I am creating a website in Flash CS4 Actionscript 3.0? I want to have buttons that will only exist within a "Demo_Page" section of the timeline. I have the code below which works fine for buttons that exist through out the intire timeline.
I have 3 text fields that display weather conditions from the Weather.com XML web service. The 3 text fields need to be visible only during a certain segment of the Flash Video that is set as the application's background. Do I use AS3 to specify visiblity? If so, how do I reference a certain range of frames in which the fields should be visible?
I'm basically trying to reference a number of preexisting movieclips on the stage through a for loop, give it a variable and assign and action. So, where in AS 2.0, I would have gone:
ActionScript Code: for (var i:Number=1;i<=4;i++){ var refMC:MovieClip=this["myMC"+i];
i purchased a slideshow.but slideshow's next&prev button doesnt skip if an image is lost. i want the slider to jump to the next image which is exist. check out the code below.
HTML Code: function TRANSITION(obj:Object, B:int = -1){ var _a:int = c_pos var _b:int
I need to limit an angle so it fits into a segment. I have drawn and links to a diagram below to better describe what I am after. I am trying to calculate this for a computer program, where I have an angle (slope), and a point (the mouse pointer). The distance does not matter to me, just the angles. If the point is within b1 (green area) then that's fine. But if the point is within b2 or b3 (red or orange) areas, then the angle should snap back to the limit of the green area (along the line s).
The main problem I am having in figuring this out, is snapping the angle to the correct side e.g. If the point is in the red area, then the angle should snap to the angle s on the red side and vice versa. I am also having trouble because s could be any angle, so I am being tripped up because I can't just do something like this:
Currently I have the code:piechart.l1.gotoAndStop("percent_20")But I really need it to play from label "percent_1" to "percent_20" and then stop. Is there an easy way to do that?
I want only show a segment for that video, for example I want to start from minute 15 until minute 16, Only shows a minute for that video, but, I want to see that video as a complete short video of 1 minute duration.
I have an equation for a parabolic curve intersecting a specified point, in my case where the user clicked on a graph.
// this would typically be mouse coords on the graph var _target:Point = new Point(100, 50); public static function plot(x:Number, target:Point):Number{ return (x * x) / target.x * (target.y / target.x);
I have a long video of 50 minutes duration..I want only show a segment for that video, for example I want to start from minute 15 until minute 16, Only shows a minute for that video, but, I want to see that video as a complete short video of 1 minute duration.How can I make this goal?
I'm new to Flex, I've tried to do this using a CartesianDataCanvas inside backgroundElements in mxml, then using ActionScript to draw lines on the data canvas using moveTo(x1,y1) and lineTo(x2,y2), which draws a line between (x1,y1) and (x2,y2).
The problem with the above method is the tick mark length is a function of the chart area (which depends on the browser window size).
What I need is a method that:
(1) starts at a data coordinate (e.g. moveTo(x1,y1) works fine for this)
(2) draws a line to a screen coordinate (e.g. lineTo(x_screen, y_screen) where x_screen and y_screen are screen coordinates).
Is there anything that can accomplish this in Flex/AS3?
Alternatively, could I use screen coordinates for both steps above? If so, how to convert between screen and data coordinates? For example, is the upper right corner of the screen always a fixed data coordinate that I could reference is creating such a conversion?
Alternatively, could I save a five-pixel line in Illustrator and simply paste that image in the chart somehow? If so, how to paste it exactly at a data coordinate?
Basically, what annoys me is that when I click a segment to activate the interpolated event, the datatips disappear for it's duration. Whilst this is only half a second, it still detracts from user experience. Is there anything I can do to avoid it??
This is really basic, I've got 3 buttons on the main timeline, which is 25 frames. All my actions are on frame 14. Three buttons work on frame 15. But these same 3 buttons stop working on frame 17 [URL]..
i have forward/back buttons to control the timeline. what happens in the following code is that if the button is clicked while in the < or > range of frames, it gets buggy. heres the code.
[Code].....
this doesnt seem to go to the exact frame i need if i click while the current sample is still animating in. It would be much better if i could tell flash to a specific frame instead of asking flash to determine a range. that way, if a button is pressed during an animation it wont just advance one frame, it would jump to a specific frame.
I wish i could just do this:
[Code].....
i thought about creating a var that would be a string. i could then add a number to the name of that string each time the button is clicked. then i could make frame labels the name of the string. but i couldnt get my head around it. also, i didnt know how to make the button stop adding to the string name once it reach a certain value (6 in this case). or how to make it play the last sample animation if the user kept clicking the advance button at the end of the samples.
I have two buttons at the bottom of my animation which should work all the way through the timeline. They work when you click on the chrome icon in the animation, but when you click on either Firefox or any of the other browser thumbnail buttons, the links stop working and nothing happens when you click them?
I am making a site and I do not want some of the buttons to show all of the time. So for example, I have four text buttons with Actionscript Mouse_Over from frames 1-40 on the timeline. At 41, they are gone and four new buttons come into play. When I test the movie, the second set of rollovers link up to the specified labels.I keep getting this"1009 error at frame ()1" message. I initially had the same problem with the first four buttons as I had them appear on the stage at frame 3. After I moved them to frame 1, the rollovers worked again.So is there a way to hide the second set of buttons until a specified time or do they have to start on frame 1?Is there a way you could view my Fla file to see if it is something I am just overlooking? All of my Script is correct.
I am building a proof-concept-interface and have followed a tutorial to a T but for some reason my version won't work. I've only scripted functionaility for the login and access buttons. This is only for a proof of concept and I've already spent to much time on it.
I do have a movie clip and inside that movie clip I have used a button in order to control the time line of the MC. I have divided the MC time line in to 4 parts. and according to the roll ove and role out the movie clip works. I want to change the scene when user click the MC clip. How can i do that? I have attached the FLA file to this one.
I have a three masked pictures all are movie clips on the main timeline and the mask works ok. The problem I am having is a set of buttons on the main timeline which allow you to move between the frames the three pictures are on. They allow me to do this ok but when the movie is started the first time one of the buttons is pressed the masked pictures can be seen on screen briefly before the screen displays the material properly.
This is the script I am currently using: room_pic.setMask("mc_mask"); mc_mask.onEnterFrame=function(){ this._x=this._x+this._xmouse*0.300000; this._y=this._y+this._ymouse*0.500000;}
I have three layers the main picture which is a bitmap; the three masked pictures are in the layer above this; and the mask object is in a layer above this and is a movieclip.
I want to call on a button instance that lives two levels up in a movie clip. So, the mc lives here: Scene 1 > startMc > navMC (the navMC contains all the buttons) I thought "page1_btn.child.child.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, page1content);" would work but doesn't seem to do it. The code on main timeline is:
I created a scrollpane which contains several different buttons. Each button does a simple timeline navigation, but won't function inside of the scrollpane. I just need each button to 'gotoframeandstop'. How can I make these buttons work in a scrollpane?
I have a flash document that publishes to an swf I embedd into an html page. The flass is made up of three movie clips that I have managed to program to run in succession and then loop. Each movie clip (frame 1, frame 2 and frame 3) drill down into their own animation. I set the movie up this way so that each of the animations could be linked to a different web page. Now I want to add navigation within the flash itself by creating three dots that when clicked will send the movie to frame 1, 2 or 3. I can't seem to find an example of this and am just not well versed enough in script to figure this out.
I'm having an issue with my website design and as I'm relatively new to flash I can't seem to fix it on my own. I know what I'm supposed to do, technically, but not sure how to actually implement it. Below is a picture of my timeline: What my problem is that the buttons for navigating my pages (bio, news, projects, links, etc.) are nested inside of my Navigation MC (on the Navigation layer) and so they appear in the timeline (at frame 20) before my content does (frame 70). Because of this, the buttons can't be aimed at the content because their code is run before the content even exists.
I'm guessing that what I need to do is to instantiate my content at a point in the timeline before the navigation/buttons occur... but as the content is the last part of my loading animation, I'm not sure how to do that. I read something about adding the MC's but keeping them invisible, then making them visible again at teh appropriate time, but I don't know how to do that or if it would somehow mess with my animation (everything fades in one item after the other, with the content being the last part).
I have a scrollPane on my Stage and I have it linked to a movieClip containing a series of images that have been converted to buttons. Everything works fine, except I can't seem to figure out how to get the buttons to link to the main timeline. All I want is them to gotoAndPlay ("frameLableOnTheMainTimeline"). (I am using AS3)I tried a standard on Click eventListener, but am unsure of the syntax to make it go back to a specific frame on the main timeline.
In the last line, I want the function to go to a frame in the timeline, not to an outside URL. Shouldn't I just be able to change it to this? (85 is the frame number)
