I have an Accordian in my application. Each child of the accordian has a label firstNameLabel) and a button (addPolicyButton). The label's value is being set via Repeater and an array. How can I access the firstNameLabel's value of 'selected child of the accordian' when the addPolicyButton is clicked?In following code testTextArea.appendText prints 'fname: undefined' in the testTextArea.Where as I can see in the accordian that the set label's text is set to 'Michael' which is what repMonitor.currentItem.firstName returned.

I have 2 advanced data grids, one above the other. They both have the exact number of columns, and pertain to each other in the same way. But each is showing different data, which is why I split into 2 grids. However, on each one you can resize the columns, what I would like is to make it so that if you resize a column on either datagrid the same column on the opposite datagrid resizes as well, so they are both always lined up.
View 1 RepliesWhen I have a Label on a Sprite for example, it doesn't respond to MouseEvents, or at least not correctly. For example, if I set buttonMode = true on the Sprite, the label won't have the clicking cursor. Is there a work around for this? Other than stacking another Sprite on top of it which seems very inefficient.
View 3 RepliesIf I want to align things vertically in a container, I'll use verticalAlign="middle", but this doesn't exactly solve the problem of truly aligning text vertically. Text is always too high vertically, so in the past, I've just adjusted paddingTop and paddingBottom to compensate, but that doesn't work as the font for _sans differs from operating system to operating system.
Given the following layout code, you'll see the problem:

What happens is pretty clear. The horizontal line gets aligned to the exact middle of the box, but the text is offset by some arbitrary amount. I assume that this is because of the text baseline alignment or something. Is there a way to fix this regardless of the font size and face? I'd like to have the line essentially go right through the middle of the text, ignoring the extra space possibly needed for below the logical line of text (ie: ignore the bottom part of "g's" and "j's" when laying things out).
I am trying to create a project where I have a homemade button with a label component inside converted to a MovieClip. I have added an event listener, which triggers successfully when I move into the MovieClip, but retriggers when I move into the label within the MovieClip. Is there anyway to tell it to stop retriggering and act as a single MovieClip, or would it be simpler to break down and just try to customize the Button component?

Notice how it thinks I mouseOut of btBox when the mouse went over the label, and went back to the btBox after I left the Label.
I have a flash page where I am loading another .swf into. With a button in the loaded swf I need to unload the loaded swf (where the button is) and navigate to a specific frame label in the parent .swf. I've tried to do the following in the key frame where the swf get loaded into I've put the following:

I basically want to first load the swf called "gallery_wonderland.swf". Then in the "gallery_wonderland.swf" there's a button called "contact03_btn" which I want to unload "gallery_wonderland.swf" even though it's inside the swf and navigate to the frame label called "Contact" in the parent swf.
What can I do I've done similar before and it works, but when I do it know and I click the contact03_btn it comes with following error message:

I'm using an embed font for the header text, and when applying the css, the header text behaves as if I'd set the text vertical align to top. I'm trying to vertically center the text, but haven't found a way to make it work.

I have a web app built in Flash Builder 4.5. Its dimensions are 1150 x 900. When I try to view it on a smaller monitor or lower resolution, I can only scroll horizontally. I need it to scroll vertically. Is there a setting I am missing or could it be something else. I am not going to post any code at this time because I do not believe it is a syntax issue. I've created a skin that allows me to have two labels on a spark button, but the button text won't center vertically. It stays at the top of the button no matter what settings I give it. The icon in the skin DOES however, center vertically. This is the skin:

I have a group for which I want to enable horizontal scrolling. Vertically the group should be as wide as possible (100%).

Now if I start the application the MyComp-component is about 200px wide and starts to expand its width to infinity. This is like some transition or animation and I don't know how to stop it. Setting something like maxWidth would solve the issue, but I don't want to set explicit values.
This task doesn't seem too tough, but it has been blocking me for the last couple hours. I am doing a stacked bar chart, and I want the labels to be horizontally and vertically centered within each Bar Segment. The labels are set to be "inside". Such, you can easily center the label horizontally by setting label-align:middle, but there doesn't seem to be anything that can handle the vertical aspect.
Next approach was to create a custom component of the Bar Chart, but that go extremely messy when I was messing with the rendering functions. I thought it would be just modifying this line: v.labelY=v.y + barSeries.seriesRenderData.renderedYOffset - barSeries.seriesRenderData.renderedHalfWidth; but it hasn't worked. Attached is what the bar chart looks like now. And just to clarify, I would like these labels(manual in the picture) to be vertically centered.

In the Spark DataGrid the default row height is about 22 px. I would like to set the default row height to 18 pixels and I can do this easily enough with the rowHeight property but what happens is when the rowHeight is set to anything less than 22 px the bottom area of the text in each row is cut off. It seems that the default grid itemrenderer or grid label has a min height set to it. Since I have multiple columns and want to have shorter rows but not have the bottom of the text cut off in each row how would I do this?

I Have tried many ways to flip the display object horizontally and vertically. he function I am using is given below. It works fine when the display object is not rotated.When it is rotated and then flipped it outputs a skewed inverted display Object.

I have an Movie Clip in Flash that have subobject of button type which has subobject of input text and movie clips. Right after creation core Moveclip all subobject are set to null, when I expect them to be valid objects.

MC_Core_design was created in Flash and exported to Actionscript. I've done this for button_1 class aswell. The code was written using Flex. When I comment out both lines that result in error I get correct view of the core Movie clip with all subobject. How can I set subobject properties right after object creation?
