Aug 7, 2011I've been looking around like a forensic scientist piecing together information for my latest project. Basically I need to display a particular webpage within my flash file... Now I know flash can display simple HTML, but nothing complex and nothing from an external source... BUT I know flash can also handle PHP - obviously. The page I need to load is a wordpress website, a combination of PHP codes and simple HTML snippets... but what I couldn't find was a way of inserting the snippets into a control box or movieclip on my page (actually run the PHP code to fetch HTML snippets).

I have embedded the fonts and I'm using Flash CS5 and I have selected Classic Text/Dynamic Text.

It would be easy to embed into an html webpage but I need it in a flash webpage that I am building...I figured I could put the whole thing into a movie clip and stop on that frame and the carousel animation would work fine but all it does is loop my animation... Even with the "stop();" at the end... My skills are pretty basic in Actionscript...

Aug 31, 2009I'm trying componentize one of the pieces of UI in an AIR application that I'm developing in Flex. In this example, I want to display file information on a single line (which has an icon, some text/link and the size).
My code looks like this (component is called FileDisplay):

However, when I do this, I get an error: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. This is because the child components of the FileDisplay are null (or at least they show up that way in the debugger). Am I supposed to be waiting for events indicating the child components were created? For now I can manually do everything in ActionScript in my main app (create a Canvas and add children to it) but how to separate the code more cleanly.

Aug 19, 2010I make a dynamic textfield, specify it's instance, then assign it a string or variable with AC, but often the dynamic text will not display all the text or variables. For example, I say
warning.text = "Please do not enter more info than necessary.";
Yet what appears onscreen, is:
"lease do not enter more ino tan neesary."
This happens no matter how big I make the text area, or how small I make the text, so I don't get why it's not all viewed. (Btw When I copy from the textfield I do get all the text)

Feb 7, 2012I need to make a Flash animation fullscreen. After a bit of research it seems I can only feasibly do this via a browser, since the Windows 7 preview does not support fullscreen.

However, I'm having a problem embedding the flash file into a simple HTML document. The file is called "LaBoheme.swf" and is stored in the same directory as my HTML file. Hence, here is my code;
