ActionScript 2.0 :: Playing The ENTIRE External .flv Before GotoAndPlay?

I have tried a number of different suggestions like using eventListeners and cue points embedded into my external .flvs. But, I still cannot get my code written properly to allow for the entire external .flv to play out, before it goes on to my following gotoAndPlay script.

I'm making a flash site but I'm having a little problem: I preload my site with this code:

this.loadBar._width = getPercent * 200;
this.loadText = Math.round(getPercent * 100) + "%";

this.gotoAndPlay(3);

This code works perfectly when I test it, but if it goes to frame 3, the MC's on that frame won't start playing... ? If I just remove the frames with the preload bar (so frame 3 becomes frame 1), all works perfectly...

Basically I have a MC called 'plane3.' Inside that MC is another MC called 'plane2.' Inside 'plane2' is an animation on frame 5.(inside the MC 'plane3' the MC 'plane2' is on a classic tween going side-to-side from frame 1 to 99, once it gets to frame 99 the code gotoAndPlay(1); makes it go on loop back to the beginning)My question is how would I go about: when you click 'plane3' it lets the tween continue playing until frame 10, then on frame 10, it gotoAndPlay (100); in the same MC and ALSO plays frame 5 from inside 'plane2'

I've got a Flash site up that is almost finished, but it just needs preloaders. [URL]. I plan on using this type of preloader in the gallery section and before the root movie is launched. I'm looking for a preloader that preloads the _root movie, and all of the content it loads on it's level, which will be external SWF files. I plan on using the loader in two ways for the site:

- For the preloader that I will insert before the entire movie, I plan on loading the tattoos/merchandise/contact/news external SWFs which will makeup the content of the _root movie.
- For the preloader used in the tattoos/gallery I plan on using it to display a loading bar on top of the button thumbnail clicked, then displaying the pop-up enlarged image (which is an external SWF file) of the thumbnail on top of the entire movie once the loading is finished.

I've tried some of the preloader examples given in the tutorial section without much luck.

I have two files, the regular .fla file and an external .as file.Basicly at one point in the .as file I get information of what tag to send the timeline and play and have to use the function gotoAndPlay from the timeline in the .fla file.This is the .as file:

Im going to make a page in flash as3, and now I have build the most of it. I will now load an external swf into the main swf, to save people for too must waiting time... my issue with normal words: I want to have a number of buttons. When you click on button 1 the first external swf load with a fade animation. Now when I would see whats behind button 2, is should animate the first swf out and remove it from the stage, to save wating time.... and the same should happend if i have 5 menu buttons...

I load the external movie into main movie and i want to put a gotoandplay() in mc of the external movie, to the external, like this:

I have two files
main.swf & nav.swf.
In main.swf I have two frames on Layer1 "s1" & "s2"
On Layer2 I used the following scripts to load nav.swf

PHP Code:

Which works perfectly fine.

But on nav.swf ( external file ) I have two buttons on the stage. On the 1st button I have used the following script to go to "s1" frame which is on the main.swf
PHP Code:
on (release) { _root.gotoAndPlay("s1");}

I have used the following script to go to "s2" frame which is on the main.swf
PHP Code:
on (release) { _root.gotoAndPlay("s2");}
Which seems to be not working fine. I have also attached those two fla files.

I have a MC called Robot. It is animated with keyframes so that my robot appears to walk. There is an Action on frame 8 that says, "gotoAndPlay(1)".When the user pushes the arrow keys, I want to MC to move in the direction of the press arrow. I also want the MC to start playing at keyframe 9 so it plays the walking animation.

This all works but with one small problem. If the arrow key is held down, the "gotoAndPlay(9)" stops the animation from playing, instead showing only the graphic that is on the 9nth keyframe.

Is there a way to call a function once and play the MC frames until the arrow key is not pressed? I think the problem I am having is that if the key is held down, the EventListener keeps running and starting the MC in the same frame instead of allowing the MC to play as I want it to.

The subject title pretty much tells it all. I've got a flash project where a video component plays an external flv file. I've got a different flv file loaded at each keyframe. Right now the flv plays and then it stops and waits for you to click on the next video you want to watch. I want it to automatically go to the next keyframe and start the next video.

Can you have a/s in the external swf that runs a 'gotoAndplay' in the main movie? I want the swf to be halfway through when the picture on my main swf changes.~ Seretha(I can't load the picture in with the external swf because they have to be unloaded at different times and the picture HAS to load on a level under the external swf.)

I have a main swf that loads 2 external swfs. I click on button to see content of external swf #1 and see stuff. I do something that causes external swf to show other stuff (i.e. not at beginning state)

In the main swf I click on button to see content of external swf #2. External swf #1 content is made invisible and I see content of external swf stuff. NOW, if I click on button to take me back to see external swf #1, I see it's content in current state. I want to force it to start over again at frame #1 which will reset content.

However, no matter what I try, I can't seem to control which frame to go to in external swf using gotoAndplay.

Ive got a project with a fairly complex arrangement of menus and a narrated tutorial of sorts that is large (in terms of Mb) compared to the menus themselves. Since the tutorial is likely to be played only once, if at all, I don't want to load the asset unless needed. To do this I'm using the following code to load an external swf (the tutorial) and attach it to an mc container (mc_launch). A loader bar will be added later but for now it works, except: if the user navigates away from the tutorial (jumps to another frame in the menu timeline) the audio of the child attached to the mc_launch continues to play even though the instance of the mc_launch is no longer on stage. Shouldn't all the child objects of the container go away once the instance of the container is gone? If not, do I specifically have to execute a mc_launch.removeChild(loader) before navigating away from the instance of mc_launch?[code]...

I am fairly new to Flash and working with MX 2004 with Flash 2. I have tried several methods to play an external .FLV file. Some ideas from this forum and some from the Flash help system. Either I don't understand them and/or I am not implementing them correctly but nothing has worked. I have read of an FLVPlayback component and my system has a MediaPlayback component in the Component window. I have also seen yards of actionscript to play such files. Can anyone supply me with a basic/simple method, with code/example or buttons-to-push if necessary, to have an .SWF play an external .FLV via my MX 2004 system?

I've been trying to figure this one out for a couple of days now, and it's driving me nuts! I'm new to flash (I'm using CS3 with AS2), but I've managed to convert a template into an almost finished site. My problem is this: I've made an external slideshow swf which works fine if used by itself. It's saved as a flash 7 AS2 according to the program (Aleo Slideshow Gallery Maker) used to generate it. It's in the same directory as the main swf file. I'm not sure of the code to load and play the external slideshow swf with a button in the main swf file. Do I need to change the html as well as the swf script? I've tried all sorts of things, but I can't figure the script out on how to finish the flash to include the slideshow. The SWF files inquestion are attached - I'm just using sample iamages at the moment. When I go to the gallery page, I want to be able to click on the fly to load and play the slideshow.

I am trying to play the .mp3 file called "Music_File_2.mp3" the music file is in a folder called "Sounds" 2buttons called Play_btn and Stop_btn plays and stops the music. Once the music playing if i click on the play button the music will pause.
 
Everything works fine when i launch the program though "Flash Player 10". but when i right click and open the .swf file with Internet explorer the whol project works fine, but the sounds would not play.

I am having a problem stopping external swf from playing. I am currently using FlashCS4 and publishing to Flash Player 10. I would really like to use the code
"loader.unloadAndStop();"
to stop the swf. I tried using it but I keep getting the following error:
1061: Call to a possibly undefined method unloadAndstop through a reference with static type flash.display:Loader.loader.unloadAndstop();

I read somewhere that since the swf files were published in Captivate (also using Flash player 10) I have to load the swf into a flash movieclip first then try the loader.unloadAndStop code.

this simple external test swf has 10 frames. @ frame 1 theres a "intro" label, @ frame 5 theres a "stop" action, and on frame 6, theres an "outro" label. problem is that, when i click the button, it reloads the external swf and plays from frame 1.

I have a big problem that the audio of the external swf keeps on playing on top of other swf after clicking another button.

I have about 22 external swf files that are called up after clicking on their respective button. However, the audio keeps playing on top of the new swf that is selected. It thought the "removeChild(loader);" would work but it doesn't remove the audio.

I don't know if this may be an issue, but along with every swf that plays there are 3-4 .flv videos that are included in the swf. I have included the code.
