I was planning on using Flash CS4 and to create a few animated screen savers. The animations would be nothing more than cross-fades of still images. And, I'd need the final products to run on Windows and Mac OS.My question is: has anyone here done anything like this? I'm curious and wondering if anyone here knows of better methods etc

View 2 RepliesI created a swf file for one my clients using a screen size of 1024px x 768px (4:3 ratio), now my client wants to re-use the video in a bigger screen (TV) that still uses a 4:3 ratio but the screen size is considerably bigger (I do not have the exact size yet). Do I need to recreate the flash file using images that fit the new screen size, or the fact that they both use a 4:3 aspect ratio means that the image quality will not suffer?

View 2 RepliesI am currently finishing off a flash project that I began using FlashMX (with action script 1).It is a language teaching tool which will be viewed both online, and will be also put on CD.I would really like the swf to fill the user's entire screen.I have tried a few things with javascript in the html file that haven't worked. I would greatly appreciate any tips on how to:
1. Create a toggle button for full screen in my flash file
2. Make the swf take up the entire browser window (width="100%" height="100%" doesn't seem to work)

I am trying to create a flash animation in which a text title fades in to the screen. I created the text, converted it to a symbol, then tried to create a motion tween in which I could tweak the alpha values of the text object. However when I try to create the keyframe, the popup that comes up has the Color option greyed out (which is where I believe the alpha setting lives).
View 1 RepliesI have a solid programming base (C, C++ and C#). I was looking for some Flash samples over the Internet and I found a Flash Carousel but my doubt doesn't regard it but something simpler than that.
Consider the following sample: http[url]...., when the user clicks on any of the buttons of this carousel a screen is opened with the corresponding image on it but the user still can see the background because the opened screen has an alpha (close button and a legend). I'd like to know how that is done, I've seen this kind of behavior in many galleries and stuff on the Internet but I don't know how that is called and how to create a similar screen.

stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; The stage size is 2560 x 1024. And I have 2 moniters (1280 x 1024 , 1280 x 1024) When I start the application, it shows my application on one of my moniter only.
I need the left side of the stage to be shown in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to be shown in moniter 2. Currently, both sides are shown in moniter 1, and in moniter 2, it shows nothing but my default desktop. *The blue color line is a divider for better visual purpose. How do I make the left side of the stage to appear in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to appear in moniter 2 when the application starts in full screen mode?
Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.

I'm creating a flash site. I want the flash movie to fill the entire browser window. What size should I make the canvas, I've been experimenting with sizes and a canvas size of 750*370 fills my browser well on a resolution of 800*600
How do you accomodate different resolution settings? What's the most commonly used canvas size for this type of project.
I am trying to create a code to have a "play" button on the middle of the screen that disappears after clicking and at the same time have a play/pause/runtime toolbar on bottom that appears only oh hover. I want to create a preloader that is essentially a block of colour moving across the whole stage (610 x 300 pixels) - i don't want it to show the percentage loaded, just the colour will move across the screen and obviously when it reaches the other end, that will indicate that it has loaded all the external swfs and goes onto play them....

I understand how to draw a line, etc but can not work out how to see the shape build. I do not want something likes Kirupas' drawing demo as I do not want the viewer to create the shape.
For example I want to see the lines being drawn and control the speed, rather than the shape simply appearing in the movie.

the problem is that the second parameter must come in "" like
attachMovie("MyObject","arrayVal[counter]",1);
So, as you can see, i'm not able to tell which number comes on the "counter" variable
arrayVal[0]
arrayVal[1]
...
and i'm not able to use it latter:
arrayVal[0]._x++;
...
How is this usually done? (i'm a as3 developer, so i'm stuck here)

View 4 RepliesI have been struggling to find a way to do this. Basically, I am committing data to a database that I have assigned all the variables to. However, when it has finished committing that data, I want it to then push to the next view. So far, I can get it to work if I program in another button to push to the next view but I want it to be automated with the one button.
So far my code is:

It works 100% for committing so that is not a problem and hence I did not include all the other code. My problem comes with the fact that the program is pushing to the next view too soon and it interrupts my data insert.
