is it possible to script in flash so that you can have smoething like the enigma machine?ike have an input text box where you input a letter or words then have another output box where the translated work or letters would come out? and if so, can anyone provide me with the actionscript?or would i have to venture into Dreamweaver?
how to make Flash MX process numbers or letters written in a textfield one by one? For example, if you write 2463 into a textfield, it would make a calculation like 2+4+6+3 and print the result on screen.
I need to make my own QR code generator script in Flash, or get one in JS/PHP. Problem is that I can't find any info about the algorithm or any free scripts. Is the QR code algorithm copyrighted and not open to the public?
Maybe you know of some free sources on how to write it?
I'm trying to create a function in FMX that validates a field for numbers and letters only, i.e. no special characters. I know how to check for number strings and so on but trying to check for letters in a string?
I used to have a PHP function that did this for my password field (below) and I would like to do something similar in Flash[code]....
I have an Array of objects that each have a Name and a Score. I can sort the Array with '.sortOn()' by the object's Name or the Score, but when I sort by the Score, if some Names have the same Score, they don't list Alphabetically within that Score. The following code shows what I mean. The Names with a Score of 50 are together when listed by Score, but they are not Alphabetical. How do I combine both ways of sorting?
does anyone know of a script that will take up to 500 words per conversion, or does anyone know a application that will be able to do this? unlimited amount of words would even be better.
I would like to restrict user input to numbers only between letters. for example: the user is allowed to input "a2b", but "2ab" or "ab2" isn't allowed.
What would be the best way to simply take a string like
var myString:String = "Thi$ i$ a T#%%Ible Exam73@"; and make myString = "thiiatibleeam"; or another example var myString:String = "Totally Awesome String"; and make myString = "totallyawesomestring";
I don't know if it exists some code generation method for Flex based on XML or Database Structure. For example, we want to manipulate a table in the DB, the most common task is (View/Insert/Update/Delete). And when we have more than 100 fields on the interface, it's rather boring to type them manually in Flex. Is there some ways to generate the Flex Code and the ActionScript functions for managing that.
I want to make a code verification form. Those forms that generate an image which you have to read and type down the code in it. I want to have AS generate a random set of letters and numbers in an unselectable textField. That will be the generated bitmap (not a bitmap actually, but... ). I also want that randomly generated set of letters and numbers to be written down in a variable so that I can compare the variable with the input field of the user to test if it is ok. How to randomly generate that?
I'm starting using the CS4 version of flash, and in my codes, every word is "missing" the last letter. It's not really missing, we just can't see it, or see only half of it. Did it ever happen to you? If so, how can I fix this?
I have searched everwhere on the internet for a solution, with no luck, so I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.I am trying to make a kind of interactive tv. I have eight scenes and each scene has four choices of movie clips.A user picks one clip from each scene, maybe with check boxes. This generates a playlist which is loaded into a flv player which in turn plays the eight clips in order.
I've created a simple Flex application to fetch an XML file. I need a Flex variable "id" to grab the "letters" value from the tag in the XML code, then show the id in an Alert window. When I run this code now (with the full code), the Alert box is blank.When I run the application in Flex Debug mode, this is what Flex sees: http:[url]....Below is the Flex and XML code (edited to only show what's not working):
I would like to make a flash generator app like QuizCreator og Quiz Writer. Does anybody here know how these flash generators are made.I guess they are written in for instance C sharp. But how is the flash movie generated with these apps. What is needed to make such apps?
creating something similar to this little slot machine name generator? I've been looking around for a tutorial but can't seem to find anything like this.. [URL]
Everything seems to be a string right now & that kinda ruins the whole xml as an internal data structure thing, I don't need a big tree of string I need typed data :-/ Are there any changes I can make to either my XML files or my AS3 code that will force it to cast ints as ints and Numbers as Numbers? Or maybe some kind of type schema I can impose? Not really worked with XML til recently so chances are I'm just ignorant of the canonical way to deal with this...
I know how to catch usual lowercase letters. I'm using KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN and compare the code to the ASCII table to find out which key was pressed. Now, I also want to be able to find out if there is, for example SHIFT+A pressed, and I have no idea how to implement this. I mean, in my program SHIFT and A are absolutely different keys which have nothing to do with each other, and they both will call KeyboardEvents when pressed. In Georgian alphabet some letters are typed by combination of SHIFT and English letters, for example W on Georgian keyboard means წ, when SIFT+W means áƒ. Absolutely different letters, as you can see. And I want to be able to catch both, coz I'm currently developing Georgian-language game.
I need to append 4 letters to my variable name when referencing it to get either spanish or english XML data. I am trying to reuse my functions without writing an if statement.
like so:
//two options for var spa_my_videos:XMLList; var eng_my_videos:XMLList;
Using CS5, and certain letters simply won't show up in my dynamic text field. Not even a blank shows up, they just get stripped out. 'g' and 'v' are two of the letters, so the string 'v testing' shows up on the stage as 'testin'.
It doesn't seem to matter if I start with the string already in there, or add it dynamically. Here are the settings, but they don't really seem to matter either, I've experimented:
Classic Text Dynamic Text Ariel Regular Anti-alias for animation Single line
I want to create a particle system that spews into the air multiple copies of letters that eventually spell out a phrase.Since the final file will involve hitTestObject collisions, I think I'd need, as a first step, 10 non-dynamic MCs to create my phrase... loaded into, I'm guessing, an array? Something like: target_mc = ["H", "E", "L", "O", etc.]; Then, as a second step, I need a spewing mechanism, built around(?): addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,myFunction);
I want to generate a variable number of random numbers less than 16 with no duplicate numbers
Ive posted the fla, and what i'm doing is generating a random number and putting it into an array then using a for loop to cycle through the array for each new random number to check if its already there. if it is, then i want to regenerate that number.
if you test the fla you'll see that all i get in my array is some lovely zero's and i sort of know why this is, but don't know how to stop it.
I am trying to convert a string having numbers to an integer.
//15 9's are there var str:String="999999999999999" var res:Number = new Number(str);
But it is not able to convert correctly as the the var res now has the value 100000000000000000. I know that the number has 52 bits of memory, then why is it not able to do the conversion?
create a function that picks out X amount of numbers from a set of numbers? So if X=3, then i need this function to pick out 3 different numbers from say a set of numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) and then stored it into X number of variables.
In saying that, X will only =2, and =5. So in the first instance, i'll need 2 random numbers from the set above that are not the same numbers, and second instance 5 random numbers from the set above (also no repeats of numbers). Then i need to be able to store those 2 or 5 different random numbers from the set into variables to call them with other functions.
