Is it possible to project an animated shockwave movie or Flash movie directly on to an IMAX screen if it were designed to IMAX screen specs without going through Adobe After Effects to render out a Quicktime movie?
View 5 RepliesI bought Macromedia Flash because I took course in Flash about 8 years ago. So,when I was asked by my company's CEO to take a presentation and turn it into a "flash movie" I said, "sure I can do that". Well, I did do it, and it plays fine on the workstation that I created it on with "Macromedia Flash Player 8. However, no one else can get it to play except by opening it with a browser, which is not really ideal for our proposed usage. Is there some sort of desktop player still available that would allow someone (like a sales guy) to just double click on an icon and play this movie? Or is there some sort of way that i can update the movie so there is a desktop player to launch it?

Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.
My question is what needs to be done in order to make a .swf file go into full screen without falling to a black screen when a movie is played? I have tried coding it, however I come up with the following error.

What should I do to fix this? This is not going to be an HTML file, however, so the initial thought of changing the publish settings does not seem to work this time.
I want to know, Is there any way to handle or control the shockwave objects in flash by using 'as3'? I know this is possible in 'Director' by using 'Lingo'. But I am not able to find any way or any articles from where i can get some idea about this. In the director, I've seen there is way to set some properties like camera position, light affects etc. with the shockwave objects. But I am not sure about the FLASH. Can it possible to use these type of properties with shockwave objects in flash, which could be controlled in action script3 ?
View 1 RepliesCan I set a maximum percentage of CPU resources a specific program or process can use? I want to use the executable name instead of its pid, because I would like certain executables to always run with constrained resources.
The reason I ask for that is that I am bored of the way Shockwave Flash behaves. It is not possible that to draw a few stupid things in my browser it takes 50%, 80%, 99% of my dual core CPU!

P.S.: Now, when my fan starts running I now the reason and I know how to temporarily fix it: I kill Shockwave Flash and everything is back as normal.
What are the ways of doing this? The search function is down right now, for whatever reason.
The only way I can think of off the top of my head is using an html enabled text box in flash to iframe a separate page with the shockwave app inside it. I've seen it only once before on a site that was given a new shockwave game and we had to have it work with the existing flash website.

I have the following code to display the swf object on the page. It works well in all browsers. However, if shockwave flash turned off in Firefox, it won't fallback into image and show bunch of characters instead looking like "CWS..." All other browsers fallback to the image. I verified that we serve application/x-shockwave-flash MIME type on our server.

I'm trying to use google maps in my wpf c# project, I've installed Adobe Flash player but cannot for the life of me find the shockwave player object reference or when I add a new item in the toolbox find in, both in the COM lists. I had to download and install flash using internet explorer.

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to limit the bandwidth or screen refresh rate that a flash movie uses? I have a large number of virtual desktops which use RDP and flash performance is terrible.
If I look at a site in IE that use lots of flash, my RDP session can even hang sometimes or more likely become completely unusable.
We have this legacy code of a flash video player that functions well enough but still has some loose ends I need to tighten up. It can do the basic "switch to full screen and back to normal size" stunts, however with one exception.
On the first fresh load of the app, if I switch to full screen mode first, and then click to play the movie, the player would be in full screen, yet the movie itself would remain in it's original size.

The VideoDisplay object even returns the expected width/height, but the movie just plays in it's original size. If I switch screen sizes during movie playback, then the movie size will shrink or stretch as it should.
I want to have layer pop in my flash movie that allows the user to click and drag it around the screen. I also want this to have minimize, maximize, and close buttons on it.

Is there a quicky way of doing this, without having to go into each element and resizing it. Its a huge file with a lot of cross referencing happening, and _root is used liberally everywhere.

I have a flash movie containing an Action Scripted toggle Full Screen button.When I press the button the movie switches to Full screen.The problem I have is that my Flash movie always aligns to the top left of the screen.I use the Flash Only Centered extension which successfully centers the movie in the browser window, but not when in full screen mode.

I have some AS that creates a movie clip and later tries to make it go away. However, _visible isn't working as I would think. Here's a sample: I create the triangle:

It doesn't work, however. So, I tried trace(triangle30._visible) both before and after the second chunk of code, and it does indeed change from true to false. However, the movie clip is still visible on the screen.
I have an AIR application that will go full screen when the application starts:
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; The stage size is 2560 x 1024. And I have 2 moniters (1280 x 1024 , 1280 x 1024) When I start the application, it shows my application on one of my moniter only.
I need the left side of the stage to be shown in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to be shown in moniter 2. Currently, both sides are shown in moniter 1, and in moniter 2, it shows nothing but my default desktop. *The blue color line is a divider for better visual purpose. How do I make the left side of the stage to appear in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to appear in moniter 2 when the application starts in full screen mode?
I'm creating a flash site. I want the flash movie to fill the entire browser window. What size should I make the canvas, I've been experimenting with sizes and a canvas size of 750*370 fills my browser well on a resolution of 800*600
How do you accomodate different resolution settings? What's the most commonly used canvas size for this type of project.
This is what i'm trying to do , get the Ratio 4:3 9:16 etc from an mp4 movie (h264) so when ill open it in fullscreen using a flash player / action script 3 it will still keep the ratio.
View 2 RepliesI want my movie to loop. Would prefer an If/Else loop so that the movie plays a certain number of times then plays the opening of a screen then stops. This is a simple 4 screen ad I am doing for a school project. Can't get it to work. I tried containing my code in the proper loop syntax, didn't work. Then wrapping the loop in a function and calling that with a timer event, didn't work. My final solution was to call my whole movie in a timer event set to play once. Then calling the entire movie again in a second timer event set to play 20 times and set to start at an interval when the first movie ended. This did work but each time the movie plays thru function calls drop off making the movie degrade.
