I've added a ProgressEvent listener to an instance of FileReference. At different times in the code I call both upload() and load(). How can I isolate the progression event of only the upload method?
View 1 Repliesi have a Air Project in which i have added three extenal source folders. but when i reopen project or strat flash builder again i get icon on those folder like this but when i open the configuration for that project and try to validate the path and adding it again i get message like this but the path is valid. proof is this pic what could be possible error,,, is there any way that i when ever re-open project i get no warning and able to navigate through the linked source code. now i am doing it
1- deleting on of the linked folder
2- again adding that folder.

I am trying to send the download progress updates back to the main Document Class and display it on screen, so I am trying to dispatch the event "PROGRESS_INFO" and then get the information from the passed Event Object, like so: Document Class

This however, is proving futile... any ideas on how I can get the progress info out of the IMageLoader class? note: I know I can add bytesLoaded & bytesTotal to a public variable, but then I won't get the benefit of seeing the bytesLoaded property update in the ProgressEvent class.

View 6 RepliesI am creating a interactive ad and am having problems getting the onMouseDowns to work properly.I have 4 thumbnail images that, when clicked on, need to enlarge and show a caption. My problem is that when the user clicks, it triggers an onMouseDown for all of the image thumbnail movieclips. What should happen is that only the thumbnail that was clicked on should enlarge.How can I isolate the click so that it just triggers the thumbnail movieclip that was actually clicked on? View 3 RepliesI'm trying to isolate words entered by the user into an "Input Text" (command). In a function that executes every time a key is pressed, I set a string, "newTxt", to the text entered.[code]This works fine; I'm able to check the string "newTxt". However, this checks the entire command rather than one word. When I replace line 2 with:[code]it freezes. In theory, it should add every letter until it reaches a space or ends, right? Could anyone find my mistake? Also, how would I go about checking for the second word (after a space)?
View 2 RepliesI am working on a UI that makes heavy use of the Tweener class, and which also loads an external .swf that I believe also uses the Tweener class.
After tracking down all kinds of buggy behavior, I'm thinking that the problem is that the loaded .swf is making calls to Tweener.removeAllTweens() *(This is just an assumption) and stopping other tweens that are happening in my UI.
Is this possible, and if so, is it possible to isolate the two versions of the Tweener class so that they don't reference the same object?

In Flash Builder (flex 4) I try to use next code to set selected by user (from file system) Image as a repeated background. It worked with mx:Image but I want to use cool repited capabiletis of s:BitmapFill.BTW: Technic I use also does not work with S:BitmapImage. Also FP does not return any errors. What Shall I do with my code to make it work?

I would like to compile my view classes into an SWC from flash, and compile the rest of the application using mxmlc (avoiding recompiling through the IDE). However, because the view classes (source) are in the project class path, mxmlc gives them precedence over the compiled SWC.
Now I'm thinking that maybe the view classes have to be separated into a separate project, but I am hesitant to do so because I don't think these classes truly constitute an independent project, and separating them out would not serve any purpose beyond working around the linking precedence problem. Furthermore, if i were to change my mind about the linkage, i would have to restructure both projects, and any common dependancies between the two projects could be messy to maintain.
How can I get mxmlc to give precedence to the SWC over the Actionscript? Or, if this is not possible, is it more common to create a separate project for the Flash-compiled library, or to isolate the Flash source in the project so that it is not included in the project class path?
There is such a wonderful source http[url]....but it does not get integrated into Flex. Are there other examples of an animated tag cloud?

Because nothing is updated when the source Array (or XMLList) is being modified and the documentation confirms it too: The underlying XMLList for this collection. The XMLListCollection object does not represent any changes that you make directly to the source XMLList object. Always use the XMLListCollection methods to modify the collection.
This property can be used as the source for data binding. When this property is modified, it dispatches the listChanged event.
I'm asking because Flex examples related to dataProviders always use some Array or XMLList as source of data for a data-driven component. And I wonder, if using Array or XMLList is necessary at all - when for example loading data from external PHP-script.
After scratching my head for months about a ProgressEvent issue I decided to post my problem.I've been searching the web for a long time about my problem and all I could find was people with similar problems..But none of them had a solution.I've created a SWF file to upload files to the web server.The even triggers the progressEvent.PROGRESS to let a javascript function know when the progress has changed.When it's done uploading it triggers Event.COMPLETE.When I test my code at first it doesn't seem to work.The progress is event 2 or 3 times and then claims it's finished (While the Event.COMPLETE isn't fired yet).When the file is actually uploaded flash triggers Event.COMPLETE accordingly.o Event.COMPLETE is correct.. but ProgressEvent.PROGRESS is not.At least, thats what I thought, when I tested it on another pc (With windows XP 64bit) it worked (Magically?) tried it on a Mac and it, again, worked...why it behaves like this?

The error we now receive is

While debugging into the code in order to get a deeper understanding for Flex, I tried to figure out, what this misterious "itemUpdated" method does, especially as it notes in the adobe documentation, that, if no "property" is given (e.g. it is null), a simple "refresh()" will occur.
I did not find any calls to "refresh()" in the whole debugging (and I went down the framework whole as deep as possible (btw: lots of funny comments right in the code :-) )he only thing I could find was a CollectionChangeEvent getting dispatched with a PropertyChangeEvent in its "item" property. Which was of the kind "UPDATE" (and not, as I would expect "ADD"). When trying to dispatch that event manually, it never worked (e.g. the datagrid did not update).
Are there any open source (read free) alternatives to Flex Builder? I do not qualify for their student waiver (sad)

But until I don't get the response from the web service call, I want to show a loader swf in image control above.
