ActionScript 2.0 :: Looping Sounds Multiple Times (time Dependant)?
Apr 8, 2004
Ok say for example I have a sound of a bell chime. I want to play this sound independent of the mainstage and have it key off local system time. So naturally I want to have my sound loop twice at 2am/pm and eleven times at 11am/pm etc.

I have no idea how to use AS3 and I was needing to make my project looping 3 times from the start to the end but stopping on the last frame after the 3rd time it loops. I have no idea how to do this without copying all the frames.
HOWEVER: I would like that if - for example i am on item 10 and click to item 4 - all the thumbnails between 4-10 are removed. it it possible to dispatch this click event X number of times dependant on the - count value?? FOR REFERENCE: THIS IS THE CODE THAT REMOVES ALL ITEMS BEYOND THE ONE I HAVE SELECTED:
if for example the player moves, does it move him every x seconds or every x frames?like, if the flash game runs on somebody with fast computer and other has slow computer, so his game runs slower, so it can result in the player moving slower than the guy with the fast computer. so ya they'll move in 2 different speeds. in c++ you gotta add sort of timer for this so it depends on time incase the player lags or something. sometimes you gotta have 2 buffers for the screen, so while something is displayed on screen it loads the other buffer in the background, and then shows the finished loading buffer and so on. this way there are no graphic bugs.
I have been working on looping movies using cs3, but, I can't get it to work on a movie that was made using ASCS2, because of other coding in there, I assume. I am copying and pasting my code, exactly the way I have been using it, but it gets errors. Does anyone know the best way to create a loop in AS 2 so that the timeline repeats 3 times and stops.
I need to loop my SWF 3 times and have it freeze on the last frame of the movie. I assume a conditional "if" "else" action is needed but cannot get it too work.
I'm struggling to get to grips with AS3 and I was needing to make my project looping 3 times from the start to the end but stopping on the last frame after the 3rd time it loops. I know how to do it in AS2 but that seems to be useless now!
I have constructed this animation of a broken up image. If I just use the nested for loop in a new file, it will run normally but when i try to let it run after a TweenLite which has an onComplete function, the animation will be looped 4-5 times. [URL]
how to get a movie clip to loop a specific number of times in Flash? I know how to stop a movie clip from looping by using the this.stop (); command by placing the command in a separate Action Script layer, in a keyframe, inside of the movie clip's timeline. This allows the movie clip to play through once and then stop. But I need for the movie clip to loop more than once, maybe 2 or 3 times, and then go back to the main timeline.
Also, is it possible to place a pause (I'm guessing, maybe by using a timer of some type?) between the loops, so that the movie will pause a couple of seconds before it loops again and then stop? Please note I do not need the movie clip to stop when there's an event like a rollover or anything. I just need it to play a couple of times, pause between plays and then stop and go back to the main timeline.
I am extremely untrained in CS4 and Actionscript. However I have managed to get along fairly well until I started to dynamically upload images as a gallery. This works great if I have one gallery, but for my site I have 9 galleries!!! I have a back and next button, but I want to be able to use those same buttons for all of the galleries so they look the same. I have split them up and renamed them, but I am clueless on how to script the buttons to work.This is what I have now because I do not know where to put the other button names without getting errors.
stop(); next_btn .addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextImage); var imageNumber: Number=1;
I recently got back into animating and I need some help with my latest project. I have a number of different animations that I would like to be played on the inside of a tv, however I would like for these animations to play at certain times. For example, at 9:00 pm (real time) the tv displays the animation of the character sleeping. I'm not sure how to do this, and I'm not sure if I need an internal clock.
I have a image of a person that I would like to load a certain number of times in a row to show a total of how many people took part in this particular event. In total I need 166 replications of this image, is there any actionscript I can use to do this without having to create a key frame for every separate image?
I have this animated block that I want to use multiple times in a scene. Everything looks fine until I move the background(separate layer) with a tween. The second it moves it shows only one animating block instead of 4. Also, if I click on "show this layer only" it only shows the one block.So how can I use this movie clip multiple times?
I have an array of suffixes that I'm using to load images, some of which are used multiple times:
Code: for(i = 0; i < imageSuffixARR.length; i++){ var tempLoader:Loader = new Loader(); var loaderOBJ:Object = new Object();
[Code].....
I'm running into is that whatever loader calls the multiple used SWF last gets it. How do I fix this so that the same loader can be used multiple times?
What I want is to do this [URL] in actionscript rather than with tweens...as u can see, it takes EONS too long to load (on some PCs at least) (and I know, it DOES need a preloader (which I have), but I'm going to add that later. I want to get this going first). Now, I read a decent bit about onEnterFrame, and did some tutes, but I'm not quite sure how to use it to do what I want.
I have a large image that exceeds the bitmapdata limits, so I am trying to break it up into 4 separate images and encode them separately using the PNGEncoder. The first 1 comes out great. The remaining 3 all contain the same bytearray data and result in a blank image.
Code: public function encodeUsersDrawing():void{ pngImageQuadrant1 = new BitmapData(1875, 2400, true); pngImageQuadrant2 = new BitmapData(1875, 2400, true); pngImageQuadrant3 = new BitmapData(1875, 2400, true); pngImageQuadrant4 = new BitmapData(1875, 2400, true); [Code] .....
when I click a button it loads an SWF, then when I click another button it loads another SWF into the same loader. However it appears to be loading multiple SWF's in conjuction with the amount of times I clicked a button. So say if I clicked a button 3 times it would load 4 of the same SWF's on the forth time and load them at the same time.
Im sure there is a simple way to do this, but it's been driving me nuts for days now.I am trying to loop through all the data in my xml file, thats no problem, however I need to read the data three times for the menu I am building. Is there a simple way to do this? Basically I want to take the first set of results, then add on the second then the third. So I will end up with a list of data three times what is actually contained in the xml doc.
I have an all flash website that works by having each portion of it to load and unload in the center of a frame based off the navigation chosen.Load times on everything but one part of my site are ok.The dimensions of the part inside the frame are 968x674.I know that's relatively large for a flash file, but that can't be changed at this point.Within the page there are objects that come up when you find an item on the screen.Its a dialog box and it shows text, an image, and has a voice over that reads what the text says.After you're done looking at it, there is an x-button to dismiss the window.There are 15 of these and they are exported to the actionscript.I add them in the actionscript via addChild.
The other huge thing is there is a ton on the screen.It starts you off in an environment, and when you click 3 different sections, it zooms into that portion allowing you to look for the items you're trying to find.There is also a man that talks and animates in the beginning and at the end.We are planning on taking out the end part and putting a text box up. URL...The two parts of the site we are trying to optimize is the main menu when you first are at the site, and the "Explore" section.(Just click on the cloud on the front page.
I'm doing a project that has a lot of time line animation.There are 5 buttons. Each one plays a multi-frame MovieClip containing sounds embedded in its timeline.Then there is a button that stops any of the playing movie clips. Of course, this doesn't stop the soundsormally, I'd just use...ActionScript Code:SoundMixer.SoundTransform.stopAll();Problem is, I also have non-timeline sounds that I have playing on a loop for background music, and the SoundMixer would stop the music too. But I don't want the music to stop.Doing some research, I think any MovieClip can have a SoundTransform property you can adjust, so I should be able to control the sounds just inside specific MovieClips. But I can't figure it out.
with the following problem:I have 1 button that when hit 1 time shouldplay "movieclip 1"when hit for the second timeplays "mc 2"on so on untill mc9(each movieclip plays continously when once activated)
