ActionScript 3.0 :: Animate An Image - Load 4 Images(in 4 Files) In A Class?

I have a read a few ways to animate an image in AS3 and not sure what is the most efficient way.I  want to load 4 images(in 4 files) in a class. Each image is a different  frame of a walking movement of a character. What I want to do is load  all the images in the constructor and assign the sprite the current  frame to display.eg sprite=bitmap1  then after some time swap images sosprite=bitmap2  then after some time swap images so etcsprite=bitmap3....Is this the logic you do in AS3?The code loads 1 image so I can change this to 4 images to load (4 bitmaps and 1 sprite for the current frame?)

I am using actionscript 3. I can load an image in a class but how do Iload a number of images eg 4 images that animate.?These 4 images are a walking sequnce of a character. I am unclear after googling an loading multi images in as3( just love google).

Loading a single image I load this into a loader Once loaded I load the image into a bitmap and add to a sprite I then add the spite to the stage Q)Now for 4 related images I load 4 loader or 4 sprites or 4 bitmaps or do every thing 4 times?I want to do collisions eventually and I need bitmaps but bitmaps seem useless to use other than collisions.Googling for answers isnt helping me clarify this!

I have an application that I'm migrating from flex 3 to flex 4.5. In this application, there is some mx Image components that load a simple swf file (image). Spark image doesn't load swf files, so I was wondering, should I keep the mx Image, or should I change it to SWFLoader? Is there any advantages to using one or the other?

i have a UI loader that loads images (arabic file names) from folder based on some user input...

the images loads fine when i'm opening the SWF file, but when it's on an HTML page, the files' names are encoded some how and then not loaded ..

when i write the full path of an image in the browser's address bar, the image opens fine.

is there away i can keep the file names in arabic, and make them load when the swf object in an HTML page ?

I cant load an image from a class.I have main.as which calls  Classplayer.as  Classplayer calls ClassMisiile.I cant load an image from ClassMissile .I can load the image in Classplayer and dont know why the image in ClassMissile doesnt appear and it is spelt right and in the correct directory.I dont get an error and the functions work but no image.

Flex :: Load Several External Images; Getting Cannot Convert To Class?

I'm trying to load a bunch (about 100) of images into memory, so I can display them at various times. Originally I had simply embedded them, but that of course resulted in the swf file being larger than I wanted. So now I'm trying to change it to load them in the background because they aren't needed immediately.There are probably plenty of problems with this. The current on is that I'm getting an error that says 'TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "foo.jpg" to Class.'

I've been googling this awhile, assuming loading an external image is a common thing. That's where I got the Loader and URLRequest code, but I'm clearly missing something. Maybe it's due to my goofy looping logic.Here's the class so far

Ok this is what I would like to do. My project I am working on has an app that will upload image files to a specific folder on my server what I would like to do is have it load all the files in that folder through flash without me having to manually add the names of the files into the coding if possible.

I can create an image slideshow but I have to put in each and every .jpg and such I would prefer not to do that as in the future there may be more then 5-10 images.

In addition I already have the app created that uploads files.

I'm developing an app that needs to dynamically load in .png files as thumbnails for an image gallery. I have studied up on the bitmapData.hitTest() method for being able to setup an alpha test in order work around the .png bounding box issue, but have a problem.

I get an as3 error 2005, which OK I can understand in some cases, but it is pointing to a parameter that makes no sense at all. Here's the error:

ArgumentError: Error #2005: Parameter 0 is of the incorrect type. Should be type BitmapData.

I am building a website with an image gallery using XML to load thumbnails and images.

Firstly, I was going to try to make the thumbnails act like buttons, so the mouse cursor would change to a little pointing finger like it does in buttonmode but i could not get this to work.

Secondly, I also wanted the alpha properties of the other buttons to reduce to about 0.75 to highlight the selected thumnail that would stay at its full alpha value of 1. Yet again i could not get this to work either.Can you build this type of functionality into the imported xml data or am I just kidding myself here?

Question: How do I (assuming it is possible) animate a drawing (gif, jpeg, png, whatever) I drew outside of flash. I have some monsters I have drawn and would like to animate them for a flash game I am creating. I've looked around and done a lot of searches, but I cannot find any answers or tutorials. It is probably because I am not using the right keywords. One similar to this that already has a lot of detail, but can still have the limbs animated with the bone tool or weapons even. When I try it seems I have the entire square image and can't use the weapon shape. Note: I am new to flash and have only gone through the first 14 tutorials on this site,which rocks btw

I'm having some issues with images loading from another class other than the document class.
I currently have two classes: Loader and GamePanel.
I also made a picture into a MovieClip type with a self generated class.
When I use the Loader to construct it :: new someBackground().
And addChild, it appears.
But if I construct the GamePanel class and call the generation of that same background, it does not appear. I'm currently using actionscript 3.

I have lots of images in the library (tile1.png, tile2.png, tile3.png...) each of which are on one frame of my Tile MovieClip. My Tile class which was created when I made the Tile movieclip and pressed export for actionscript also contains some other data such as height, texture, movementCost... et cetera.

I would like to take all the stuff out the library, and load the images from a local folder, have them loaded into my "Tile" class so that when I make a new Tile object and in my main fla file if I write addChild(someTile) it will draw the tile image to screen.

Basically what I am asking is how I can do this:
Create new movieClip (Tile) object and put it in the library
Export the new MovieClip (Tile) for as3, so it gets its own class (Tile.as)
import all my pngs from local folder into the library
put them all on a seperate frame on my new movieclip (Tile)
var myTile:Tile=new Tile();
myTile.gotoAndStop(x);
addChild(myTile);

WITHOUT using the library. I want to be able to do this with only as3 if it's possible.

Best (performance) Way To Animate 55 Png Images In Adobe Flash?

We are using Adobe Flash to produce software for an interactive touch screen kiosk.I have 55 1024x768 24 bit PNG images.I want to play them (fairly regularly...once every 5 minutes or so) without them stuttering but can't find a good dependable way, main problem is I think Flash GC's them after an arbitrary idle period.Reason I'm doing this is because the FLV attempts we have made aren't sufficiently high quality.I also looked at using a H.264 but that obscures any other assets placed over it.I have a number of text fields sitting over this animation. The machine in question is a Core2 Duo, 4GB Ram, GeForce 9500GT.
