I'm having a problem with a button that should change the mouse pointer to an arrow when clicking it and, after while, turn it back to a hand cursor. I use the Button.useHandCursor method to acheive this. This works fine in the Flash IDE, but when testing in a browser, the mouse pointer won't change back to the hand unless i move the mouse. I've tried a LOT of stuff, including updateAfterEvent without any success.

The enemy class has a bitmapped embeded into it. I am using FlashDevelop to program. When I do something like enemy.x+=1 it works, but when I try using my tween it script the enemy stands still no matter what the position of the mouse.

I've got this project with a simple draggable custom scrollbar, my client wants to also incorporate mousewheel functionality. So I added that and it works fine, but I can't figure out how make the scrollbar move while using the scrollwheel on the mouse. I've tried a couple things but I'm not quite getting the math or the logic to make it work right.This is what I have for my code:

Flash8 :: Flash Source Editing - Program Moves Very Slow

I am having a problem with a flash source that I am editing: the Flash program moves very slow, it takes about 4-5 seconds to recognize that I have made a click or a selection. It is not all the time like this. When I open the source, it moves ok for a while but after a short time it becomes impossible to edit. When I try to make a selection, edit the library or even write a word in ActionScript, it takes 5 seconds to recognize that I am making this (during this period, the cursor turns to the loading state).

Have you had this problem ? What could cause this ? Could the flash source be damaged ? Or could this be caused by my computer ? I should mention that I do not have any problem at all with my other flash sources. One other thing that I should mention is that the flash source (a site that I am editing for a client) has about 14 mb in file size and the way that it is coded is not exactly efficient, far from it. Could this cause it ? One last thing to mention is that I have about 70 mb of free space on the drive on which I am running the Flash program from. The flash file is a Flash 8 format. I tried editing it using both Flash 8 and Flash CS3 but I have the same problem.

I'm wondering how I would go about making a Mouse Trace, on a line that's preset but my choosing to let people enter into my Flash and/or progress throughout it. Basically, I have a picture of say, the number 5, I want to be able to have people use the mouse cursor to trace the 5 from one end to the next, and once completed the sites move forward. Though, I will be using my company logo which is a bit more advanced than a single number or letter form. If no one is sure what I'm talking about I've added a picture to demonstrate what I'm trying to do. Another idea I have if this one can't be accomplished, is a slide bar.Basically, it would look like a timeline control in say, VLC, and I would have the user drag a button from one side to the next to unlock and move forward. Though that may seem a bit more simple that my main idea, I would also like to be able to get really advanced with this second function and make a series of slide bars, say, 3, and they have to be slid in a certain manner, like slide bar 1,3,2 then it unlocks and moves forward.

I have created a flash program and I would like to run a second flash program from inside the first. To explain, say I am running a program that draws a circle and fills it with a color. Then, I have designed a second program that will divide a circle into sectors by entering percentages, to turn that circle into a pie chart. Is there a way to be running the "draw a circle" program and have a button that opens the "divide the circle into sectors" program in a new window and then passes information from that program to the first program. I am sure I will have to send the information from the second program to an XML file and then have the first program recieve it from the XML file (which I can do), but I don't know if I can run the second program from inside the first program.

I have created a motion-tween with three images rotating in a flat circle from the foreground to the back. As the images move to the background, they shrink in size 25% and darken a bit. The motion has three stopping stages, with each image having a period in the foreground.

I am having an issue figuring how to make the images in the front to overlap those in the back as it rotates. I have tried placing each image on a seperate layer and placing the images on a single layer but it doesn't function the way I hope.

I tried to create simple animation from this Kirupa's tutorial My aim is to make a circle run from left to right and when it is almost to the edge it will move back to the origin point and it will loop only 3 times. So I came up with totally baby script like this:

It has been awhile since I have worked in flash.Right now I am working on something where I would like a panel to disappear when someone mouses off the stage.stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, leaveHandler); It usually works fine but if I move my mouse really fast it doesn't fire. I have also tried the same thing using a custom invisible button that surounds the perimeter of the stage and I have tried ROLL_OVER and MOUSE_OVERand again, if I do it too fast my event doesn't fire (I am using trace)I can't find anything on the net about this - is this typical of flash that if you move your mouse too fast you break it? Do I need to increase my frame rate (I would really rather not because I have perfectly timed animations - I am at 30 frames per second)

As of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.

Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.

I am trying to have two guestures on a SpriteVisualElement which I thought should be pretty simple implemented: Mouse_Move for sweep Gestures and mouse click to enable.. So I have 2 Eventlisteners on my stage:

The main problem is that every type of sweeping on the screen also fires the taphandler().. how to identify the correct event? I tried to to my taphandler only if(!event.buttondown) but no success.

well i want to make buttons that on rollover move to left, on rollout move back to their initial position, and if clicked, they but stay this time at the final rollover place, and be there until something else is clicked. When something else is clicked, the previous button , returns to its initial place. So i ve got it all figured out except for the freeze and move part when the buttons are clicked. All it does now , is when they are clicked they freeze at the position i want, but i havent got a clue how to update them, after so they start moving back, and reacting on rollover and rollout, when the next button is clicked.
