on youtube.The youtube api allows for minor colour adjustments but not full customisation. I know it would be possible if I download the FLVs but i want the video to remain hosted on youtube.
I have trying to use this sample FLA from google to embed youtube videos in my flash doc but, when I publish the file it comes up blank with no errors.
I wanted to know if this is possible. On my site I want to play youtube videos from my account from youtube. Basically, there will be an empty text box. Users will type in some text. Click on a button to search and play a random video based off tags associated with a video from my youtube account with the words from the text box? And if they did the same search it wouldn't play the same video again?
Is there any way I can create a slider on my desktop to access some of the controls of the YouTube Video player like volume, pause, play, playback speed? I know it is a flash player, but would this involve accessing the YouTube API or something else? For example, I'd like to program something similar to what's provided by the Enounce MySpeed application (control over play back speed).
I've got a comboBox component on the stage, instance name 'combo'. I want to style the text. I followed the adobe instructions, but they seem not work, and I get no errors.
Code: import fl.data.DataProvider; import flash.text.TextFormat; var tf:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
I'm trying to create a "floating" style navigation similar to the link below but WITHOUT and 3D effect. Just text/navigation that is floating and reacting ever so slightly to the xmouse/ymouse and maybe scaling on rollover or something...I don't know where to start...
anyone have a tutorial or link that has something similar in effect?[URL]..and also the "solutions" section of this site, although this doesn't really interact with xmouse/ymouse[URL]..
and here is another that uses imagery and full screen...[URL]..
