Apr 2, 2010I'm trying to work with a very long image that scrolls through a page. Piecing it together, it's roughly 12000 pixels wide. I can't view the image because the pasteboard seems to only be around 3000 pixels. Is there a way to increase pasteboard size?

Sep 16, 2010I exported a swf file of my animated Flash banner, and my one of my images (a PNF file I imported into my Library, and drug to my Stage) is larger than the stage area. When I expand the window of Flash Player of my swf file, I see the boundary area of my banner, but the rest of my image is visable outside of the banner area.Imagine just the tip of an iceberg is what I want within my banner, but the ENTIRE iceberg is visale beyond the set size of my stage...that's the best way I can explain it. Is this something to do with PNG files in Flash

May 28, 2007I'm using a very wide object in Flash CS3, and I didn't have a problem with the pasteboard automatically expanding to contain it in Flash 8 Pro, but apparently CS3 has limits as to how far it'll let the pasteboard expand, -2880 px to 3620 px or thereabouts. This means I have to move my object off of x:0 y:0 to work with it. This won't kill me, but it does seem to be a step down from Flash 8. Anyone have any news on why this change was made, and if there's any way to correct it?

Nov 7, 2010I am new to Flash so please bare with me, I have some items that start in my movie and then go onto the pasteboard as well as Items that are on the pasteboard that I do not want to show in my movie, but when I test movie everything is showing including the items on the pasteboard... how can I just make my movie show the stage size and not the extra stuff leaving the stage and on the pasteboard?
Additionally, I have created a series of classic tweens in one layer starting on frame 30 through frame 60. How can I shrink just those frames and scale the tweens with them so they are proportionate to what I had originally?
Within MovieClip - Pasteboard Turns To Color Of Stage
Jul 14, 2009Flash CS4. When I enter a movie clip to edit the timeline the pasteboard turns to the color of the stage. The result: I can't see the edges of my stage. This is only within the MC. And only within one particular MC (I created another one and the pasteboard stayed 4% gray). When I take the content in the bad MC (via copy frames) and move it to the good one, the same thing happens: Pasteboard turns to the color of the stage. I've tried SFT-CTL-ALT double click. No luck. Strangely, this isn't happening in every FLA. I know it must have something to do with the content on that timeline, but what that is I have no idea.

May 1, 2010I'm doing some tests and I'm trying to create a simple presentation. It's not something I'll be using online. I just want it to present some things at school. Since I don't know the resolution of the monitor at school, I wanted something I could max the window and rest with the content (stage) centered. At start, everything was working fine but sudenly the stage started to be aligned to top left when exported and windows maximized. Here's my code:

The bkg.swf is an external background I'm using... it ajusts it's size to fill all the window automaticaly. When I first wrote this code, it was working fine. Than I added some objects and MC's to the stage and now whenever I export the file it's aligned to the top left of my window.
Professional :: Preloader - It Only Becomes Visible As Around 80%?
Sep 20, 2010I have my preloader which seems to be working correctly, however it only becomes visible as around 80%. So the page is blank up until then, then after that the loading bar is finishing and then goes to the rest of the site.

Mar 9, 2011I just need to work on a roll out effect, I have it so if the mouse rolls of the button before the second image is up, it fades out. That is good. But when the second image IS up, the mouse rolls off the button and then the 2nd image fades out, but the 1st images shows up and also fades out. How can I prevent this from happening so it is always only the visible image that will fade out.

Feb 16, 2009I have a swf with a link which loads another swf, the second swf is not visible unless you refresh the page or "back out and go in" again. have a look at [URL] If you click on the image labeled "Television" you should see the new swf but all you see is the television image link in the lower left (this is correct as you use this to (back out) return to the main swf. If you then go back and try again the new swf shows.

At the minute they are all just coming on together, how do i seperate the functions so they come on individually, for example like bullet points, e.g click once and image1 appears, click again and image2 appears etc... so eventually all of the images are on screen, but they don't all just appear together, if that makes sense!

Flex :: Preloader Has To Be Visible Until Other External File Loaded
Jun 13, 2011I have a Flex application that loads some data from the database. During this I want my custom preloader stay visible. When I postpone the dispatchEvent( new Event(Event.COMPLETE)) in the FlexEvent.INIT_COMPLETE handler, the loading will never happen because the next frame is not entered. How can I keep the loader running until all the data is fully loaded?

Mar 4, 2011I understand that in order to make it consume less CPU cycles flash player forces the player to only execute at 2fps (or some other ridiculously low amount) when the swf is no longer in focus (or even if it's still "in focus" but not being rendered to the screen by virtue of being in a section of the browser window that's scrolled offscreen.) Is there any possible way to change this? I have a 3D engine that needs to keep the FR up.

If I go to publish settings and untick include hidden layers on the flash tab, when I test movie, my cars don't appear along the guide lines at all and just pop into view as movie ends. How does one hide turned off visibility layers during test movie without affecting hidden guide lines ?

Aug 18, 2010I am currently creating an online portfolio using Slideshowpro [URL]. For some of my pictures I am using (external) captions from a XML file, inserted into a dynamic textfield. As some of the captions contain a lot of text I decided to add a UIScrollBar. However, when there is no text (no caption) available, I want the scrollbar to be hidden. Also if there is not enough text to warrant a scrollbar it would be great if it could be hidden!
Code below, note that "t_txt" is the instance name of my dynamic textfield:
