Every thing is working but the Thumbnails RollOver event. If I set ThumbnailRolledOver = i; to ThumbnailRolledOver = 1; then it works but I am trying to load in 11 items and need this to be "i" if its possible. Is this something that can be done? I have seen dynamic button names but not dynamic information inside a button like this.
I'm creating dynamic buttons, I'm using textFields to make them.I have a problem with the text on them.I want the text to wrap, autosize and be multiline - ie I want the button to be a certain width and if the text is longer for a particular button the button will be higher with the text going onto the next line.Here is the code I'm using...

I'm trying to make a dynamic menu. I load four buttons to the stage and applie code to each of the buttons. But it's only the last button loaded, that responds to onRollOver/onRollOut If I roll over the other buttons it's the last buttons that reacts all the time. I just can't see what's wrong. I'm sure it pretty simple. Here's the code:
I have 2 object. In different depths of MovieClip. I would like to know if object A parent is same with object B parent. I wanted to dynamically add '.parent' to object A/B till it both reaches the same level (having the same parent object). How can I do that?My idea was to have something likeobjectA = objectA + ".parent"and make it loop till it reaches the target. But this is not the correct way to add in more layers of '.parent'
it is possible to make a movieClip that containes some buttons, input/dynamic text area, but the action script to be taken from an external actionscript file (.as)?I ask this because i have some buttons that calles me movieClips who have actionscript applyed in them, i see that i have some error's because of the actionscript (the .swf file blockes at one moment, and i don't know why ) and i want to call the actionscript file (.as) to button when i press one button that displays me the movieClip attach to him.
Does anybody know how I could make a MC keep moving a certain amount when I let go after dragging it. I want the distance it goes to be based upon how quick I moved the mouse before I let it go.
A have a big chunk of dynamic text (from a db). From this text i am making a .pdf. So i would like to limit the amount of outputted text as a page can run out of space.
I have tried to do it with search and replace. But the problem is that it counts only characters instead of characters in combination with whitespace and the number of lines.
There is space for 100 characters/spaces on each line, and a total of 38 lines on one page.
So i am thinking of something like this: * count all new lines represented by
* count all characters/whitespaces dived to the number of lines to check if this fits the number of (as it uses wordwap)
Anyone with bright ideas on how to approach this?
(btw. TextField.maxChars will not work as it's dynamic text...)

This results in various problems, such as the playhead (scrubber) moving past the end of the loader bar. I posted a simple demo that displays the amount loaded and the amount played in text fields. So I have been having a serious issue with custom video where flash is saying that the amount of the video so far played is MORE than the amount that it has downloaded, which is clearly impossible. This results in various problems, such as the playhead (scrubber) moving past the end of the loader bar.I posted a simple demo that displays the amount loaded and the amount played in text fields. You can see it at: URL...[code]I encoded the video at a high rate so that it would download slowly. It may not playback smoothly, which I am not concerned about. What I am concerned about is the numbers below the video what are derived from ns.bytesLoaded and ns.time. If you watch it for a bit, the amount played should exceed the amount loaded.
I double checked the video duration and the bytestotal that flash is reporting and they are correct. I don't know of any way to check the accuracy of bytesloaded.If your internet connection is super fast, you may not see the issue - it only occurs when it is playing back faster than it is downloading - if this is the case, you may need to throttle your speed down, or start downloading a large file while you are watching this demo in order to see the issue.But this is a serious issue and means that building custom video interfaces with loadbars and playheads is impossible!

The situation is this: Im trying to make a pre-loader that displays the load amount in text as a % and has a loading bar that will only load when the movie loads. When the movie is fully loaded the loading bar fill be full and it will display 100%, when the movie is half full it will be 50% and the bar will only be half way across. If I wanted to make the loading bar a specific width how would I do it?? At the moment the bar only seams to want to be 100 wide. The script im using so far is:

Instead of play() i have tried putting a counter in like counter 8 but it does not work. The idea is that if i click the contact button but im on the home page its scrolls over all other pages and stops on the home page.
I want to be able to display a paragraph where if the text being shown is (say) over 15 lines long, then a link text will appear and if click it will expand. Example: This is a long line for here so I need to make more display but I cant so what will (More)... <== this more link will be clicked and the rest will show up below this paragraph expanded to show the rest of it. When using dynamic text, and loading in text from an xml. How do you get the Dynamic text box to automatically adjust (height) to the length of the text?
I have a movie clip with 15 frames. Each frame has buttons on it (mc's)... I was going to put the actions on the main timeline/stage and navigate within the MC from the main timeline. Is that possible? I can get the buttons on the first frame of the MC to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to target/make the buttons on the other frames work? I was thinking I could identify the path of the MC with the frame labels, but that doesn't seem to work. like: _root.RMChanger.(frame label).buttonOnFrame = function

I'm trying to make a menu that has onRelease buttons on top of onRollover buttons (the onReleases are on a separate layer from the onRollovers). The onRelease buttons take the user to different urls, and the onRollover buttons are supposed to allow different parts of the menu to appear.
The onRelease buttons work fine, but I can't get the onRollover buttons to work consistently. Sometimes the onRollover buttons will correctly advance to a different frame, and sometimes they "stick" and do not advance. The script has no errors and I've tried changing the sizes of the onRollover buttons (in case they were too large and the cursor was hovering over more than 1 at the same time), changing the order of the code for the onRelease and onRollover commands (in case the onRollovers were being superseded by the onRelease commands), and countless variations of the layers and frames.
I'm sure that you'll want to see the script, but I don't think that pasting it all on this post would be reasonable? So I've put the .fla and the .swf on this page for reference: [URL]
I can't get the code to "know" which of the dynamic thumbnails has been clicked (by "know", I mean return an index value, say 0 through 7 if there are 8 projects, that I can use to access that particular project in the array of 8 projects in the rest of the code)... So if the third movieclip thumbnail were clicked, I'd like "2" to come up somehow... I've tried this code, which is kind of lame, I know, based off of the idea of each of the thumbnail movieclips' names ending in their index number:

Lastly, there's a dynamic textfield I'm trying to create that never shows up for some reason. Again, you could see in the FLA (in the "createDrawer" function around line 424).
I am using buttons with a dynamic textfield and a function to set the label for various different buttons:

I have a dynamic textfield ... myText ... which I would like to use as a page title ... so once the button has been clicked, the dynamic textfield should update with the label of the button clicked.
