Professional :: Moving A Mask Frame By Frame With Motion Tweens?
Jul 26, 2011
I making an animation for a preloader.In the animation, a 'line' draws a picuture.There are many lines,and I would like a mask to follow the lines so that it appears that they are being drawn.There are so many that it would be difficult to do this manually by moving a mask frame by frame with motion tweens.
i'd like to control MovieClip timeline witch contain several DisplayObject (like Sprite, Button, ...) these DisplayObject have Motion (AnimatorFactory). How can i do seek frame-by-frame the MovieClip Timeline and use the currentFrame to control all Motion child.
But my problem is that i have a motion tween that startes at frame 5 and ends at frame 25. And the code says that at will go to and stop at frame 25.what I really want it to do, is to go to frame 5, play the motion, and stop at frame 25.
In the old motion model it was as easy as highlighting all of the frames, converting them to keyframes then removing the tween. But I have no clue how to do it with the new motion model.
i am trying to make a system of where you have game lives, and all my levels are on located on diffrent frames, so what my problem is that i want to be able to grab a variable from a previous frame and bring it to the current frame.
I have 10 images in 10 frames ( 1 image per frame ). So I'm trying to make the frame to go to the next one when the mouse is moved to the right, and make the frame to go to the prev one when the mouse is moved to the left.
I have a lot of Flash files for which I need to export jpgs of their last frame. write a command for moving the timeline's playhead to the last frame, then exporting a jpg (at Full Document Size, 72 dpi, 96% quality)?
I am making a project and using XML to bring in the data externally. However i have ran into a little snag. My code to query the XML works, but if i don't start with the first button, the rest of the buttons dont work.
If i click on the first button which takes you to a new frame and loads in the XML data into a text area the rest of the buttons will work and go the frame they are supposed to and work as intended.
However if i do not click on the first button first, the button will take you to the frame that it is supposed to take you to but the XML does not load.
The buttons are on a grid and are supposed to be clicked in any order and bring open the right information, which is why this is a problem.
here is the code that is on the second frame. All the other frames look just like this one but with the names changed to fit the names of the buttons.
Quote:
//this makes the xml request var jeapordy_xml:XML; var xmlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("Jeapordy.xml"); var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
I was told that putting code on buttons is bad practice now. So, I'm trying to move my button codes to my main actionscript frame. I did it find with the play and stop/pause buttons. However, the rewind and forward buttons are proving more difficult How would the code look if I transferred it from my button to my actionscript frame I'll post the code I have right now in my rewind button.
I am still making some language flashcards. there are about 20 on the page. when i click the card it is supposed to 'flip' so you can see the translation. the first card does pretty well but then as I continue to the next cards, the tween becomes worse and worse. for some reason as the card flips, its dimensions get thrown off and it becomes really wide or really tall. I want the flip to be a strictly horizontal flip over the y axis. What am I doing wrong?
I created an animation with various symbols and motion tweens, mostly on outer level timeline. At the end, I realized the resolution was too low for a quality quicktime export. After scaling the canvas from 550x400 to 1650x1200, I tried scaling the rest of the objects using the "edit multiple frames" brackets, but every scene I try to do this to, only a few of the frames are scaled. They start scaling and moving around all over the place fluctuating between the original and new positions. So i have to go back and manually scale/reposition the tween spans. Am I doing something wrong with the edit multiple frames thing or something? Or is there an easier way to do this I haven't seen?
I am wanting to create a button that, when pressed, will make an image move along the X axis. However, I want several other buttons to move that object along the X-axis to other locations regardless of where it is currently.
I want the object to move from one spot to a second spot, stop, and then move from that new location to either its previous spot or a new spot.
Basically having multiple buttons controlling where 1 or more image goes. I have seen banners that will scroll horizontally when you click different Menu buttons. The banner slides along the X-axis and stops to reveal the name of the new page on the banner (i.e. Home, About Us, Contact Us, etc.). When another menu button is pressed, the banner slides again to reveal the new title page name (ie. Home, etc).
I've been going over several tutorials and whatnot and I'm confused on the point of movie clip symbols and motion tweens. To me using the other tweens and symbols are "easier". Can someone explain to me why they're so beneficial to have been added to CS4/CS5? Except I understand that movie clip symbols can be adjusted using the 3D tools but is that the only difference?
I'm writing a JSFL script to export animations from Flash. I iterate through every frame in the timeline, and for each frame I go through every element in every layer, and write each Element's symbol name and matrix values out to a file. The problem is, if you've created animation using a motion tween, the exporter steps through every frame but sees the same matrix values for each Element in every frame. This is where I hit the first problem: Iterating through the timeline in this way doesn't seem to work. I can't see any way of getting the right information out for each frame.
There is a workaround: Namely, selecting all the animated layers on the timeline, and selecting "Convert to Frame by Frame animation" from the context menu. Then you run the exporter, and then you have to undo the "Convert to Frame by Frame" animation in order to continue working on the file. That's pretty messy, so I tried to automate the process, by having the export script perform the convert to frame by frame. When you perform the action, and look it up in the History window, Flash tells you that the JSFL command it used was the following:
i've been looking around for answers to my problem to no avail. What I want to do is create a powerpoint style presentation. But rather than change slides, I have one large "graphic" that I am moving around and zooming into by "motion tweening" Now all I need to do is: (with a keyboard event) start the motion tween and then let it play out then start the next motion tween and let it play out and so on. all i have is this, which allows me to start and stop it when it is tweening, but isn't as effective as it stopping at then end of a motion tween, then allowing me to push a key and for it to go to the next "slide"
I have a Sprite that will do nothing more than move from the left side of the screen to the right side (think of a truck in Frogger!).I trigger that tween randomly, so it will get called multiple times. The strange thing happening is that when I do it like this:
Code: var fahren:Tween = new Tween(truck,'x',None.easeNone,-50,600,50);
it tends to get to a point where it just freezes and nothing is happening anymore (although the rest of the app is still running).When I tell the tween to use seconds instead:
Code: var fahren:Tween = new Tween(truck,'x',None.easeNone,-50,600,2,true);
I have a transparent png bubble in movie clips that are being randomly sized and animation started using code. The design has a reflection and I am using a gradient mask for the effect. The issue is when the bubbles animate they are causing drawing artifacts. Please see the attached screen shot or you can see the swf here - Code: bottomMask.cacheAsBitmap = true;beaker_bottom.cacheAsBitmap = true;beaker_bottom.mask = bottomMask;
How do you stop an ENTER_FRAME event after two tweens have executed?I have an AS3 package-based-classes Flash website loading nicely. The very last effect is the hover or active state for the button for the current page to tell the user what page they're on. I want the button's active state to execute using an ENTER_FRAME event and NOT using a Timer method. Mainly because I'd simply like to know how it's done and also because I've already used several timers to load the API. But, using the code below, I can't stop the ENTER_FRAME precisely after two tweens have fired - the Alpha tween and the Tweener that pulls the a blur effect into focus.[code]
I've tried several IF and ELSE IF conditions to tell Home.removeEventListener(Event. ENTER_ FRAME, OverState); exactly when to occur but the IF conditions either removeEventListener too soon, before the two tweens have fired, or the IF conditions just don't execute at all and the ENTER_FRAME trace continues on ad infinitum. You can use IF conditions that precisely operate on stage X and Y positions. But I can't figure out how to make an IF condition execute precisely after the two Tweens.How do you stop an ENTER_FRAME event PRECISELY after two tweens have executed so that Home.removeEventListener( Event.ENTER_ FRAME,OverState); executes at exactly the right point?
I have a opening movieclip that starts playing for my background and then I have two buttons that come up on moues over event, that if clicked on start one of my two longer Movie Clips that I have as progressive download through a flvplayer on Key frame 2 & 3. I have all that working but I want it to go back to the start or keyframe 1 when the clip is done playing so I can use the same opening menu to click on the second movie clip can some one give me any tips on how to get to go back to the start when the movie is done.
I've been following the book "Beggining Flash Programing for Dummies" and I have come up to a part where I create a very simple game. The script involved in the frames are FRAME here:
I am making a frame by frame animation, where I draw a character, make a new frame and use the onion skin to slightly move my character. Is there a way to make a certain part faster than others? I made a character prepare to kick someone, but since i was doing it frame by frame it looks slow. So instead of taking out frames and making it look choppy, how do I make a certain part faster or increase its FPS? I tried making a new scene and changing its FPS, but that still changes the overall FPS.
I am in the learning process. Working with FlashCS5 and AS3. if the issue appears to be too simple for you. Placed a movieclip(mcassessJohn) on the main timeline and moved to the frame labelled "johnFeedback" in the movieclip timeline using the following actionscript code.
I'm building a flash application where the user can play multiple 30 sec .flv movies (one at a time) in slowmotion by pressing or holding down the left and right arrows keys.The user can hold/press "keypress right" to move to the next (key)frame and "keypress left" to move to the previous (key)frame in the .flv files.I have tested embeeding one .flv movie to the stage and it's working fine.But since I will be using many flv's I want to load the .flv's dynamiclly (on button clicks) using netstream or FLVPlayer. Would it be possible to step beetween keyframes in the same way if the .flv's are loaded dynamiclly? Or, must I embeed each .flv file into separate swf's and then dynamiclly load the swf's to my main stage?
I'm trying to do a work around for a 9-slice animation problem, [URL] and I'm doing a shape tween within a MC... but when I place the animated movieclip on the stage, it displays the first frame of the animated movieclip, and it would be much more useful for it to display the LAST frame of the animation. I feel like there was some way of choosing the stage-display frame of the movieclip in the past, but can't find any way of doing this in CS5?
So I made a ridiculously long Flash animation, but now I have to break down to certain parts. It's all made in one scene.
My question is can I start the playhead on a frame other than frame 1. Say frame 595, I've tried gotoAndPlay(595);, but to no avail. I've searched for a good 2 hours on this too. Is something so simple not possible in Flash?
I have created a racing game and over all i got 3 frames and about 10 main layers.. i have tried so many scripts now and they're not working .The game begins on frame 2 while the main menu is on frame 1.Not sure if it matters but i have the menu copied on all the frame 1's of all the layers...
