I created a simple file using movie clips nested in buttons so that when I mouseover a letter, it bobs up and down, but I can't work out how to make it return to its original "up" state *smoothly* when the mouse is moved away. If it must involve script please be aware I am a total noob!

Apr 29, 2010I would like to make a mouse-over effect on an object. The mouse-over effect should work like this: when the mouse cursor is dragged over the object it should glow, but if the mouse cursor remains over the object it should still glow, but another mouse over effect should occur, showing an info box for the object. Until now I have just made the object as a button, and in the "over" box I have made the object glow, by defining it as a movie clip. However, this only works for the glow part. How do I add another mouse-over effect (which is delayed 1 sec) to the same object?

Oct 5, 2009I have made a couple of 'advanced rollovers' if you will, yet one thing is annoying me about them! When you roll over the button it looks great, yet as soon as your mouse goes off the hit area, it just suddenly shoots straight back to frame 1 of the movie clip , is there any way to animate a scene once the mouse has gone off the button, so it looks smooth when rolling over and when rolling off?

For instance: A stack of photos, that on click, the top photo would animate to the left (or right) and then animate to the back of the stack. My only problem is that i don't understand how to change the order of things, or if this is even possible (as essentially eveything is on layers), the only way i can think of is to have everything on one layer, but then this would interupt the animation of each photo

Dec 15, 2009I am struggling to find a way to animate a fill of text in Flash CS4. The concept I am looking for is that over a time period have the color rise from the bottom to the top. My initial attempt was to have 2 objects, one filled with the color and the other filled with white. I was hoping to just adjust the borders of the object or text to have it disappear, but that just reshapes the object, not cropping it. If you know how to crop into objects and reveal the object beneath, let me know.
I am very new to Flash so hopefully it is a simple answer, but I am not seeing it yet.

Feb 3, 2010I have a flash that has a background symbol that responds to CLICK event. On top of that symbol I have a sprite that contains a Bitmap with transparent pixels. Both of them are added to the stage, so they are not related directly.
I want clicks on the transparent pixels on the sprite to go straight through to the background. I have read about mouseEnabled / mouseChildren but have not been able to make these work. The symbol ignores the mouse events when I use them, but does not pass it along as if its transparent.
Is this possible to do with flash? Or will I have to re-route mouse events?

But what if I hide the button when I click it and then I show it again later without moving the mouse? The mouse stays over the button, but the button does not animate, as there is no out/over event: I have to move the mouse out and over again to see the animation.
How can I detect the mouse standing on a button without the out/over event?

I know I can tween it, but I wanted to do it via actionscript. I got it to animate in and come out but i couldn't figure out how to have it hold for a few sec. I will have more than one sentence animate in and out.
