I'm trying to use this effect for a flash image banner that I have, but something is missing from these instructions because when I test the movie, all I get are large white lines covering my images rather than the transparency of the mask over the image http:[url].....

I have a site I have created for a client which features a flash header image, the only problem is he accessed a draft of the site on his iPhone and was put off by the fact it didn't display any of the head image as it was an iPhone (which as we know are not flash happy!). Also, I would need this anyway incase the visitor has flash turned off or uninstalled (I have provided the usual 'install flash' link when flash isn't displayed).Is there a way I can do this with just HTML/CSS or will I have to use JS or something similar?I have tried adding tags but this does nothing.

Right so I was just wondering how I would go about creating a 'spotlight' effect on an image in flash. I want to use a background image which is only visible within the 'spotlight' (e.g. everything outwith the spotlight is just black). The spotlight must be able to be controlled by the user (I know how to do that bit at least)

I am trying to explode and IMAGE not TEXT. Particle tutorials seem to explode into hundreds of parts. I am looking for 12 to 16 exploded pieces. Again this is for an image not text so the simple Break apart doesn't seem to be working. I am Using Flash CS5.

I have searched high and low but have been unable to find a suitable solution which would work on Flash Player 7 with Actionscript 2.0. I had started to lose hope but decided to ask on this forum as a last attempt.
I have previously just flipped the movie clips then set alphas on them. However, it does not look very nice. I would prefer a gradiented mirror image.
BitmapData and Matrix classes are however not supported by Flash Player 7.

I am trying to make a image slideshow for my companies new website. I used the Flash Image Viewer plugin from Dreamweaver, but it doesn't contain the transitional effect desired.
Every tutorial I find talks about advancing the images through an interactive control, I just want the images to change by themselves and do a fade transitional effect between images. Can anyone please point me to a tutorial that has this w/o the intractive buttons? I have been looking on the internet for hours and can only find tutorials / example w/ the intractve controls.

Basically I am looking for direction on this -- I would like to have a small flash movie that displays a collection of pictures with some sort of transition. Ideally, I would like to pull the image paths from a database and rotate through them at some time interval. This seems like something that shouldn't be too difficult - and I am sure it has been done thousands of times - I am surprised I cannot find more information through google searches. Maybe I am not keying on the correct terms!??!? Anyways, If anyone could provide some direction - I am hoping that I can pick it up with a little push. I want to incorporate a scrolling image banner into my website, and found a great tutorial on youtube which works well.I can't post a link unfortunately.It is a pretty basic image scroller that has a series of images scrolling across the screen in an infinite loop. Direction is controlled by mouse position (extreme left or right), and it will stop when the mouse is positioned over an image in the center area.Here's the code:

The flips are contained within a clear but drop-shadowed rectangular container. The images have a very flexible quality to them, bending kind of like a sheet in the wind. The flipping isnt prompted by anything, it just plays in a loop and the images are randomized.I decompiled the flash but was not able to find anything of use; the flipping images just appear as blue boxes in my window. I suspect these flipping images are really individual flash pieces embedded into the main flash doc?

The problem i have is that I only want the image to start panning left and right at the point the mouse reaches the edge of the table. At the moment you get movement no matter where you are on the screen.
