I need to change the render mode (wmode) to direct in Flash CS5.5, but I only get Auto, CPU or GPU mode. How can I edit the Name-app.xml to build the .ipa file with MY XML?
View 1 RepliesWe have an AIR application running on an Apple iPad, that occasionally experiences sudden drop in its performance. The frame rate drops from 60fps to 2fps and it never recovers from that. this is only reproducible on iOS 4, but never on iOS 5 - we've checked that on two identical iPads (generation 1)the performance drops occasionally, but always happens when we switch between apps - from our app to another and back very rarely, the performance drop also happens on first start of the app this performance issue does not happen in renderMode=CPU, but this mode doesn't work for us, because the rendering is ugly, especially on rotated bitmaps.

I'm building a Flash video player that uses the new StageVideo API. StageVideo requires window mode (wmode) to be set to "direct". Unfortunately, setting wmode to direct prevents the express install dialog from popping up if a user has a version of Flash Player older than 10.2.How can I set my wmode to direct to get StageVideo to work but also ensure the Express Installer pops up for users with older Flash Players?

I'm starting a blog with a hosted wordpress instance and i would like to be able to stream music using a flash player on some posts.The problem is that every player i find uses a simple param to get the file url which makes it very easy for someone to find that url and just download the file.I know that it's probably impossible to prevent this all together, but i at least don't want it to be obvious.

1) There are two flash files, a menu and a header, in the menu when the page paods the buttons are white and turn orange when you scroll over them. Id simply like them orange when the page loads and then to turn white when you scroll over them. I can figure out how to get the scroll over to white but not the first part to getting the load orange.
2) In the header file there are several pics. Beside the pics there are scroll over buttons. Id like the first button, that says domestic contract, open when the page loads.
I didn't find that my flash is larger than the browsering area on screen until I publish and preview it in my browser but I do want all the content to be displayed on the screen. All I need to do is to move everything up for about 150 px.(in other words, to shorten the stage by 150 from the top but I can only cut the stage from the bottom ) Is there a way I can change the position of the stage like what I can do to the artboard in AI?
View 4 RepliesI have a completed Flash, but I need to change the stage height. Is there anyway to do this with out have to touch every cell. I have a ball that moves across the the stage, and I don't want to redo the whole thing. I've tried selecting all and moving the items, but it doesn't work.
View 6 RepliesIs there any way, using Flash CS4, to change the vanishing point (ie projectionCenter) of a MovieClip? Or can Flash CS4 only adjust the stage's vanishing point? It seems that when I change it from inside a MovieClip it changes it on a global level, which is not what I want.
I've found I can use AS3 with PerspectiveProjection to change it at runtime, but I can't see the affect in Flash CS4 which makes doing the actual animation incredibly cumbersome.

View 3 RepliesI've been working in CS5, with an older FLA I originally built in CS3. On the timeline, I have different MCs and button symbols which need to stay in the same coordinate position. Usually if I notice some sort of 'wiggle', I will go and check the position coords by hand, updating the x/y position by typing numbers directly in the Properties panel.
However today, I repeatedly saw the coordinates change -by themselves- after I typed and hit Enter. For example, typing '165' in the Y field changed immediately to '164.95'. With one symbol, this behavior continued, no matter what I typed, with the number changing by 10 pixels sometimes, every time I just selected the symbol. Not only was I not able to keep the symbols at the same coords (I tried making them all 164.95), the 'automatic decimal' numbers would actually change further, as I was trying to correct them. I was only able to resolve this by creating an entirely new MC symbol in the Library, and placing it on a new timeline layer.
I've noticed this sort of behavior before in CS3 and CS4 (the CS4 Alpha slider never wanting to go to 0 or 100%), but never to this extent, or as consistently. It's gone from an annoyance to a genuine problem in my workflow.
I'm going crazy trying to figure out how to change the text on this banner. The person setting up my website isn't available anymore. I have this slide show with a transparent banner at the top and photos that I can manipulate. I can also change the order by modifiying the file Images.xml:

I'm creating a programme on flash where some of the scenes have FLV players playing various videos. They all work fine, stopping and playing etc. However when I leave the scene by clicking my "home" button, the video stops, but the outline of the player stays up in the new scene!

I am a rank Flash newbie, so maybe I'm missing something obvious. In InDesign or Illustrator, if I want to change every red object to blue, I can go into the color list, edit the red color to the blue values, and every instance of red in the document reflects the edit. I don't have to select each red element and pick the new blue for stroke and/or fill.
