View 2 RepliesI have a basic mouseover in my flex application which changes an image onmouseover and changes it back onmouseout using the code mouse Over "functionToChangeImageSource()" and another one to mouseout.It works fine when you slowly mouse over and out, however if I quickly move the mouse over it, it occasionally stays on the mouseover image and the mouseout function doesnt appear to kick in. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or does anyone have any ideas why its happening?Also, I've tried the rollOver and rollOut instead but it has the same problem.[code]I'd imagine you're correct about the mouseover event not completing before mouseout is but how to I fix this?
View 3 RepliesI have a simple movie clip for which i bind two events 1-MouseOver and MouseOut
in these events i am just tracing simple text
But the Problem is when i take my mouse over the movie clip both events called tracing the string in the output panel
Infact, things should be done like that on mouse over, its text is printed and when i take my mouse away[out] from the movieClip MouseOut event should be called.
ActionScript Code:
import fl.motion.Color;
import flash.display.MovieClip;
[Code]....
I'v created a video. It has 4 layers. An image on each. the page is the same size as the images(all images are the same size). i've added motion to them so the pics move from top to bottom, no gaps in between. thats it. what i want is for the clip to only move when the mouse is placed over the clip, otherwise it shouldn't move.
View 1 RepliesI'm using Flash CS5, and Dreamweaver CS5 to build a site. I'm essentially just using DW as a placeholder for my flash file, which really is the site and all its content. The issue is a minor one, and I'd bet it's a trivial detail I'm overlooking. I saved the .fla file, exported it into my DW .html file, and then previewed it in IE. It looks great, but, when I mouse my cursor over any part of the .fla (basically anywhere in the site), a little box comes up that states what the name of the flash file is.
View 6 RepliesI have a actionscript "Sprite" class which load a transparent png. When i set a "mouseover" event over the Script, it is throw when the mouse goes over the "square" containing the transparent png. I would like a glow effect to be displayed on mouseover, but only when the mouse is on the displayable part of my transparent .png. How can i do to throw the event only when the mouse is not over the transparent part of the png? Do i have to check by myself in the mouseover handler then do what i have to do?
View 2 RepliesI have l logo animation but i don't want it to play every time a user runs over it with mouse. I'd like it to start playing after the user has stayed on the banner for 1 second (30 frames in my case). So if the user leaves the logo before 1 second, the animation wouldn't start.
Can it be done with actionscript? If so then how I use flash for tweened animations and am not familiar with programming languages. So a code examlpe (or a link to one) would be very welcome
The code to activate the animation is as follows:
[Code]...
The Advertisment bar and the Kootenay Swing header have links, that just go nuts when you roll over them. You can still click on them when they work, but the mouse hyperlink icon just flickers. This is bad, because the site is targeted towards people that don't use the internet often, and those links need to tell the people that they are clickable.
View 1 RepliesI'm doing a project for work and need to change the color on this file I purchased from iStockPhoto. It is a world map flash file, which highlights the country you select in green. I simply want to change it so that all highlights are done in Red instead, but am not a flash developer so not sure how to do it.
View 9 RepliesI've done my fair bit of HTML coding and work fairly well with CSS but i've never ever done a mouseover in flash.. Now, the website's text, all of it, is simply located on a text.txt file that the flash file reads and incorporates onto the website.. All text and images come from this text file. This is what I want to do.
Click on Enter site, then when it loads, click on the "Selling" tab at the top of the site. On the "My Listings" section is where I want to have the mouseover text and the "Market Analytics" section (which we'll be renaming) is where we'd like the image to actually appear. My question to you is can this be done within this environment and how so?
I can edit JavaScript somewhat, though its been a while.
I've been trying to get this to work for a while. I have 25 frames I want to loop, but on a mouseover I want it to jump to frame 26 and continue. Actionscript 2 or 3 is fine...
View 1 RepliesI have embedded the calender (datefield and datechooser) control of flex in cfm. When my application page loads the calender (swf) gets loads only if we mouseover the placeholder. However the issue is only in machines which have the debugger flash version and works fine in release version.
View 1 RepliesI listen to internet radio at [URL] and it works pretty well, except for one minor issue. The Flash applet that runs the radio player has a timer on it, where if you don't move the mouse over the player every once in a while, it decides you're idle and shuts off the stream, even if you're not actually idle, but just working on something else with the radio player running in the background.
Is there any way I can send a fake MouseOver message to this applet to keep it from cutting me off in the middle of a song, maybe with a GreaseMonkey script? I'm using Firefox.
I am working on a simple flash project. In Scene 1 I have a large image above and a long scrolling image below which is a movieclip called image_slider. The Scrolling is set with actionscript 3.0 mouse over event listener. When the user moves the mouse right image_slider moves left, when mouse is left it moves right. It works very nicely. Now I wanted different parts of image_slider to change the large image above when they are clicked.
So I decided to do these actions as part of the image_slider movieclip. So I have added transparent buttons to the image_slider movie clip and added event listeners for them and functions to gotoandstop at different frames in Scene1. This works well.
My problem is that now the image_slider no longer moves freely. It does move, but as you can see it if your mouse stops moving the scrolling will stop at the next button. You have to move the mouse again to make it keep scrolling. I don't know why it has decided to do this. how to stop it from stopping at each button edge?
You can see the flash movie at [URL]
I don't mind if any answers are AS2 or AS3 solutions, just curious really - seems weird that I couldn't find out how to do this really quickly.
View 2 RepliesI'm wondering how I can make a Flash start playing a video on MouseOver, and stop playing on MouseOut.
View 1 RepliesI created a simple mouseover (like this one http:url... )with one small image that grows to a LARGER image directly on top of the smaller image when mouse is OVER the smaller image. When user mouses OVER the smaller image the larger image appears correctly.Problem is that even when user mouses OVER the "boundries" of where the LARGER image WILL appear, that also causes larger image to appear. What I want is for the larger image to appear ONLY when mouse is OVER the smaller image.

View 7 RepliesCan I make MouseOver ignore movie clips that obstruct it from view somehow? found mouseEnabled = false, but it somehow doesn't work for children of a movie clip, like:
mc1.mc2.mouseEnabled = false;
That still acts as a barrier, while my intention is to make some children be clickable while others just be invisible to the mouse to allow things behind to be clicked.
I'm using Flash CS4 and I'm trying to create what I think is pretty simple. I have a tree that will have leaves. I want the individual leaves to fall on mouseover. When the animation is complete, I want the leaves to stay where they land and not reset back up on the tree. I know how to tween and animate the leaves, but everything else is really falling apart for me. I feel like this should be pretty simple. I've created the tree and leaves in illustrator and am importing the .ai file into flash and turning each of the leaves into a bitmap (as opposed to a movie file)
View 2 Repliesi am trying to make an image gallery with pan and zoom effect on mouse over ...Now what i want is exactly like the below website .. [URL]remove space & see the website.
View 2 RepliesI'd like to mouseover an object and have it slide across (tween) and stop. Then when the mouse is removed from the object, it returns to its original position.It's fine if we just make it happen to a box - don't worry about all the slideshow bits and all that.
View 21 RepliesI'm trying to trace the instance name of a movieclip when I roll over it with the mouse. I have a grid of 2500 dynamically-created mc's so I don't want each mc to have its own onRollOver function for the sake of efficiency.Basically I want to know if there's another way to know which mc the mouse is over. I'm guessing my only option is to round the mouse's x/y coordinates and find which mc has the same coordinates. I can do that, but before I do I wanted to make sure there's not a simpler way.
Also, am I even correct in assuming that massive amounts of onRollOver's are inefficient? It seems like they would have to constantly be listening, though I'm not 100% sure how flash works.
so mouseOver and RollOver, and their respective outs work great as long as your mouse is actually over the item, or one of it's children. My problem is that I may have another UI component "between" my mouse and the item I want to process the mouse/rollover(maybe a button that is on top of a canvas, but is not a child of the canvas). The mouse is still over the component, there's just something else that it's over at the same time.
Here is a simplified code example detailing my question copy/paste that into your flex/flash builder and you'll see what I mean:Edit, I just made this more complicated and true to my actual problem, drag slowly, if you move your mouse further than the button in a single frame it kinda breaks, but that is just in this simplified version
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" width="500" height="268"
[code]....
How can I scale up an entire animation when the mouse moves over it? Background: I'm no newbie on web development (I do PHP, javascript, CSS et al, and get paid handsomely for it) but I've never done Flash. However I am updating this site [URL] (the guy in charge is a friend) and you can see the Flash radar thingy in the corner. That came from the original site and is very old, links to the wrong pages and has the wrong text anyway. I have compensated for its wrong URLs with redirects but the owner asked if I could update it.
Well, I have a new version in CS4 Flash (having spent several hours seeing if I could modify the original it became clear that a re-write was more sensible), and everything is fine - but the only thing I can't work out is how to scale up the whole image (and scale it back down when the user moves off it). The original code was this, which doesn't scale down even though the code looks like the original author meant it to:
[Code]....
I am set to learn all I can about flash. Here's my first problem:
Code:
stage.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,go);
function go(e:Event):void {
bijtje_mc.x=mouseX;
bijtje_mc.rotation=Math.random()*20;
bijtje_mc.y=mouseY;
[Code] .....
I am not sure if the Mouse events are suited.. but the biggest problem is the MC's, I think. I want the mouse to interact with them.. just like a button you know. Made 3 different MC's, one for when its idle, one when MOUSE_OVER, and one when you click it.. they are on frame 1 , 5 and 10. The problem is.. the mouse cursor isn't interacting with anything.. the custom cursor "bijtje_mc" does work though.
I want to create a menusystem that bases only on mouse over functions. Tough there is one thing that might become quite frustrating for the user and that is small by mistake mouseovers that brings them to another page.So what I want to create is buttons with a delay of lets say 200ms. 200ms that the user has to have her or his mouse over the button to activate it.But I have run into some problems, and after a lot of googling the only result I got is menu-buttons that are activated directly on mouse over, but does not act out the manuver until the delay is over.So the user could practicly have his mouse in china when the button is activated. Which is not the result I want.I want a button that is activated after that the mouse has spent 200ms on the button.This is the failed direct reaction Actionscript 2.0 of the button I got at the moment.
Code:
on (rollOver) {
timer = setInterval(goto, 200);
[code].....
I am making a menu that consists of 6 different rollover buttons, these3 buttons sit on a path where the graphics look like a road. What I need to do is have an mc of a car that moves along the road. When the car is at button 1, and you mouseover button 2, the car moves towards button 2, then when you mouseover button 3, the car moves towards button 3 etc., all while the car stays on the road (path) that it sits on - so not like a mouse follow but constrained to the path. I also need the car to go in reverse, so if the car is at button 4, and you mouseover button 3, the car will move towards it.
View 3 RepliesWhere to even begin. I want to loop frames 1-25 until a mouseover, then i want it to go to frame 26.
View 3 RepliesI'm a Web designer from London and although I have good Photoshop skills, I can't put together my designs for animation
Description:
I would like to know how I can make an image invisible until I hover the mouse over it. Once the image becomes visible how can I make an image behind it (on a different layer) rotate until I move the mouse away.
1. How do I make image invisible until I hover mouse over it?
2. Once image is displayed how do I make an image rotate 90 degrees behind it?
3. Once I move the mouse off, how do I make the button become invisible again, and the rotated image to be restored to it's original rotation.
I am using Flash / Photoshop (CS5)
