View 2 RepliesI've been fiddling around with After Effects and Flash, exporting tracking data from the former and using it to distort a bitmap in the latter:- [URL]The test works well locally; though online I run into problems where the tracked bitmap slips from the FLV on which it sits.What binds everything together is an FLVPlaybackComponent firing CUE_POINT events, which provide the location of the four corner points used by an instance of Flash Sandy's DistortImage class.
It's not about jerky playback. It's about the bitmap remaining synchronised with the FLV, regardless of playback integrity. It's almost as though the CUE_POINT event isn't being fired when the FLV stutters (next thing to check after the weekend).
Is there anything I can do, has anyone experienced anything similar, or am I reliant on the host being able to serve the FLV at sufficient speed (out of interest, the video is currently coming from a dedicated video streaming server?
i've been following a tutorial based on webcam motion tracking however the tracker only follows on an X axes basis and i want it to follow around the Y axes as well, so it tracks all around the screen.

View 2 RepliesTracking software requires that you insert their code into the page you want to track (I'm using StatCounter). I installed a Flash website template and it just has one .html file where I can insert the code. That tracks visits to the first page with no problem but if a visitor clicks on different pages of the site, it doesn't get tracked. Does anyone know how and where to add code so that each page of the Flash site can be tracked?
Note, in my template a part of each page is found in different symbols. For example, the first column of every page is located in a symbol called PAGES1 and the second column of every page is located in a symbol called PAGES2, and the third column located in PAGES3. Different layers within each symbol correspond to the different pages. So I'm at a loss of how I could get this tracking code to be able to track each page visit, since each page shares a symbol with another page.
I have tried to find tutorials on how to use Flash CS5 motion presets, but could not find anything in english. Can some one please point me to any? I type in text on the screen and while the text is selected, I pick smoke from the preset menue, and I got the following error... I even made the text into a symbol.

after I create a motion tween, why is it that I don't always see the path of that tween? It seems that I've got to shuffle stuff around a bit before I actually see the colored path. Is there some trick to this?

In a flash movie I want three lines of text where I want line1 to appear with a preset motion, then line2 directly below line1 to appear with a preset motion, then line3 directly below line2 to appear with preset motion. View 5 RepliesI really like the motion editor in CS4. A lot is easier than before, particularly working with ease. But I wounder how you use the custom curve when having a complicated motion with a lot of keyframes. In programs like AE it's easy to select a key and tell if it's going to be a easy in/out or both, and then I select next key and tell how that key should ease. In Flash CS4 I allways get a easy curve that range the entire tween. Is the workflow to brake everything apart so you tween every single motion, or is it another way doing it?

View 5 RepliesI am trying to move the instance in a particular path, but by the time I finish defining the entire path, the first few points all go astray. I then completed only 5 change points, but by then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th point were all astray, as in, not in the position I had originally defined them.
I am very frustrated with this as I have been working on this file for ages now, and nothing of this sort happened before. I have redone the tween atleast five times but it still acts weird by the time i move ahead a few frames.
I created a motion tween. I stried to put an action script, stop();, at the end of the tween but it says "Current selection cannot have actions applied to it.". How do I stop the tween then?
View 15 RepliesI am new to flash and working on creating a simple animation. I have the objects ready, but problem is I can't seem to get motion tween working. Following this, I tried a very basic motion tween just increasing the size of text from one frame to another and can't get even this to work. I followed the basic steps, converted the text objects to symbol etcetera. What is seen is for frames 1-9 there is no change and in frame 10 there is sudden change in size. I also notice that there is no 'arrow' observed in the tween as shown in a sample tutorial.
View 10 RepliesI'm finding it useful to add labels to my timeline so I can easily see where animations start and stop for different symbols. However, I can not seem to label sections that are motion tweened. The entire motion tween section is selected when I just click on any section of it. Even if I use CTRL + click to select a single frame, there is no option for "label" in the properties window like there are for other frames. It shows the motion tween options.So is there a simple way to label a motion tween?
View 2 RepliesI have an object with 500 Frames. I gave it a Motion Tween. Now I want to cut it down to 100 frames,without changing the Tween duration. Usually you can insert a blank keyframe, or remove the last 400 frames on that layer. But since it's a Motion Tween you cannot?
WTH is going on with Flash's timeline editor, this is ridiculously unintuitive.
i am using CS4 on a PC, and I have created my motion guide layers as I normally do, created a path, but when I scrub the playhead, the symbol just goes from point A to point B without follwing my guide. Also they are not snapping to the guide. I have not done a motion guide in a while, what am I missing here. Also where is the pallete to turn on object orienting?
View 1 RepliesI have created a motion tween in Flash and want to slow the speed of the tween towards the end, so my image doesnt stop suddenly. I applied a slow ease which was working previously but has now decided to stop working and I cannot get it to work again. The strange thing is when I change the ease value from 100 to -100, so the ease is applied to the start of the motion, that works fine, but when I change it back to 100 the ease wont apply to the end of the motion

What I need to do now is take all of these frames and put them together to make the video. I tried manually doing it, but it came out all shaky. View 2 RepliesI have watched movies of people using the motion editor, I have read books, I have even consulted the cursory help that Adobe offers. Nothing I do generates Bezier handles that i can see, although the motion lines show evidence of bezier-liek modification. What happens seems largely random.
Just as random is the scatter of keyframes. Put a symbol on the stage. Add a motion tween, Move it to a new location: fine, it works. Bend the path, and look in motion editor: suddeenly, dozens fo keyframes. Prod them with the mouse and they distrot, but with no obvios controls. Shift moves them, Cntl deletes them, Alt does god knows what, but evokes the path edit tool from Photoshop.
The documentation on this package is extremely poor. However, self-teaching is impossible as the system is not at all intuitive. If you don't know that you are supposed to toss salt over your left shoulder whilst pushing Alt-Scroll Lock, you don't see what tehbooks describe. But they always leave out that little detail. Adobe's videos are of the same style - too smallto seeproperly, all done at a tremendous pace by a laconic individual with the teaching capabilities of a firing squad.
So: please, ayone, how doo you get the Bezier handles to appear? Where does one find a decent set of documentation? Why does Flash help keep referring to Illustrator?

View 11 RepliesI created a custom Motion Preset, and saved the corresponding swf file to .../adobe/adobe flash cs4/Common/Motion Presets. When I looked for the xml file, nothing. The preset does show within the Motion Preset Panel under Custom, but no preview. I also search for the xml within the .../en/Motion Preset directory as well.re this preset file may be hiding. I'm on a PC and all applications located within my Program Files directory.
View 6 RepliesWhy are the scale x and y options grayed out on the motion editor? I tried editing width and height (W&H) in the "properties panel" under "position and size" and all that does is move the position my object diagonally for some reason, not scale the size. Also, when i do this, the Width number does not change, but the x and y position numbers above it change. Strange!
View 3 RepliesI just jumped from cs3 to cs5 and i'm curious about some behaviors of motion editor. I made a motion tween with some keyframes on x and y. I open the motion editor and try to convert those keys on x and y channels to Smooth points. Motion editor shows now nice curves on x & y but nothing changes on stage. The motion of my movie clip is not changed in anyway. Its like those keys are still Corner points. No smooth motion. Of course I can change the motion path straight from the stage or create a custom ease to smooth motion.

I am trying to learn how to add backgrounds using greenscreens, maybe put images/videos(animated and/or realistic) of things like fire, lasers, etc. and I'm just wondering, does Adobe supply some sort of program that could allow me to do this? I just don't even know where to begin. I've taken a course in Flash animation and so I'm familiar with what it can do, I'm just not sure if I'm able to add images I've created in Flash to a stop motion film in another editing program.
View 1 RepliesI am still making some language flashcards. there are about 20 on the page. when i click the card it is supposed to 'flip' so you can see the translation. the first card does pretty well but then as I continue to the next cards, the tween becomes worse and worse. for some reason as the card flips, its dimensions get thrown off and it becomes really wide or really tall. I want the flip to be a strictly horizontal flip over the y axis. What am I doing wrong?
