IDE :: Auto Complete In An AS File Is Not AS3 Options?
Sep 23, 2009
Posted this to the Adobe Support forum too, but so far, no luck there. My Flash CS4 installation on one computer is not giving me the auto complete choices it should for AS3. When I open an FLA for AS3, the ActionScript panel gives me the correct auto complete options for AS3.When I create a new AS file, link it to an AS3 FLA file, the auto complete options in the AS file are AS2 related and I cannot figure out why it's doing this or how to get my AS3 options back.I have some screen shots posted there to show what's happening.
For some reason, in the past few days, the auto complete feature doesn't work well when I'm creating a new class file. I'm trying to write a new class which uses away3D, and even though the auto-complete works well when I start a new AS3 file, it just doesn't work as far as away3D is concerned when I try to create a new AS3 Class file. Other features of the auto-complete don't work as well, for some reason.
my auto complete isn't working.ActionScript Code:import flash.display.MovieClipusing the above, if I type: import flash.display. there is only one item in the auto complete (BitmapData), when there should be a lot more than that. Why are they not showing?
i have a dictionary of words and would like to autocomplete as people writes i want to show the alternate word but what i have found lack of discrimination...if i type "an" in the list i'll have "announcement" and also "atlanta". there should be a way to limit the words based on the characters coincidents..
I've been working with Flash Builder for quite a long time, but just lately, developing a relative small project in Flex, when I try to auto complete the code sometimes the whole application crashes (keeps loading forever). It happened when I was writing <Style source="" /> or even when it was auto generating an handler for an event, so I guess it doesn't depend on the classes I use.
I need to make an auto complete component in flex that fetches the auto complete results from a remote database using a webservice. I have the webservice and querying part worked out. I've already made custom components in action script by extending VBoxes. However I cannot figure out how to generate the popup window that is supposed to show under the text input in my auto complete text box.
My question concerns the following tutorial I've been working through:Building a Flex Type-Ahead Text Input
I was successful in enabling a search of available terms using the characters entered in the input, but only irrespective of the location of the characters in the terms. However, I am wondering how one might have the characters match only the beginning of the terms.
For example, suppose I enter the string "app" into the text input. How can I get only "apple" and not, for instance, "pineapple" to appear as an option?
I am using Flash CS5 and I have created a large, rarely changing framework that I don't want to be recompiled every time I use it in my projects.I must be doing something wrong because the "auto-complete" functionality doesn't show the names of the parameters of the functions.For example, I have a function:
public class Hey { public function show(name:String, num:Number, data:Array):void {...} }
Im building a program that queries a database for options and displays the options in a number of comboBoxes. The comboBoxes are dynamically built and loaded via code and added to the stage. I would like to build the comboBoxes into a single movie clip (maybe not the correct wording) so I can use options like tweening and such to make it look better. The code is below.
I have a "loader.swf" after which my "main.swf" loades. I have used a loaderPro v3 (AS2) component. Doing that was easy but then when it starts loading, even before the loading completes the main.swf starts playing in the background. And i have no coding in my actions panel.
I have a tricky problem. I've been working on a flash quiz that uses a xml file to generate questions in a random order. Got that working fine. The Fla parses open the file and loads the nodes into dynamic text boxes.
I made a test where I download a file using URLLoader - something like this:
[Code]....
in the middle of the downloading process I physically disconnect the internet connection. the download stalls - but after aproximately 30 seconds downloadSuccessful is invoked, although only half of the data was downloaded. how can I make sure that the data to be downloaded is complete and correct?
I am loading in binary files with the url class which can be quite large 10mb + and it works fine on my server but another server I am testing on it can sometimes not work. Sometimes it will not load the file and other times it will only load about 20% and it throw a complete event??? Then of course other times it works fine. This server is https maybe that has something to do this it?
i have a swf file which i want to load into a fla file and export as a new swf file. I understand this part but my actionscript 3.0 code that i put on frame one of the timeline does not work. I have tried every version i have seen online including in adobe's actionscript 3 classroom in a book.... and other books..... i want the swf to run immediately so i dont think i need any event listeners since i am not clicking a button or anything like that... just running the swf at start.
Certainly it is not the best practice, but I need to load a file and get its contents within the same function call. That is calling the urlLoader.load function and then waiting (say with an while(true)) for the contents to load.
I am stuck with the fact that flash will not trigger events nor continue with the file loading until the current thread finishes. Is there any way to allow flash to make the file contents available without exiting the current method call.
On a side note, I know this is not a good thing to do. This is only for easing a process in a local environment in which I need the file contents without waiting for an event. If I let the process continue other events already queued will fire and becomes a mess. Sadly refactoring the code to wait altogether would be too much effort.
I want to extract each individual node from and XML file. I want to preserve the node data AND the attribute name and the attribute data. In short create a new XML that is a copy of the complete node.
I am sure this is pretty simple but whilst I keep getting close I seem unable to get it to work!
Im trying to get the grasp of classes and as3 and i got probably an easy question for someone with good as3 knowledge.Lets say i got a main.as and a class URLLoad.as that loads some external vars. In the URLLoad class i got a event.complete listener. So i know when the vars are finnished loading and everything works fine. But how do i know it has finnished loading the vars if i try to reach them from main.as file??? Whats the routine for doing this? Is it better to remove the event.complete listener to main.as file?
I am a bit stuck here for the past few days. I have a SWF running in Security.LOCAL_TRUSTED sandbox. I can load my JPEGs and simple SWFs without any problems
I've got a file upload that's working just fine except for the fact that the Event.COMPLETE event seems to take way longer than it should to fire. The Progress event is firing just fine and filling up the progress bar, and on top of that the entire file arrives on the server just fine, and way before the complete event fires. I've read I need to echo something back from the server, but I have no idea what that should be.
I have an online flash module I need to burn on a CD. I'd like this CD to be able to autostart. Right now it opens in a browser and I would like the index.html file to autostart. Does anyone know the best way to do this on PC and MAC?
I have an mp3 player called "juke.swf" that loads into my root and plays music form an XML file. I have another movie that loads called "scene-3.swf that holds a small gallery of movies". is there any way to make "scene-1.swf" auto-mute or turn down the volume of "juke.swf" when it loads, Then auto turn it back up after I click to another movie?
I have this problem, I'm creating an autorun cd content that it will autorun by itself when the the cd is inserted into the drive....The external video ( link using FLVplayback component) is suppose to play at the beginning and close by itself when when done
I have a skip button that will quit when the user click on it using: fscommand("quit");
My main concern now is how do I ask action script to close by itself when the video is done playing?

i got a few swf file and controlled by mainmovie.in my 2nd file i have something like thisthis is the frame label|text1 |text2 |text3how do i make my movie continously run from my mainmovie to text1 to text2 to text3 and back to my mainmovie.fyi i want to set timing like 1 minit per section.
I'm making an interactive film. At certain points within the film, the viewer has the ability to select from a few options that will direct them to an external video clip (they are flashback scenes). The main story pauses when the user selects a flashback scene and I'm clear on how to achieve this.
However, my issue is that once the flashback scene ends and the external video closes, I'm not sure how the main story will resume. Is it possible for it to auto-play (resume) in some way? My last resort would be to have the viewer select a play button - this is only because I do not want a break in the narrative and want to limit the amount of clicks the viewer has to make.
