ActionScript 2.0 :: Join 2 Flash Files To Become 1 Flash File?
May 11, 2004
The prblem i am having is that i have:
1, a main interface screen
2, a multiple choice test
they are two seperate files i am wondering if there is a way i can join them together so that once the "Test" button on the interface is pressed the quiz is started,
We are a group of beginners flash developers, and we are making a first game, but we are working in a part each one. So we need to know how we can join the differents files .fla that we are making in only one file .fla is it possible
I need to delivery a proyect on friday and I need to join several swf files. I create buttons like for example ENTER when I click on it I place the function
[Code]...
and it works itload the new file but I can see the other file so what to do is to delete, erase or anything to not see the previews swf i will have back and foward buttons
I'm in the process of making a web page that'll successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional ([URL]), but as soon as I place in the fixit.js script under the flash object and view the page in IE, all the flash elements turn white. Quote:
[Code]...
Anyone knows how to place in flash files in xhtml files on IE without manually controls by clicking on the flash file.
I am wondering if any one can point me in the right direction. I have a number of sound objects. I am wondering if there is any way I can pull out the byte arrays and stitch them together into as one bytearray.
I am trying to delete some files from a flash template I purchased, when I open the .fla file in flash and go into the library, I would like to delete the contact box and the mp3 player, when I locate those files in the library and delete the files, the website no longer opens up (it will not work when I delete those files from the library)?
I was wondering if it is possible to have one flash file using several different xml files?nly one at the time of course, but with different informations, organist in the same way.Say I would use one photo gallery and have it to show different pictures when the flash file is loaded from different pages. If you visit my hollyday.html, you get the holydays pictures, and if you visit my christmas.html, you get my Christmas pictures. Is that possible, or is it easier to have the flash file reading information from different part of the xml file?
I have two FLA files, call them MAP.fla and ANI.fla, that I have to merge. One way I tried was to load the ANI.swf in MAP.swf during runtime using the normal way of doing it, using Loader and URLRequest. However, when I try to run it, flash detects errors about methods I have included in ANI.swf.
I do know that the Loader and URLRequest method of doing it works because I tried using it with a different SWF file with simpler content.
P.S. ANI.swf contains methods, instances with classes of their own and timer events. If Loader cannot work on my SWF, is there any other way of carefully doing this without affecing my FLAs?
Below is the error message i am getting.
TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties. at stageRotation/stageRotation::pause() at stageRotation/::create() at stageRotation/::initStage() at stageRotation$iinit()
Is it possible to embed the flv file in to the flash like other files(images, swf), so that i can handle this in as3 as programmaticaly in the same way as FLVPlayback component? I know the way to add flv file by creating FLVPlayback component. But in this case we always need to depend on the source path of corresponding file. I am not able to find any kind of solution for this. As second way I have imported flv file to the library and created the instance of this but there is some problem with the synchronization of audio with video. Also in this case I am not able to handle this flv in as3 as programmatically.
I am looking for a script that will go through ~75,000 SWF files that we have, will decompile each and find all the Shapes/Elements which size is greater than x.The output should look smthng like:SWF Filename "SWF Path" "SWF overall Size" "Element Name" "Element Size".Does anybody know of a software that might be able to handle that task? How do decompile scripts work ? would it be easy to write something to handle the above task?
I'm working on a Flash project that deals with multiple files. There is a main file that loads in individual SWF files as they click on different buttons. The course has dynamic text Fields that are populated via XML. So right now, my idea is to give each page it's own XML file? Would this be better suited to have one single XML file for all the pages, and the container file or multiple files?
Also, this is going to be a multilingual project. EDIT: The XML files will just be storing text information to populate the text fields, and some links to load in images. Also, the loaded SWFs will never be accessed without the use of the main "container" SWF.
I have Flash CS5 at work, and CS3 at home. I am creating a FLA file at home that I'd like to append to an existing file at work. I'm guessing that I'll just need to import all of the symbols from the CS3 file into the CS5 file and then copy and paste the frames - or is there a better way to do it? What I'd really like to do is to somehow convert the CS3 file into a movie clip symbol that I could just run in the CS5 file. Is this possible?
I'm currently trying to find out how to create external files from a SWF/exe/app file created in Flash. Essentially I'm building a program to create templates for levels in a game. The SWF will be run locally (e.g. not online) and will allow the user to add/remove objects to a level of their design. They then need to be able to save the level template (ideally I need to be able to save as a JSON* file, but I'm sure I could get away with just a simple txt file) somewhere on their computer. These templates will them be imported by the game itself (not written in Flash, hence why I need to save the data as a json or txt file), which will then re-create the levels from the data contained in the save file.
I had assumed this would be something that was really simple to do, but I cannot seem to find any tutorials or information on how to create external files. I can find plenty on reading from existing external files, but nothing about actually writing a new file entirely. I have read a few people complaining that non-local Flash SWFs cannot access the user's hard drive for security reasons, but cannot find any information on local SWFs.
If anyone could tell me even roughly what I'm looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit stuck just now haha *I have downloaded the corelib files which allow me to work with JSON files
I am new to flash and decided to start out using templates to gain a beter understanding. I grabbed a template - that when I went to save it said it was an MX version - once I began to make changes in it re-save and publish it I noticed that some of the elements were missing. I thought it was something I did so I copied the entire directory and just opened the .fla and saved it without making a change and then published it and the items were gone again. I saved it in the same directory only changing the output .swf file and used all of the same html files
I wish to save my flash outpout (SWF) as an SWC file in which I also include all media files (mp3s) that are part of my Flash application. Currently these files reside in folders under my main library where all flash entities (AS3 code, buttons graphics etc reside)What software do I need to use to accomplish that?I now work in CS4 under winXP
i'd like to know if its possible to save information obtained from users to files if the user is accessing the flash file from a cd. I would also like to know how it works if possible. And can the flash file be in .exe instead of .swf?
i have situation in which i have some library projects, say
"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
I installed Flash CS4 Professional trial version for school use. It wouldn't install successfully. I deleted the font files the troubleshooting guide said to, tried again, but gave up. (I'm afraid to run regedit and mess up everything else I have loaded.) (I previously had the Fireworks CS4 trial version loaded, then uninstalled it.) My problem is this- I have it running, but it saves files and then they can't be opened, even if I use the save function often- it's worse when I create the file, test the movie and then save.If I try to open it again, it says "cannot open file." Once it opened a copy I had saved, and it appeared blank, even though it was 544 kb file size. I only need it for a few more days, one more assignment and I'm afraid my previous files are corrupt. I have Windows Vista Home Edition.

I want to join two if statements together and I'm unsure of the syntax. This is what I have but it is obviously wrong. if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT) or if (moveRight_btn.onPress){
I have 2 movieclip on the stage:movie1 and movie2so i need to join these 2 movieclips in just one called movie3 in way that when i call the movie3 it displays me movie1+movie2.
I am constructing a Flash animation and I was hoping to build it by scenes. These scenes would be individual SWF movies that I could import into my final Flash file in consequential order and when finished I would have a completed Flash Movie. There would be no interaction beyond Play/and replay. Where can I get information on how to construct this and is this a recomended way to do it?
