ActionScript 2.0 :: Button OnPress Calls Another Button's OnPress?

Nov 5, 2007

[URL]

First, click on the Abaco island shape on the map. You'll see on rollOver there is a glow around the island. Now click on that island and the glow remains for the zoomed-in detailed view. When you return to map and zoom back out, the glow is removed.

Now, compare this with clicking on the island name "Abaco" from the list on the right, instead of clicking directly on the island from the map. It zooms in and shows the details fine, but the glow that should be there is not.

The reason this problem is very perplexing for me, is that the onPress action of the list button in the right column calls the onPress function of the map button. So, theoretically they should do the EXACT same thing when pushed. But clearly they don't.

Here is the code for the button from the list on the right panel:

Code:
listAbaco_mc.onRollOver = function() {
_root.map_mc.abaco_mc.button_btn.onRollOver();
};

[Code]....

There is more code, for example rollOver, rollOut, and Press actions for the other island buttons, but they are all of the exact same format as the Abaco island button and they all have the same problem.

So, to recap, the problem is that the list button in the right panel do not function properly onPress, even though they are calling the onPress function of the island buttons directly, and the island button onPress function works perfectly. Strangely, all but one little thing works. So it's obviously getting to the correct functions and going through the code as planned, yet that one part about the glow is being ignored or otherwise messed up.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Stop Looped FLV With Button?

May 29, 2010

I want to create a SWF with 10 embedded FLVs as they are smaller file sizes than embedding the video in the main FLA timeline. I have imported using Import Video>Load external video with playback component.

For each of these FLVs i have created separate Movie Clips and placed each Movie Clip in a scene with forward and back buttons.

I need the FLVs to loop when played so I used this code in frame 1 of the Movie Clip:

Code:
import fl.video.VideoEvent;
SWFfilm01.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, videoFinished);
function videoFinished(event:Event){
SWFfilm01.play();
};

The issue I'm having is that when the Next button is pressed and the playhead goes to the next scene, the sound from the previous scene pauses for a moment then continues to play through.

This is the code that I have at the moment in the first frame of the scene:

Code:
stop();
invis01.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,play_S2);
function play_S2(event:MouseEvent):void {
SoundMixer.stopAll();

ActionScript 2.0 :: Cancel A Button's OnPress Action?

Feb 25, 2009

I wondering if there is a way to cancel a button's onPress action.For example on my button I have the following:

Code:

on (press) {
startDrag(this, false, 384, 2.5, 384, 70.5);
}

[code]....

However if you press the button and roll out with your mouse button still held down it will continue to drag even after you release the mouse button. It then won't stop dragging until you roll over and then out of the button.

To correct this I was wondering if there is a way to call the on(Press) action and stop it OR to activate the on(release) or on(rollOut) actions OR a way to activate "stopDrag();" when the user rolls out even if they are still holding the mouse button down.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Button OnPress - Convert To Symbol

I have an image that I put in my movie. I then changed it via "Convert to Symbol" to a button. Within it I have two images, one that is for the up or no mouseover version and the other for the mouseover or down position. This part works fine. However using the code below I click on the button and nothing happens. The mouseover stuff still works fine just not the getURL. This should be so simple but it is holding me up.

Code:
SkipIntro.onPress = function() {

ActionScript 2.0 :: Creating Controls - Button OnPress Function

Jan 9, 2010

I'm doing a school project in flash that basically has to be a movie trailer, just several photos compiled together with some music. I got bored and now am making controls in Actionscript. I'm using CS4, however I have the document based in Actionscript 2.0. Basically, I have created a rewind button that goes backwards, however now I want it to do one of the two things:

If the video was playing when the button was pressed, I want it to go back to playing when released. If the video was paused the the button was pressed, I want it to continue to stay paused when released. I've tried some very basic if statements, trying to assign boolean statements, but I'm stuck. Here's what I have thus far for my rewind button:

Code:
rewind_button.onPress = function () {
onEnterFrame = function() {
prevFrame();
}}
rewind_button.onRelease = function () {
delete onEnterFrame;
play();
}}

Then i have a dynamic horizontal scroller nav that displays thumbs and scrolls based on mouse position this too works ecept loading the thumbs. What i want happen is to combine them in one app where the nav would float under the xml pics and once you click on a thumb from the nav it pushes it in the xml loader file..

Im getting stuck at loading the thumbs in the nav...the xml file already calls all the nessary thumbs i have them pushed in its own array this array is availble on root or main timeline...i need to point the the nav loader (which has its own timeline)to pull from that array.

Within that same MC is a button that tells it to close. However, I run a trace command to it and nothing happens. It seems like the onPress nested in the onEnterFrame is over-riding my button on(press).

ActionScript 2.0 :: Create A Button Which Displays An Animation When The Mouse Hovers Over It?

Feb 9, 2009

I'm trying to create a button which displays an animation when the mouse hovers over it, and then performs an exit animation when it hovers out. I've looked at many of the major tutorials for this without success.The one I'm looking at right now, basically gets the user to create a movie clip containing an animation of a button at different states ('up', 'over' and 'out'). It then uses actionscript to play some of the sequence on rollOver, and the rest of the sequence on rollOUT. It then asks for this code to be pasted on an actions layer on the main stage:

1. btn1_mc.buttonMode = true;
2. btn1_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER,onBu ttonOver);
3. btn1_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT,onBut tonOut);

[code]....

But the error I get when I try and use it is:

"Location: Line 5. Description: The class or interface 'MouseEvent' could not be loaded. Source: function onButtonOver(e:MouseEvent):void
Location: Line 10. Description: The class or interface 'MouseEvent' could not be loaded. Source: function onButtonOut(e:MouseEvent):void"

The weird thing is that I downloaded the .fla file from the tutorial page and managed to get my button working by pasting it in there, but when pasting that back into my movie, this error returned.

ActionScript 2.0 :: OnClip Event Button Script - Stop Action As Well As An OnPress / OnRelease

An OnClip event moves the 5 text buttons onto the screen, then each button has a stop action as well as an OnPress/OnRelease that rotates it from black text to blue text and rolls back to black text again. I just need it to be black text to blue and stop when the viewer clicks the link to go to an HTML page.

How would you code it so that the text button rolls from black to blue and stays BLUE for the selected HTML page as long as the user is on it, letting them know where they are in the site's navigation. The sample code from button 1 is below:

I developed the Scroller component dynamically... everything is drawn from scratch, no library movieClips, etc. I'm starting to think that could be the cause? I've tried many different things: Changed the HTML code to bare bones embedding code.Recompiled in Flex.... same result!Tested on another computer... it worked fine! However, I tested on another computer with FireFox... same problem.

It's so weird.I seperated the Image Slide show component from the Scroller... the scroller had the same effect... didn't display in FF.Played around with WmodeChecked my code for addChild problems, visibilty, alpha properties... nothing out of the ordinary.Asked God.Drank some Gin.Took a break and came back to it.I've reseached Google and the most I could come up with is to compile using FP10. It is FP10. I'm using CS3 and FlashDevelop. When I right click on my Flash file, it does indeed display FP10. Same with Flex.

I created the movie and when I play it in Flash using Control > Play (with loop playback) it all works perfectly, but when I publish it there is a blank space at the end of the movie before it loops through again. It only lasts a fraction of a second but it breaks up the smooth image transitions. I have checked and there are no layers that go past the last image, and there is a keyframe on the last frame of the last image.
