I have flash loading the images dynamically thru loadmovie
the Images load fine, but they go on top of everything else.
Is there a way to get them on a lower layer?

Each image is a different frame of a walking movement of a character. What I want to do is load all the images in the constructor and assign the sprite the current frame to display.eg sprite=bitmap1 then after some time swap images sosprite=bitmap2 then after some time swap images so etcsprite=bitmap3....Is this the logic you do in AS3?The code loads 1 image so I can change this to 4 images to load (4 bitmaps and 1 sprite for the current frame?)

I have 170 images that I need to place on the same place on the left side of the stage and and have them move across the stage one at a time, increase in size and then fade out after 10 sec. The sequence then continues for all 169 images. My initial thoughts are to animate the first image inside a movie clip, duplicate it and swap the image. When I tried this it worked fine until the image had shape tweened to the larger size (at this point the image displays for 10 sec and fades out). At the key frame at this point the image changed back to the original one. What do I need to do to make the new image visible throughout the whole movie clip when I swap the image like this? Is there a better way to produce this type of animation? I am using Flash Professional 8 and quite new to the world of Flash and Action Script.

View 3 RepliesThe title pretty much sums up what I am trying to do: I haven't started digging into using script in Flash yet, still being very much a beginner.
I created a simple file using movie clips nested in buttons so that when I mouseover a letter, it bobs up and down, but I can't work out how to make it return to its original "up" state *smoothly* when the mouse is moved away. If it must involve script please be aware I am a total noob!
I was wondering if anyone has any input on my question.I've been trying to figure out for a few hours now how to make words or sentences animate in and "pause" for a few seconds (for the user to read) and then continue to play. I know I can tween it, but I wanted to do it via actionscript. I got it to animate in and come out but i couldn't figure out how to have it hold for a few sec. I will have more than one sentence animate in and out.
View 8 RepliesDoes creating a new instance of an Object that uses an identical name to an older instance, delete the previous instance? Or should the original instance be deleted first? The code uses a ridiculous amount of XML vars. Isn't it less memory intensive to parse the XML and save the properties to an Object, and then delete the XML Object, rather than keep the XML Object around and reference it's child nodes directly? Is it better form to break up a huge XML file (>600lines/3200vars) into smaller chunks?
View 1 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I am working on an Image manipulation application which will be developed using Flash/ C#.Net. Is this possible to save the image manipulations (not the image) saved from Adobe Lightroom for a specific image & then merge these change sets with an image to make a new image using C#.Net?
Also, the application for image manipulation will be developed in the Flash/ Action Script. Please share some links as to how we can save the image manipulations for an image (not the image) so that it can be merged with an image later on.
I am building a flash based website and have a large rectangle mc that I am panning left to right that has buttons nested inside. I followed the kirupa tutorial called "interactive image panning" and everything seems to be working fine. My problem is this. I want this panned mc to be centered and framed by a black border that will also act as a mask hiding the ends of the rectangle that have not yet been panned to. When I add this black border the code thinks the stage dimensions are larger and the panning gets whacky. How can I contain this panned mc so it doesn't react to a change in the stage dimensions. it also does this when I open the published HTML in the browser. I basically want it to behave like the sample image on the first page of the "interactive image panning tutorial". There must be an easy solution.
