IDE :: Make Some Buttons That Play Different Parts Of Multiple Movie Clips?

I am trying to make some buttons that play different parts of multiple movie clips- and also link to a url. I also want to be able to click on a movie clip and make it play starting from a certain point (this is what I have been working on) I have this code

_root.frogdance.stop();
froggy.onRelease = function() {
_root.frogdance.play(4);
}
it is on an actions layer of my main timline- I am not sure if I put it in the wrong place or what- but it doesn't do ANYTHING when I click on it when testing the movie. I gave the frogdance movie clip the instance name 'froggy' in the properties panel. The rest of what I am working with will be buttons that do things- but I also want this movie clip thing to work...

I have multiple movie clips on stage (all in separate layers, of course) as well as buttons on stage to play each movie clip. There are buttons inside each movie clip. The problem is that the buttons inside the top layered movie clip work, but the others in the movie clips below don't.

1. How can I start a movie clip while scrolling over a button? I know how to start a movie clip when a button is clicked.

I have set up a single, one-page resume/portfolio website, but I'm having difficulty finding a way to get the 2 individual movie clips to play individually - not at the same time.Everything is set up on a time line. Each movie clip has it's own layer with it's own button via Code Snippets as follows:

I have this page that has 8 movie clips, and I want to make these movie clips function as buttons. I got that part done already, but what I need now is the Rollover part. I made one separate animated movie clip that'll function as the rollover, so whenever a button is rollovered the animated movieclip will play on top of that button. So my question is how do you designate the one animated rollover movieclip to play on top of each separate button when they are rollovered on? Hope it's not too confusing to understand.

I'm trying to make a short clip = a website introduction - where feathers fall from above the stage eventually covering it completely. I've created movie clip with the animation (motion via motion tweens) - and what I'd like is for multiple instances of the Movie Clip to appear above the stage, then the Movie Clip to play, hence feathers falling randomly.I'd also like to put a time delay on the appearing of each new instance (ideally random) so that when the movie clip plays the falling feathers aren't perfectly synchronised (which they would be were all the instances to appear at the same time).I've tried playing with the scripts suggested in this thread with limited success: showthread.php3?t=259911(Also, I'd ideally like to change the tint on each movie clip (to a limited set of colours) instance to vary the colour of the feathers, but that's maybe a complication too far for the moment!

Suppose a MovieClip in as3 call myClip is 100 frames long and has labels at the following frames:0-start; 25-early; 50-mid; 75-late; 100-endCan someone explain (either using regular AS3 or with Greensock's TweenMax or TimelineMax) how to make my myClip play frames 0 to 25 then back to 0 again, and frames 100 to 75 and back to 100, Ideally would be able to loop over those ranges during a mouse ROLL_OVER event.

I am trying to make an interactive flash application that works by detecting mouse overs and clicks on various buttons/movie clips and then moves to the appropriate part of the time line. But I am having an issue when I use more than one addEventListener in any one frame. I have attached the code for one such frame below. When I comment out the addEventListner and the other code relating to the followBall function this works fine and directs the user to frame Inlet_Valve_Open_Frame but now only the followBall function is working and when i try to click on the Inlet_Valve_Button movie clip nothing happens.
I have never read all the help files on the adobe flash CS3 as i don't have time and i have built this code up based on examples i have found online. I wanted to include my fla file but it's to big 6Mb. But i have attached the swf so you have an idea what i am doing.

I am creating a stand alone DVD to be used with Flash player. I am wanting to add different videos that play with different buttons. The following is the code I have for the video to play when the corresponding button is clicked..... My problem is how do I get that video to "leave" and stop playing when another button is pushed to play a different video.

I Have 3 Movies:MAIN.SWF, contains loading movie actions for Nav.swf and Home.swf.NAV.SWF, contains navagation menu loaded on Level 2 in Main HOME.SWF, contains slideshow for home page loaded on Level 1 in Main In NAV.SWF, there is a MOVIE CLIP "graphmc", which contains a BUTTON "graphicbtn", When this button is clicked, I'd like the HOME.SWF (which is loaded into Main.swf on Level 1) to fade out and unload, and load and fade in Graphics.SWF in place of it.

I have 5 boxes on the stage as movie clips, each one with the same animation waiting to be targeted. What I need is a random script that will make them play in "random" order. This should occur after a few seconds of inactivity where they each play, but once there's mouse movement, whichever ones did animate should "reset" or play back to their original positions, (assuming there's more boxes and there's movement before all of them play). I have some code in there for arrays and some random script that isn't working right now. I just need the random setup, really. I may be able to figure out the time delay, (maybe), and then be able to tweak the rest of it for how I need. Right now, I've just simplified everything in a 5 box example hoping someone might be able to work with what I have.

i'm trying to play several movie clips, one after the other from one main movie clip.i've got 8 movie clips, "m1.swf", "m2.swf", etc. "m8.swf", and one main movie clip, "play.swf".i've tried using loadMovie, but it only plays the last movie clip. this is what i've got. in the main movie clip, i've put a play button, and the actionscript i have in the button is:

I have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline.However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well.Here is the code I have so far:

how to imitate a reflection of a movie clip in a "mirror." I don't know if I should have the initial movie clip on custom cursor or have it set to drag... but either way I don't know how to make the second clip the "reflection follow along. Obviously it would need to follow at a slightly offset pattern so that you would be able to see both clips (or majority of them) at the same time. It's for a school project that is due at 9am tomorrow so time is of the essence!!

I was wondering about the flexability of loading movies into a movie clip. Currently, I am well able to load one movie into a movie "loader" clip, but thought maybe there is a way to load additional movie clips into that same "loader" clip, as i am starting to accumulate several different graphics that i need to have be inside movie clips so that i can make them change colors on the same frame when needed.
i shot from the hip and tried this code, but didnt have any luck:

I have a flash movie with 3 buttons I am trying to link relativley to pages within my site, I have one working fine but can't get the others to link and when I try it makes the one that is working, work no more..

i just started tackling Flash and Actionscript 3.I know how to have a button react to a click by going to and playing (gotoAndPlay) a certain set of frames within the same scene [code].themselves are in a movie clip, and the "aboutpage" frames are in another movie clip back outside in the main timeline... Basically, my main time line has a few layers and just a few frames. On each frame there is a different movie clip. Buttons are on a seperate layer on the main timeline, each button initiating a gotoAndStop for each frame, linked via frame labels which are on yet another layer.
Now, here's my problem. I'm happy with each movie clip looping endlessly, all except for the second last one.
What I want to do is, make it so that when this said Movie clip finishes playing it automatically (i.e no mouse events) gotoAndStops on the proceeding movieclip.

I have connected 2 pages to the index page with movieclips and buttons. I have used this action script on the button "fotoalbum"; [code]This takes me to the page called "bilder".My question is: how do i get from the flashpage "bilder" directly to the other page called " tekst" using the button "om meg"? I'm creating a timeline of events with about 50 different points to click on. When each event is clicked on, a movie clip needs to appear (or tween onto) the screen. Then, when another event is clicked on, the previous content needs to go away so that the new content can appear.
A prefect example of what I'm talking about can be seen here:

I've created a custom class of "TimePoint" that has a public property of date, so that I can assign a date to each individual instance of my TimePoint class.
In my fla, he timeline itself is a movie clip that needs to scroll back and forth as the mouse is moved. It contains the nested instances of my TimePoint class. I already have the scrolling movement taken care of, and I also have a tooltip date appearing over each point in time. Now I just need to figure out how to manage 50 different movie clips, each with and without graphics, bitmaps, etc.
I'm just wondering if there is any way to do this without having to create 50 different event listeners and 50 different classes just so that I can add/remove children. I'm thinking I need to use an array, but I don't know how I would implement it. I'm also not very familiar with XML.

For my online gallery, I'm using movie clips as buttons to navigate. I was having the movie clip play when you scrolled over it and off of it. Now i have it so when you click on it, it stops at the mid-way point. What on is to get it to go back to its original state when I click on something else. So basically I'm looking for a way to go back to frame 1 when a different movie clip/button is clicked on. I want it to revert back to what it was in an inactive state when I click on a different part, but I don't know how to do that
