Javascript :: Flash Movie Advance The Slides In The Slidedeck?
Dec 11, 2009
Take a video on infoq.com (like this one: [URL]... If you play the movie linked above, you'll see the slide deck advance as the appropriate part in the movie is hit. If you advance it forward and back with the slider, you'll see that it triggers to the appropriate location in the slide deck.
Is it possible to create a PPT-like presentation in which I can advance the 'slides' from my computer, and the slides that my viewers are seeing will likewise advance without their interaction?
I have 2 movie clips, one names mc_frame01 and another mc_frame02. I've tried to set variables and arguments to make it easier when theres more mc_frameXX's. All I want the animation to do is first MC slides in from the right, pauses, then slides off to the left. Then repeat for each MC. With the code below, both MC's seem to slide in from the right at the same time and that's it.
I am working on a project and need to advance a movie clip with a reverse and advance button. I prefer to have the clip keep moving in a direction while a button is held down.
I have a Flash banner that needs to execute a Javascript function outside the movie. This is required to occur on a click of a Flash Button. How would the best way to get this done be? What reading could I start with?
Underlined Text On (rollOver) Is there an action script to do on (rollover) underline text? It would be on a button that would also, on (release) gotoAndPlay a frame. I know you can have a movie with AS like this:
[Code]....
But when I add the on (release) to the movie it doesnt advance the timeline on (release). And when I change the file to a button instead of a movie clip it doesnt do the underline on (rollOver).
I have a project coming up where I'll be rendering text paths on a circle; the text has to be dynamic, so I can't just bring in a precomputed set from illustrator. Now, laying text on a circle ought not be too hard, I'll do it per character with per character rotation. The trouble is, I can't seem to figure out how to get per-character advance from flash's font engine. It's 99% probable that I'm just overlooking something obvious. But as far as I can tell, the only way to get flash font metrics is via flash.text.engine.FontMetrics which ostensibly is per-font, not per-character.
A fallback that I'm not looking forward to implementing is pre-computing per-char advance on my own ( since this project will be using embedded fonts known in advance ). I've got ObjC code lying around for generating glyph maps for opengl, so I could generate that data offline and make it available to my flash code ( probably as static constants or some malarkey ).
I did the tutorial for "create a full flash site" under flash mx advance. I did everything right and it worked. Ok here is what i want to somebody to help me out.
The action: on (release) { _root.contents.loadMovie("locations.swf"); }
because when i extracted the zip file it had only the different swf. files and the main file where they were going to be loaded. What i am saying is do all the swf. files have to have some connection to the main movie where i am loading the swf. files in order for it to work or it doesn't matter. so what am trying to say is i could have any swf. file and use that action to my main movie even if has nothing in come and it will play it.
I am using Macromedia Flash 8. My task is simple enough: I need create a Presentation with Screens from PDF files: I have 10-12 PDF files which I want convert into flash presentation. I have read this tutorial:
[URL]
Chapter 11: Basic Tasks: Create a Presentation with Screens.
I'm having trouble how to add PDF files into a slides: I want insert a whole pdf file as separate slide, without splitting pdf file into separate elements: pictures, text, etc. I tried import pdf file into Flash, wheen import there is shown prompt how program should process this pdf file(add in stage, library, as keyframes, etc) , not clear which option is correct for my task. What I got is pdf file splitted into multiple images, text, - which is not what I want. I want keep PDF files without changes, preserve original design and formatting, just convert this pdf into flash, so presentation will consist of PDFs organized in correct order, then add navigation buttons and some effects. How to solve this task?
After using Flash for many years for animation I've finally discovered the Flash Presentation document setup, but I'm stumbling at the first hurdle in getting my head around the document structure and how the playhead moves between slides/screens.
I have a small 48 frame animated "text bullet" which fades in and then glows for a second. I have placed this on one layer in slide 2, and have tweened it so that it flies in from the left of the screen, stopping in the middle. This is great but have noticed that when advancing to the next slide, slide 3, and then hitting the left arrow to go back to slide 2, the animated instance of the text bullet is at the same position/state as when I navigated away from slide 2 to slide 3.
So how come the playhead doesn't automatically jump to the start (frame 1) of slide 2 when I navigate back? I have explored the Behaviours but haven't managed to sort out this very basic first step
Im building a flash presentation in AS2.As the FLA video plays I have timed cue point that will make a slide appear to the side of the video.The video will contain around 30 cue points but I dont know how to do the action script.I currently have the below that works for one event. How do I do multiple events.
myFlvPlayback1.addEventListener ( "cuePoint", this );function cuePoint ( eventObj:Object ){gotoAndPlay("1"); }
I have downloaded a flash video from a website which was the combination of lots of flash slide and MP3. Now I want to join all those so that it look same as was displayed in website . [URL]. This is the link to the website and I got 15 flash slide from this on presentation and 10 mp3 files when I downloaded that .
Is there a way to detect end of Flash movie (OOTB, without using some sort of flash callback). Alternatively, is there a way to know the length of the movie? Update: IsPlaying() looked promising (periodically checking it), but as it turns out, nobody is creating straight forward swfs any more; now, the content is embedded in main layer and while the content plays, the main movie is stopped and IsPlaying is always false...
I am setting up a Flash based MP3 player control (The standalone version of WordPress Standalone Player). I have a situation of multiple windows with players open. One window opens the other, so I have the window.opener property available. When the child window is opened, I want to programmatically mute the audio player in the parent window.
This works in Firefox, but not in IE 7 and 8. I know little about Flash/Javascript interaction and I'm stuck. I am not getting any error messages. To do this, the player SWF object has a setVolume() and close() function. These functions are not defined anywhere in Javascript so I guess that those are provided by the Flash object. This is supported by the following lines I found in the Flash source code of the player:
I have a JavaScript function that loads a flash movie into a webpage div using swfobject.embedSWF(). I want to be able to, alternatively, load a .mov file into the same div, in the event that this is the file found instead of the .swf. Is there a close equivalent to swfobject.embedSWF for the purposes of embedding a .mov file? If not, what is an efficient route to doing this using JavaScript?
We have a site that comprises mainly of an embeded flash object containing navigation controls. All I want is to insert a small .swf movie that will play like an intro scene to the website before the main .swf loads for the site itself. All this means is I want to call up 1 flash object, play it through and then replace it with another once finished. This seems to be a relatively simple desire but after a couple of hours worth of forum-trawling.
I have found a way to send a play(); command to my Flash movie in IE9 but I can't figure it out in Firefox9. Here is the code I am using that works in IE:
I am trying to make an animated flash banner in which a graphic slides across a 774 by 100 px stage which stops after playing once and repeats on mouse over.
I have managed to make the animation repeat on mouse over, but when it does, the graphic only slides to the point on the stage that the mouse moved over.
I have also tried this with a mouse out which works fine but is not quite what I was trying to achieve.
I'm new to working with flash and have a quick question about embedding flash with the SWFObject.js file.I can successfully embed an object and play it, but what I'd like to know now is if there is a way that I can be notified when the movie is done being played without editing the flash file itself, since I have no real way to do that.
I'm wondering what my best option is to delay the loading/playing of a movie that is set to autoplay?The videos are all external if that matters; is there any kind of code I can fire within a javascript function once I want it to start?
I need my flash to appear in front of the background on this website [URL] it loads but its entirely transparent. I need the content to be visible and the background of the flash to be invisible. Here is the flash itself: [URL]. How do I leave the content visible but use the website's background? I'm using swfobject
I have a swf streaming an flv with the default controls from Flash. Is there a way to call a javascript function when the pause button is clicked? And then another when the play button is clicked?
Basically I'm trying to call a javascript function which fades in the page content at the end of the flash movie. My javascript is all fine, I've even tested it by placing a button on the page from which it works flawlessly. So I know its definitely my Actionscript which is wrong.
So I'm trying to call a javascript function from the actionscript when the swf movie enters a certain frame. I've placed the following code on a frame in my movie, but nothing, nada, niet.
I've searched all over the net and have come across a few examples but being new to Actionscript, I'm finding it quite hard to get my head around this (albeit simple) problem. I am trying to figure out how to create a flash slideshow including buttons that interact with the slides. A perfect example of what I am trying to create is the flash slideshow on the Frito Lay's website[url]....I am sure there is some action code for the button that can do this, but being to to Flash code.
I'm not quite sure how to do this - I'm building an admin interface to sort the order of a series of flash slides into a dynamic presentation. The admin interface pulls the slides from xml and displays each as a thumbnail. The thumbnails, when dragged, reorder themselves in the array appropriately. The problem is, I want the actual array of slides to reorganize itself accordingly. My code is this:
function onThumbPress( e:MouseEvent ):void { e.target.startDrag(); } function onThumbRelease( e:MouseEvent ):void { e.currentTarget.stopDrag(); sortSlides(); [Code] .....
So what I want to do is take the change in the array (say 0 moves in front of 1 in project_thumbs_array) - and make sure that my other array (project_clips_array) moves item 0 in front of 1 as well. I thought something like this might work but it doesn't: project_clips_array.sortOn ('project_thumbs_array.x',Array.NUMERIC);
My website is going to have a main wrapper that is set to a max-width property for compatible browsers. It will stretch to 940px across at max. When scaled down I would like the swf to scale proportionately with it. Like an image with width percent applied. The flash movie has the dimensions of 940 × 360 pixels.
I can't seem to figure out the correct attributes to add to the embed tag to get it to do this.I am currently using jquery flash embed, but am open to other options, though this is my ideal.In the example I have set the flash background to black.
When resize the browser window the flash movie doesn't scale proportionately to the div, only the photo does, leaving a blank canvas (black), while the div height stays the same. I can't add a height value in the CSS.How do I make this scale correctly? Adding a noscale param only crops the image. The swf's height doesn't scale also.
