I know that my question has been asked before but I didn't found any answer suitable for my case or even works. My problem is: I need to embed a Flash movie inside WPF application, then I need to use Externalinterface - or whatever the way is - to integrate through this flash movie - I'm working on Visual Studio 2008! View 3 RepliesAm trying to use 4 dynamic textfields in a Movieclip in flash cs5.2 of them are helveticaworld bold and other 2 are helveticaworld regular. I have embeded the 2 fonts and export foe Actionscript 3.0. But i can't get the correct font. it doesn't have bold.

I've purchased a flash template with an xml file that gives the path to the content to the .swf. This much i know! Also, I have all the source files! My issue is i would like to replace some of the images with video clips.

As you can see with the flash site there are 4 sides, i would like to add videos thumbs (these i can make screen shots) on the left hand side that says "BEDROOM". Then once you've clicked the video thumb the video is displayed in the middle like the photos. Do i have to alter the original .FLA file to add .mov or other video formats into the center area that displays the full image of the small thumbs? the size is 788px by 524px.
Furthermore, Scrolling half way down the xml page you will find [I]<page name="GALLERY">[/I] and then <image imageUrl="_pic3.jpg" link="http://www.yourcompany.com"/> is there xml code that i can add to put in the video?
Also, here i can change the photos but it seems only in this exact order. If i remove a line or add more photos to the sequence the order does not correspond when i refresh the .swf file.

I have a swf A, which contains no font.If I download into it the swf F1, which contains few characters of Arial, then I'll have the arial font embed into A, no problem with that.But if, then, I download the swf F2, which contains other characters of Arial into swf A, will I be able to use all the embed characters font, only the F2, or only the F1 ?I'd like to have a link to somewhere where this is explained, even in very technical terms : I wasn't able to find one.
EDIT : After few tests, it seems that the player replace the loaded font... How can I merge them, then ?
I m in process of developing a website which required to save the customized video, I want to know if there is any possibe way to embedd the audio and image in the swf in runtime so that it can be rendered to a video format via some 3rd party swf to video convertion tools.

without the swf extension. so in other words I need to know how to put a url in flash so instead of being
mysite.net/forum.swf I would need it to be just mysite.net
the reason I cannot load the file directly is because it will just loop and do nothing if I do... were as the url itself loads off of the whole site not just that one file and it works perfectly when I use just the url without the file in it.
I know this is possible with java script and possibly a couple other things such as xml... but I don't know how to do it. so if you can please let me know how I am to embed a website that is based on flash into a current swf, on the same server please let me know in detail how to do it... try and remember I am not very knowledgeable in java or even flash... so please be specific about what I need to do
i cant find info on this anywhere on google, even adobe's description doesnt work. basically i have figured out how to embed and access the children of a swf built in flash (YAY!!!), but theres another problem now.
a flex module complied to flash behaves differently, and embedding it doesnt seem to work, at all.
however this application pretty much depends on the modules being loaded with the main application so embedding the module is vital. i've tried countless techniques and so far the only thing i know woks so far is:

I am using flex sdk 4.5.1 and flash develop to compile my AS3 project. I have small images, about 12KB which is silly to load them using Loader class, so embeding is better solution.
However when this line at the top of my Main class is uncomented i get blank swf[URL]..(when i comment it out, the compilated swf is ok)
What could be the error. Why do I get the blank swf?
In my project i use swfs bundled with resources. These bundles are created from another utility application. Application creates an Package.as file with [Embed] tags puts all resources to the the same directory and runs mxmlc to compile bundle swf.
Bundled swf works like a charm. I can instantiate assets. however i want to implement another utility to edit these bundles ( to add and remove resources) Here is the problem. Since this bundle.swf is not created from Flash i cannot use:
[Embed ( source="oldbundle.swf", symbol="Package_res1" ) ] // ( "Package_res1" is class name of resource in bundle") in creating new swf. mxmlc returns symbol not found errors.
For bytearray assets i found a solution. I write bytearrays to disk, then use those files for embed.However i cannot do the same thing for vector graphics that were added as symbol from Flash swf into the original bundle. If i write bitmapdatas on disk i would lose vectorness ( Not sure if it is a word :) ). SVG is not a complete option to substute flash symbol.
Using as3swf, i inspected the bundle swf and saw SymbolClass tag. All of the assets are defined there. I don't know why embed tag cannot find the symbol. Difference with bundled.swf symbol and Flash swf symbol is, one extends SpriteAsset( an flex framework object) other extends sprite
What can i do to use older swf as embed source for new swf?
I've a flash movie that I would like to use inside of a flex application, very similar to a preloader.
Looking at this tutorial, [URL], I expected it would be a matter of not extending "Preloader" and extending "Sprite" and using the class i created wherever i needed.
Alas, the movie I created, is not being shown.

I'm rtying to attach swf file in html and calling its method from javascript and vice-versa. I got success in that but the problem is that when I'm trying to create that object(swf) inside the form tag in html i.e, like <form name = "applicationform" ><object classid = "classid:22d[URL].. and then in the script section I'm calling the method of actionscript then on running the web page I' getting error "object not supported".

A while ago, I created a replacement shell to run as a front end for a cybercafe. It was nothing fancy; just a flash movie that had button links to IE and a few trusted applications.
I'm trying to develop it further now and am wondering two things:
1. Is it possible to send an application to a frame within a movie? For example, have a static movie at the top with links, then when a button is pressed, the menu remains but the application opens below without overlapping. I know I can use HTML and frames but really want to keep it all in one movie/swf.
2. Is it possible to build on the above and have some sort of application lister that will allow you to switch between the two applications you have running. For example, a user may open IE, then open Word. Word has now replaced IE and I want the user to have a simple click button to go back to an existing window rather than open another instance from the menu.
Is possible to shutdown a exe file application when my Flash movie starts. For example, I have several Exe files, one open after another, but I want to close the first exe file. is there some kind of sfcommand quit project.exe ?

View 1 RepliesI am trying to make an interactive flash application that works by detecting mouse overs and clicks on various buttons/movie clips and then moves to the appropriate part of the time line. But I am having an issue when I use more than one addEventListener in any one frame. I have attached the code for one such frame below. When I comment out the addEventListner and the other code relating to the followBall function this works fine and directs the user to frame Inlet_Valve_Open_Frame but now only the followBall function is working and when i try to click on the Inlet_Valve_Button movie clip nothing happens.
I have never read all the help files on the adobe flash CS3 as i don't have time and i have built this code up based on examples i have found online. I wanted to include my fla file but it's to big 6Mb. But i have attached the swf so you have an idea what i am doing.

View 1 RepliesI have an AIR app that gets bundled with XML files that the app needs. These get put into the APP Storage Directory, of course. Works great. But when I install a new version ( which includes new XML files) , the new files don't get added or overwrite the ones from the previous version. It seems that if that directory is there from a previous install, the installer will ignore the part where it moves included files.

How can make user to go directly to the application page everytime they click the link posted by user who already use the application instead going to the canvas page applications. i'm been trying to look for the article that support saying that user will go directly to application directly to canvas application page instead of going to the application page.
I need to make my Flash application create a connection to a remote application and have the remote application send periodic updates to my Flash animation. The remote app is written in VB 6, and does not support XML sockets. However, I don't need the ability to send or receive XML since I am going to be overriding the onLoad() event anyway.
Or maybe I do need that ability... I'm having trouble getting my onLoad() event to trigger. Right now I'm just testing the onLoad event like this:

So, basically I'm trying to find out how I can format the data I'm sending it so that the onLoad() event triggers. I've read that the XMLSocket object listens for the Null byte, so perhaps the data I'm sending it doesn't terminate properly. I need a persistent connection from Flash to the VB app because the VB app will be the one initiating the updates to the Flash application. Is the XMLSocket the way to go here, or is there another class of objects that I'm missing?
