ActionScript 2.0 :: Create Object And Insert Them In An Array, For Moving Them Across The Screen?
Sep 3, 2010
I'm trying to create object and insert them in an array, for moving them across the screen. I'm trying to use the attachMovie for this task:
attachMovie("MyObject",arrayVal[counter],1);
the problem is that the second parameter must come in "" like
attachMovie("MyObject","arrayVal[counter]",1);
So, as you can see, i'm not able to tell which number comes on the "counter" variable
arrayVal[0]
arrayVal[1]
...
and i'm not able to use it latter:
arrayVal[0]._x++;
...
How is this usually done? (i'm a as3 developer, so i'm stuck here)
I must have a error in my code it should move an object across the screen but it is only doing the first 3 moves (its not working betwen if 3 and if 4)[code]...
var tabData0: Object = new Object(); tabData0.tab1 = new Object(); tabData0.tab1.names = new Array();
[Code]....
I want to combine this output with a few more to refer to my object / array. The remoteHolder contains the value I need to know which object (tabData0, tabData1, etc) to retrieve the info from.
I have MovieClips in the library that are instantiated and loaded to an array. From that array I want to add them to the stage and move them across one by one at specific intervals. I've chosen not to use a tween because it acted finicky and the MCs get stuck for whatever reason. So I've taken a different approach by changing the x coordinate of the individual MC with a timer to make it move (sort of like a particle system.) The problem is that each one needs to be assigned it's own timer function. As of right now every time the timer fires it just resets to the next item in the array and nothing moves. The only solution I can think of is to write an individual timer function for all 18. This seem impractical and there has to be a better way. I guess idealy I would need a function that can write a new function for each array item but I have no idea how to do that. Here's some of my code:
var myTimer:Timer = new Timer(4000); var moveTimer:Timer; myTimer.start();
I think to create an animation (like moving object foward) we can used frame to frame animation and also we can used actionscript tween class.And my question is, if somebody talking about 'timelined animation', which one is it? is it frame to frame? or is it actionscript? or is it both of them?
I have created a game in which the user controls a object which moves across the bottom of the screen firing bullets at fish which randomly swim across the screen. My problem however is that when the timer runs out some of the fish stay on the screen instead of disappearing, I have tried everything to make them all go away but I always end up with one or two which stay stuck and remain there no matter what the user does. My code for the balloons moving n disappearing is as follows:
function moveBalloons() { // loop through balloons in array for(i=balloons.length-1;i>=0;i--) { // get speed and clip dx = balloons[i].d; balloon = _root[balloons[i].clip]; [Code] ......
My project downloads an array from a MySQL server that has URLs for pictures in it. Part of my script then downloads these pictures and splices the array (removing the URL and replacing it with the bitmap). Now i need to use those bitmaps on the stage but i need two instances of the same bitmap at the same time, and it seems like flash is having a problem with this.
How do i create two instances of the same array bitmap?
Still trying to get the hang of AS3 here. I basically have 4 MovieClips on my scene and a collection of MovieClips in the library. I want to be able to select 4 from the library at random, and display them on the stage. They will end up being clickable as its a kind of quiz where they click on the objects and the score is recorded. For now I need to get the hang of loading them at random. I also want to be able to make sure there are no duplicate buttons loaded to the stage. So far I have one movie exported to AS and displayed across the stage:
I want to create an array of object so that I can store the _level I want to load image at specified level and and to keep track of levels in an array so that when any new image will be loaded I can get location of previously loaded image and place the new image before the last image
I'm having trouble wrapping my head around creating an array as a data member of a movieclip, i.e. dynamically adding it to that movieclip depending on data brought in at runtime.
Would I have to create an array seperately first and then somehow assign it to a new (typeless) data member of the movieclip?
I'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.
I have a project that was dumped on my lap, and my knowledge of Actionscript is very limited.
The scenario is that the user is presented with a floormap of a building that should show a red dot denoting where each employee sits (based on X,Y coordinates on the floormap).
The employees' profiles (name, telephone, X/Y coordinates) are stored in a database.
One our our programmers managed to load the users into a Flash object array. Now, it's my turn to add some actionscript to place a red dot on the floormap for each and every user in that array based on their x/y coordinates.[code]...
I have 2 arrays and I want to create the third one as associative array.ex: tab1 contains IDtab1 (10,5,6,...) tab2 contains IDtab2 (12,12,12,5,5,6,10,10...)tab3 contains both IDtab1 and IDtab2 (associative array)However I want to able to insert into the right INDEX area only.
i see that theres the array.push and array.unshift, but thats just the beginning and the end of the array. how would i go about inserting an item(s) into an array at the desired index?
I'm trying to insert embeddable video code, such as youtube/viddler/etc.. which all start with the object tag: <object width="480" height="385"> <param name="movie" value="[URL]"> </param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"> </param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"> </param><embed src="[URL]" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"> </embed></object> into MySQL with PHP.
I'm trying to call it in php, but only get the text value back, basically, the entire embed code as text is displayed instead of the video itself. Here is my display code which shows text. How can I make it show the actual video instead? <?php //assuming a connection to the database exists $sql = "SELECT * FROM table"; $result = mysql_query( $sql ); while( $row = mysql_fetch_array( $result, MYSQL_ASSOC ) ) { $html = array(); //create an array of html formated values. [Code] .....
The php code right above it pulls out this data, without the slashes and it displays the embed code perfectly as text, but the actual video does not form from that. Is there anyway to have the code displayed act as code and show the video instead of text?
I think that arrays are probably one of the more powerful tools available in flash,
mc with instance name but0
inside mc is a text box var name label , code is [AS]label = _name;[/AS]
mc on main timeline code in frame 1 is:
subjects = new Array("page1","page2","page4","page4","page5") butHeight = but0._height+5; butNumber = subjects.length[code]....
What this code does is produce 5 buttons appearing one after the other, like a cascade effect, so far so good, I then want to insert the array elements into text box label, but all I get is subject, subject1, subject2 and so on.So, what do I need to do so that my buttons are called page1, page2 and so on.
How do you create a motion tween when I insert keyframe in frame 28 then I click on the object and create motion tween but when i click in 60 to insert keyframe I get opition of position, scale, skew, rotate ect. I just want to insert keyframe. What am I doing wrong?
