ActionScript 1/2 :: Moving Components According To Screen / Stage Size
Jan 13, 2011
how i would make a flash website that moves components according to screen size? for example the text on the introduction page of this site has the effect i am looking or: [URL]
I'm widening the stage of a existing FLA, is it possible to widen the stage and to reposition all the layers of the FLA so they move in relation to the widing of the stage. Or do I have to reposition all of the layers individually?
I want to know which is the best stage size for a 1024 x 768 screen resolution.i see site for example in thefwa.com that are full screen in any resolution, but the need to set a stage size for their app.
I want to create a flash flip-book.How do i set the flash size to be according to screen resolution?Because i want to strech an image to fill the entire sreen.
I make flash util with as3. Utility like paint program and export png file your draw shape. Our users put anything on own screen and shape frame this thing with mouse. Then send me exported png. I want equal users drawn shape and png shape sizes. But users screen resolution different. I want all screen resolution my flash stage same size on screen. How can do this?
Made a swf [URL] some viewers see and hear fine but others are having sound and size issues and I need some practical answers. SIZE: I make the Flash stage the size of the original screen capture video of 1024 x 768 and right now it is set to
I'm trying to get an object to increase in size the lower it goes down the stage, and decrease in size the high it moves up the stage.
It only needs to increase or decrease by a small amount. Basically, it's for a game character. To ad realism to his movements, it would be nice to have this feature.
So ive been asked to build a page for a real state company and the guy told me it should be similar to these [URL] Ive been trying a couple of weeks so far, but i dont seem to find a way to do somthing similar, i mean, i want to have the welcome screen as those two:
- the gradient background - flash occupies whole screen no matter what size it is - gradient expands sideways infinately - no matter what height my explorer window is, gradient is always in the same position relative to top, and if i keep expanding downwards the background keeps last colour of the gradient. - the brand logo looks as if it had top, left and right anchors, and it also limitates the minimum width of the explorer window
i though of addind a 3000 x 3000px square with the gradient and centering it, but i know there has to be a professional way of achieving that.
I am developing an AS3 application (not a Flex one) using Flash Builder 4.5. My application can set its graphical components automatically according to stageWidth/stageHeight. My problem is with the actual application size. If I do not specify width/height in the SWF meta tag, my application is compiled according to the default (550x400?). If I do specify (for example 800x480), I won't be able to support other resolutions correctly.
Is there a way to tell the compiler to see the application size according to the device's/stage's sizes?
Actaully I am running a cards game. While running the game in between if I change the style portrait to landscape. then how can I detect the screen size and run the game according the screen style (Portrait or Landscape).
Actaully I have written the code to detect the screen as portrait and landscape. But in between if I change the game portrait into landscape, no more it works.
I'm creating a flash site. I want the flash movie to fill the entire browser window. What size should I make the canvas, I've been experimenting with sizes and a canvas size of 750*370 fills my browser well on a resolution of 800*600
How do you accomodate different resolution settings? What's the most commonly used canvas size for this type of project.
I created a custom textfield component that I need multiples of in a single swf. I also created a non-visual wrapper component to manage them. I am sending info from the textfields to wrapper. I was planning on using the child index to associate the info with the right component. The problem occurs when I have two instances of the textfield component and one of the wrapper on stage and I use stage.numChildren and it returns 1.
How can Application's ControlBar be moved to its bottom in Flex 4.5 ?
The Adobe doc says only:
By default, the ApplicationSkin class defines the control bar area to appear at the top of the content area of the Application container with a grey background. Create a custom skin to change the default appearance of the control bar.
So I look at spark.skins.spark.ApplicationSkin and there is a controlBarGroup (does it hold the ControlBar contents?), but I don't know how to move it from top to the bottom.
I am using % values for height and width properties of my components, so they would look some what similar in different screen resolutions. But when the aspect ratio changes or on Wide Screen monitors, my components are looking very badly as in not consistent and somewhat stretched.
I'm working on a slideshow where I'm calling in photos from an xml file. How do I tell AS to resize the stage according to photo dimensions? Would I need to list the dimensions in the xml file? If so, how would I pull that into the fla file with AS?
I have a moving vehicle on the stage, which should change directions according to where I click on the stage.I already made it work using this formula:var angle:Number = Math.atan2(dy,dx)*180/Math.PI+90;However, I need the car to tween to the correct angle, instead of just "jumping" to it. While this is easy enough to do, the car sometimes takes the longer turn (especially when I click in the bottom-left quarter of the stage), and it seems unnatural.
I've been adding some components to a Flex 4 app (it was originally Flex 3 but has been ported). Some of these components make the app go blank when it loads. I'm not even able to see the loading progress bar. Just white.
To the root tag causes this. I also was able to make it happen when I tried setting a custom components skin from my style sheet instead of from the skinClass property.
Regarding System.capabilities.screenResolutionX in FMX, how would I achieve a movie clip on my stage to automatically alight to the left of the screen/browser depending on the viewers screen resolution?
I'm playing around with the scaleX/Y in the canvas tag and have noticed some strange behaviour. When I set scale in in mxml the width and height of the canvas are adjusted accordingly. For example if I have a canvas like this: <mx:Canvas width="1000" height="1000" scaleX="0.1" scaleY="0.1" />
The canvas now appears on screen to have a width and height of 100 and if inside my creationComplete callback I check the width and height property they are indeed 100. But if I do exactly the same thing except I set the scaleX/Y property from actionscript the canvas on screen appears to have a width and height of 100 as expected, but when I check the width and height property of the canvas they are still at the previous values of 1000.
I'm new to flash and interested in multi-platform graphical game development. I've installed the Flash Builder Burrito test version and want to develop a full screen Android graphical game with Android-Flex components (like buttons etc.).
a) Is it possible to have a full graphical screen and then overlay Android-Flex components (buttons etc.) or ist only possible to integrate a graphical screen within a Flex components app so that Android/Flex components have to been outside the screen and so no full graphical screen overlayed with Android/Flex components is possible?
b) If full graphical screen + Android/Flex components is possible: which project type have I to choose: File->New->Flex Project or File->New->ActionScript Mobile Project?
c) Are the components I can choose to design my Flash-Android project Android-like Flex components or are they real Android components?
Making an Flex App. Just wondering if anyone has created something that fits automatically to the users' screen size and how I go about doing this? One of the principle things is that I need an background image, which is obviously going to have to scale / resize to match the users screen.
I'm currently making a game in which movie clips move across the screen and you have to shoot at them to make them disappear and gain points but I am having problems with the code. I have been able to get the movie clips to disappear but when instead of points appearing in the Dynamic text box, i get the letters 'NaN'.
This is the code I am using at the moment: this.onRelease = function():Void { this.unloadMovie(); _root.panda++; }; (panda is the var name of the dynamic text box).
I need to build something like a banner that shows two things. One is a picture coming in from the left or right side of the screen. The second is related text coming in from the left or right on the screen. I need to have it all controlled by an XML file that lets me specify the picture, direction the picture is coming from, text, and direction the text is coming in from.
I must have a error in my code it should move an object across the screen but it is only doing the first 3 moves (its not working betwen if 3 and if 4)[code]...
I've got several small moveiclips moving around the screen to different locations using the tween class, and for some reason it leaves little red artifacts in their trail on the screen that won't go away. any way to refresh the screen or something? Is the only way around this to cache the movieclips as bitmaps?
