Media Server :: Used Integrate Video Conferencing Functionality Into A 3rd Party Sites?

Aug 23, 2009

I'm building a website that will allow 2 different users to meet in a secure, private video conference. Wondering if our develpoers can use the Flash Media Server to integrate this functionality into our site? Here are requirements that we need to support:Scheduled video conferences:* User1 an click "start video session" link and are put into a video conference room* If someone who is not the user1 or user2 clicks link, throw "You don't have access to this chat" error

I need to design a Flash based web conference service. One requirement is it should allow multiple users to speak concurrently like a normal conference call facility does. However, I'm wondering whether Flash has any support of such mechanism. Can multiple client publish their Mic object to the same stream hosted by the FMS and get mixed together there? Or, rather, I have to create multiple streams for each speaker to publish to respectively and instruct every audience to subscribe all of these sterams and do the mix on the receiver side?

Media Server :: LCCS Functionality With Flash Media Server 4

Nov 4, 2010

I'm now using the LCCS account in my application to create p2p audio/video connections and screen sharing. Audio/video streaming is working well. However screen sharing uses RTMP protocol which means that all the data goes through the server. Due to network speed (and big distance from user1 -> LCCS server -> user2) screen sharing isn't very enjoyable and efficient because of delays. Now I wonder how to implement my own Flash Server, that users can authenticate to, publish p2p streams, and share their screens via my private server. I Assume that I need Flash Media Server 4 Enterprise (Am I wrong? Maybe some lower version applies), but what next. I completely don't know how to bite it. How to implement connecting/ authenticating/ routing/making connections to my own server?

Media Server :: Converting Flash Sites To IOS Via FMS Or Wallaby

Oct 4, 2011

Having some sites on flash (SWFs, not necessarily with video content), is it possible to convert them on the fly by FMS into streams compatible to iOS's Safari? I didn't find any info about this in the documentation. The idea is to show video-"presentation" instead of actual site, when the site is shown to a client without Flash support. Also, is it ok to install Wallaby on the same Windows server where FMS was installed? I just want to make sure these two product do not interfere somehow. We are going to check all possibilities for sites converion to Apple platform.

Media Server :: How To Install All The FMS 4.5 Functionality

Sep 24, 2011

I attempted to Install FMS 4.5 with all its modules by installing apache seperately from the FMS installer on Linux However the installation notes do not specify how or where to get the information on how to install all the FMS 4.5 functionality such as HLS to Apple/IOS. But this is the part that messes me up if I install YOUR version of apache then it is supported. Now correct me if I'm wrong because this was the case the last time I tried to install your version of apache. Last time I installed your bundled version of apache and then attempted to install PHP for apache with the modules GD,php_mysql and it didn't work. I attempted to make it work for days. So please tell me how do I install PHP,PHP_GD and PHP_MySql on your bundled version of apache? Also How do I install FMS 4.5 including HLS for Apache on Linux/ Windows that is not bundled or for Microsoft IIS ?

Flash :: Media Server - Send Video And Audio Data To A Media Server By Using RTMP Protocol

Jul 22, 2010

I'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.

I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.

Media Server :: Recording Video/audio Files Using Flash Media Server Through Rmtp, And Allow Users To Access The Recorded Files Through Http?

May 25, 2009

As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http? What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?

Media Server :: FMS4 - Change The Default Path (rtmp://serverName/vod/ To Rtmp://serverName/sites/)?

Jan 14, 2011

We had FMS2 installed before and the paths to all our videos are like rtmp://ServerName/sites/.... (the default path on FMS2) Now we upgrade to FMS4 and we would like to keep these paths the same because we have many HTMLs that reference these videos. However, the default path on FMS4 is rtmp://ServerName/vod/... Is there a way to change "vod" to "sites"?

I tried to change VOD_COMMON_DIR in fms.ini from /install_dir/webroot/vod to /install_dir/webroot/sites, and also changed the document root in httpd.conf, but rtmp://ServerName/sites/ is still not working.

When I play it on the client side the video plays just fine, but when I call Stream.play(filename, 0, -1, false) on the server side the video turns out really choppy.I both cases I use NetConnection to connect to an rtmp and NetStream to play the stream, but in one case I connect to a stream and request the server to play my file on that stream. Apparently that doesn't work with files? It works just fine for live streams.
