ActionScript 2.0 :: [MX, 04] Reset A Zoom, And Pan Movie Clip?

i have a movie clip that i can zoom and pan, but i am trying to make a reset button that goes to my default position of the mc. I'm thinking about telling the button to place the mc at (0,0) cordinates and scale back to 100%. Am i on the right track? i am using vr. MX, 04.
Sounds strange, but let me explain. What the user sees: Loading the page, color swatches fade in and slide over into place, row by row. Once in place, user can drag and drop swatches around, place side-by-side, etc. The script necessary to attach to a button so that all swatches can be reset back into place where they were, and not generate a replay of the initial movie clip from the beginning. (a goto and play is not what I'm looking for) Here's my code so far:
I was wondering if anybody knew of any technique where i can zoom in and zoom out to certain parts of a movie clip? Im not talking about a map or image zoom component. What im trying to do is a website where you see the "big picture" and depending on which section you want to go to, the movie zooms in to part of the "big picture" and content will load.
I have a movie clip of all counties in the state of Montana (allcnt_mc). Within allcnt_mc there are individual movie clips specific to each county with name equal to the county's name. When clicking on a county, I'd like to zoom to that county and center the stage on it. I've added event listeners to all counties through querying an xml table that has demographic info I am calling into dynamic text boxes. Here is the code I have thus far to load the xml and add the listeners to the county movie clips.

I simply have a rectangle vector image of a landscape and I want it to zoom in when I play it...and I guess stop at a certain point. Not a clicking function or roll over, just when I start up my swf file or go to that specific scene I want it start zooming (gradually, not fast either)
I have created a very dynamic application but realised that if the Browser zoom level is not set to 100% the dynamic positioning of objects are misplaced. some Flash AS3 JavaScript function to reset the Browser Zoom level to 100% every time user click on button?
What I am basically doing is loading external objects into emty movieclips, these are positioned according to the stage width and height. As a test I created a textfield to display the stage width. When I zoom in and click on the buttons (loading new content) the displayed stage width stays the same.
I have an issue with adding a reset button to my drag and drop movie clips.The problem is, if a student drags a movie clip to a wrong location on the SWF file I want them to be able to hit a reset button that would take them the same SWF that they opened and what would showup would a clear page for them to restart their drag and drop exercise.I know how to make the button for this just want the proper action script to be able for user to start over with no movie clip symbols on the page.
I am trying to reset the stage width to its original size when user click on button after changes to the browser zoom level.
However this is restting the width of stage according to the new zoom level with the result that the stage size increase even more. I tried using a variable to use as holder of original stageWidth but how to reset it to that width?[code]...
I'm working on a project for my class using flash as2. I want it to be able to, when you click on a button, it drops a movie clip down the screen, essentially just adding _y to it, but then when it reaches 300y coordinate it resets the movieclip to its original position so that you can click the button and replay the same function. I'm not sure if this would be create empty movie clip each time you release button. I'm quite lost in this area so i dont have any actionscript to show, I really dont know where to begin. <3
im working on a zoom/pan gallery and i have a problem that i can't solve.URL...the pan buttons are not working but the zoom and reset buttons works. im working on movie the image using the mouse now, if you will hold the image and move it it will drag it on stage.the image is a loader the loads and image and placed on screen.there is a mask on top of it and a frame that indicates the size of the gallery.when the user pan the image loader content i want it to stop as soon as it gets to the gallery frame,but i cant seem to find the best way to do it.so basicly when the image is in 100% i dont want the user to be able to drag it but after you zoom the user will be able to drag it but only to the edge of the frame so there wont be any white spaces.i tried a lot of different ways to do it but all of them are complicated and not working the way that i want them to work.

I mean banner's size is not big at all. My other question is that, how do you make it "zoom in and zoom out" on a movie..Like on those banners. Do they binding all the layers to make it a movie then resize it on the movie or what?
Ok, so i am working on a platform game, I am new to making games, but I enjoy it! I need a little help with resetting a Move Clip if there is a hitTest! MY EXAMPLE: When the HP bar hits the bottm, my character resets. I want him to reset AND reset the the MC, or give full HP again. So, how can I take my code below and make it so that when the hitTest is true, it ALSO resets my movie clip?
I am new to flash and I'm trying to do a button. This button should play a short video clip when I would go mouse over it. On Mouse Out, the video should stop and reset.
Does someone have a working fla to illustrate how to load an external movie and zoom and pan to specific location of this movie (with easing)? With actionscript, not necessarily with a control for the user. I am looking for it for some time and unfortunately my programming abilities are not yet sufficient to find it out from scratch (but I am working on it).
Just new in forum and just new in as3 programming. All i want to do is to make some physics simulations (i'm physics teacher...). So i made my first sim with the following code, just to simulate a simple motion with constant velocity. It works ok, except the part i need to reset the display by the means to start the motion all over again (reset button). Then the motion starts but the traces of the previous motion remains on stage. I tried the null command (sp=null) but the sim could not start again because the sp nedded to be non-null...
im making an image recignition app. for a kiosk and im trying to figure out a way to make the movie start over if it hasnt been touched after a certain amount of time. i tried to use a timer class but it doesnt seem to be working the way i want it to.
reset in google yields only its use for timers.However I have code bg.reset() which I suppose puts the background back to the beginning of its timeline.

I am pretty new to ActionScript 3 and Flash. I don't want my movie clip to play unless the person's mouse curser is on the movie clip for more than a second. If the person just runs their curser over the movie clips really quickly, then it should do nothing. It must be more than a second. How do I code that?
I'm creating a small drag & drop activity, and I want to be able to check and see if the dragged movie clip is completely within the bounds of another movie clip (or at least in the bounds of a certain x/y zone on the main stage. I can't use dropTest because it returns true if any tiny bit of the movie clip overlaps with the dropTest movie clip.
I also thought of something that just checks the x/y coordinates of the dragged movie clip, but I'd need this to reflect a range of values rather than one coordinate. For instance, I'd want to return true if the movie clip's x is between 50-60 AND the y is between 50-60. I'm attaching a small graphic to illustrate in case my explanation isn't clear enough [URL]
I have created a flash website, each button is a movie clip with an invisible button over it containing the following script

each page is also a movie clip and on release of a button its played. the problem is that when i press another button to play another movie clip 'page' the old content is still there.
Is there a way of reversing the page transition i have used to bring out the movie clip and then bring in the next movie clip.
