The subject title pretty much tells it all. I've got a flash project where a video component plays an external flv file. I've got a different flv file loaded at each keyframe. Right now the flv plays and then it stops and waits for you to click on the next video you want to watch. I want it to automatically go to the next keyframe and start the next video.

How would I go about detecting when that flv has finished playing and then hide it?

I have several FLV files that play via the FLV playback component dragged onto the stage. The user presses a button and the appropriate FLV plays.
After it plays I what to move to another frame so the FLV is no longer on the stage and makes way for the next one the user selects.

I have about 30 very simple external swfs--each contain an image with tweened fades and rollover-to-pause/rollout-to-resume actions. They're loaded onto the main timeline one after another as a slideshow. It's an auto-play and loop: each image swf loads the next one on to the empty movie clip after it is done playing. (i.e., swf1's last frame loads swf2, and so on.)
This set up was fine until I realized that I should have a place-marker--something that indicates where you are in the slideshow. No other functions (go to next/previous) for the marker. I just need to show graphically that you're seeing the 5th of 30 images. The graphic is 30 dark dots that get filled in as you progress.
To do this, I figured it would be easiest if I designate 1 frame per image (=one swf) on the main timeline. So, frame 1 will load 1.swf and when 1.swf finishes, frame 2 will load 2.swf. This will make it easy for me to color in the appropriate dots according to where we are in the slideshow.
What I think I need to figure out is to "pause" at each of the frames on the main timeline until the loaded swf is done playing. They're all different in length--some are 50 frames and some are 90 frames long.
I almost had it figured out from massive googling, but I honestly don't understand it well enough to tweak what I've found to do what I want it to do.
Also, if there is a way that I can easily make the "place marker" work without changing the way it is currently set up (1 frame in main time line; 30 swfs that load one another), that would be even more awesome!

I'm trying to make the UP arrow key disabled until a sound has finished playing. Is this possible?This is because other keys also play sounds and I don't want the sounds overlapping each other. Thus I'd also be trying to disable those keys as well whilst a sound is playing.

I've created an movieclip button that onRelease: moves to the highest depth and expands to the entire page and onRelease again: contracts to a thumbnail and moves to a lower depth.'ve got the animation working. However, I'd like the movieclip to finish playing the contracting to a thumbnail animation to the end before moving to a lower depth. I have 1 flash file in which has an animation playing. Once you press the play button I made it clears the animation and loads a .swf (we'll call it 2.swf).[code]The 2.swf has a .flv inside of it which is loaded from our server (not embedded).I'd like once the .flv stops playing for a button I named replay_btn to show up and be able to load the .flv one more time.I tried load commands but am probably doing it wrong.

have a FLV (video) that we'd like to set up as a quickintro before the browser is automatically re-directed to the homepage. Trouble is, the AS written so far opens the new pageimmediately; there's no wait-for-a-trigger written into it, andfrankly, no trigger. The movieclip is a self-starting one-framer;when I select it, I cannot create actions ("Current selectioncannot have actions applied to it"). I can, however, select the keyframe and write actions. I have a windows media video which I have converted to flash video, that I would like to have users play through on my webpage - and then after the video is completed, it would open another webpage automatically in a new window.
After looking through the web I can't find a way to do this, but it seems like it would be something that could be done. I have converted my windows video to flash format, embedded it on my stage and am ready to add action script. I know how to make the video a
button so that users would click on the video and then it would open a page, but I was hoping there would be a way that it could do
this automatically.

I'm making a flash site but I'm having a little problem: I preload my site with this code:

This code works perfectly when I test it, but if it goes to frame 3, the MC's on that frame won't start playing... ? If I just remove the frames with the preload bar (so frame 3 becomes frame 1), all works perfectly...

I have tried a number of different suggestions like using eventListeners and cue points embedded into my external .flvs. But, I still cannot get my code written properly to allow for the entire external .flv to play out, before it goes on to my following gotoAndPlay script.

Basically I have a MC called 'plane3.' Inside that MC is another MC called 'plane2.' Inside 'plane2' is an animation on frame 5.(inside the MC 'plane3' the MC 'plane2' is on a classic tween going side-to-side from frame 1 to 99, once it gets to frame 99 the code gotoAndPlay(1); makes it go on loop back to the beginning)My question is how would I go about: when you click 'plane3' it lets the tween continue playing until frame 10, then on frame 10, it gotoAndPlay (100); in the same MC and ALSO plays frame 5 from inside 'plane2'

I'm trying to work on a flash project. Essentially, when I press a button it initiates a video symbol. Once that video symbol is loaded, there are 3 buttons to choose from. When I click one of the buttons, it should do a gotoAndPlay. Instead, what does happen is I click the first button:

I am trying to create a video that can be streamed on a website. The video started with a screen grab of the video on frame one. This has the action on stop();. When this screengrab is clicked, gotoAndStop(2); is fired and the timeline moves to frame 2 and the video starts to stream. All is well... Except from when the video finishes...
When the video finishes I have tried using the code
on (complete) {
gotoAndPlay(1);
}
To go back to the origonal screen grab on frame one but it doesnt seem to budge.

I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.

I've been using the "Reusable Preloader Using MovieClipLoader" from the tutorial section of this site.The only difference is that i don't use'm for preloading jpg. I load external swf files containing video. Everything works fine so far. The only problem is that the preloaded video already starts playing while preloading (at about 30%), but without showing the video.This is the code i have so far:

I built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. I have a video player and I want to read the duration counter so that after say 5 seconds the video fades in some movie clips pauses for a few seconds then fades the movieclips out. Heres what I have so far as a test I have used gotoand play . If I insert this the movie does not reach 5 seconds but goes to frame 8 straight away. If I try a < or == nothing happens ?

I have a vido page. Once I get to that page I can't navigate anywhere else unless I click the video thumbnail button and as long as the video is playing the buttons are active. I can I change this so the I don't have to click a video thumbnail button to navigate out of that page.

I am trying to put together a class for playing video using the Video object. So far, I have only been successful in getting the Video object to fully work when not using a class setup. In the documentation, I have read that to use the Video object you have to actually drag/create the video object onto the stage. So, in my next attempt, I created the video object onto the stage within a MovieClip but still trying to use a class/linkage setup with the Video inside inside of a MovieClip container. No luck there either. Here is the basic AS2 script that is linked to a MovieClip that contains the Video object ("video" instance) within it.

I have a MC called Robot. It is animated with keyframes so that my robot appears to walk. There is an Action on frame 8 that says, "gotoAndPlay(1)".When the user pushes the arrow keys, I want to MC to move in the direction of the press arrow. I also want the MC to start playing at keyframe 9 so it plays the walking animation.
This all works but with one small problem. If the arrow key is held down, the "gotoAndPlay(9)" stops the animation from playing, instead showing only the graphic that is on the 9nth keyframe.

Is there a way to call a function once and play the MC frames until the arrow key is not pressed? I think the problem I am having is that if the key is held down, the EventListener keeps running and starting the MC in the same frame instead of allowing the MC to play as I want it to.
