View 4 RepliesI have a Flash movie that uses three scenes. In scene one I have a button with some actionscript to take it to a frame label in that first scene and play the movie from that point on. It works fine. The problem is, in the third scene, I am trying the same action with a different button, going to a different frame label in that third scene. I am getting an error saying the frame label does not exist in that scene. Even though it does! I've checked for typos and everything looks fine. I've copied and pasted the simple actionscript from the third scene below. Is there a line I need to add to make this work in a scene that is not the first scene?

I have a movieclip playing and when I click a certain button I want the movieclip to first play an "outro" animation (which is also inside the movieclip) then go to the real target of the button. For example, I am at the Homepage of my website then I click on the Contact button. The homepage will first go to Homepage's outro animation then go to the Contact page. I need the button to recognize the page/clip being played and the page it will go to.

So say we have two menus, when you are on menu 1 and you click the button for menu 2, a short movie clip plays and then you stop on menu 2. I realise I can do this by putting the movie clip on the main scene timeline, but is there anyway i can put it on the button? I think the action script would be something along the lines of "On release play MovieClip and goto frame X" As i said i want the movie to play as an almost filmic transition between menus, with a fade up and then out (Have got that bit sussed using the alpha controls)

When you click another button it currently resets itself - BUT - I want it to go to and play frame "mouse_out" and than reset itself. Below is the code I am currently working wtih:

But I'm not getting it to work correctly.

I have a button that is loaded into my main movie at level 2. in my main movie on the timeline I have a frame label called guestbook. I want my button, when released to go to trigger the frame label. on my button i have the script:

Obvously this does not work because it references the wrong timeline so i tried:
on (release) {
_parent.gotoAndStop("guestbook");
}
thinking that somehow it would see the parent swf and work - haha - me and my dumb ideas of course it doesnt work.do you know how i can get it to work. Perhaps i should mention that the button that loads in at level 2 is inside a movie clip (for reasons of animation)
I have an intropage with two mc buttons that resides in another mc. They are for an English and a Dutch part. So when I click on either one of them, they go to the "Home" label (frame 2). But now at the same time when the main timeline goes to "Home" I want the movieclip container that contains 6 buttons (The English or Dutch ones) to be visible false or true when I click on one or the other. As a part of the code will show some of you there must be an 1119 error that I can't figure out. It has to do with the FrameLabel that is supposedly undifined. [code]If i remove the if statement and just put the visible statement that also gives an error.But maybe the conflict could be that btnTxtFrameN_mc nor btnTxtFrameE_mc exist on the first frame where I wrote the code and only appear as from label "Home" (second frame)

View 3 RepliesI made this movie in actionscript 2 and it needs a trigger. I have a counter, an integer called totalcount, and when that totalcount reaches 9, the program should jump to another scene.So I tried to put following code into the main timeline:

But even though I put a dynamic textbox on the stage with variable name totalcount, it works but it is never triggered.

View 2 RepliesI have searched, and maybe I am searching wrong.. but I cant seem to find the same situation I am looking for. I have a "Home" scene that if I can explain it right by listing the individual frames.... would play like this:
frames 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 (then stop automatically.... then after the "ART" button was clicked .. it would continue and play like so) 11,12,13,14,15 then at frame 20 it would go to the "ART" scene
I am sure most figured it out that I have an intro scene.. that essentially builds the page and finishes at frame 10. And when a button is pressed.. it would play my Transition (which is just the same frames copied and reversed) ... and then go to the desired scene. So far I have it stopping at frame 10, that works smoothly.. but I dont know where or how or what to do to make a certain button play to the end then to go a specific scene.

I am trying to have a button change frames on the main timeline (gotoAndPlay X) and also load a MC on the same click. I think what is happening is because the on(press) is separate it is causing my pages to load at different times when I click real fast when AnimationMC is playing. However if I wait for the animation to load first it works %99 of the time.
