View 1 RepliesIs it possible to make a button that when clicked skips the movie to the next marker (as opposed to the next frame or scene).
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to make a flash website that has clickable buttons that will play different movie clips. But I dont know how to make it to just play the movie clip with the button you click without playing all the movie clips on the main timeline.
View 1 RepliesI am loading an external SWF file into my main timeline. The external SWF file contains an FLV video. At a certain point in my main timeline, the SWF file loads and plays the video. Is there a way to say...
If the VIDEO (FLV) is done playing, gotoAndPlay(X)?
I have a 6 frame .swf that is for some reason jumping to the 3rd frame upon loading. This problem occurs in every browser except IE. I'm using AS2. This is the actionscript for the first frame:
stop();
var SKUName = _root.SKUName;
var ProductImage = _root.ProductImage;
var ProductPrice = _root.ProductPrice;
[Code]....
The 6th frame just contains a stop(); action.
I have a flash movie. There is a timeline and a frame with some code.The problem is that Flash skips this frame with code sometimes. It does this absolutely randomly. It can loop 100 times and skip it on 101st. It can skip it on 3rd run.I'm using AS3, always put all the code in separate file. But what should one do if he needs to put EventDispatcher into one of the frames, for example? There is no guaranty that the code will be run.
View 1 RepliesSo, this is a copy of another post I made, but I get a sneaking suspicion I put the post in the wrong forum:[URL]..The summary:
The Socket class in flash player sometimes, for some users (across all sorts of OS and Browsers) will not ask for the policy file from port 843 first, but instead will go straight to the port of the outgoing request, which in this case is our game server, who doesn't really understand the request.
In every case so far the user *is* using the latest version of flash too, so it's not an issue without outdated policy methods, which would have been my first guess.For most people it works just fine, but I posted a log in the thread for one of the non-working players. It's pretty mysterious, and I haven't found a fix yet... though I'm going to experiment with some work arounds.
I'm doing a very simple interactive screens. The timeline has 5 frames, each one with some MovieClips with "onRelease" events associated and some animations... very simple.
I'm publishing it has FP7 & AS2 (mandatory)
Surprisingly everything went fine from start to finnish, even on testing.
But when I was delivering this test version, something weird happened. I have Chrome by default has my browser, and I also tested with Firefox. On these two it works fine. The problem is when you test on IE.
In this browser the SWF skips to the second frame and stops when it loads, acting normal again. I can go back to the first frame and everything looks good.
At the beggining of each frame I have a stop(), and there's no other gotoAndStop events unless on buttons, nothing is triggered by actionscript.
I had the 10.2.159.1 version and upgraded to 11.0.1.152 (the latest)... the problem persists.
Meanwhile a simple timeout seems on 1st frame seems to solve the problem, but I wonder if this is a bug with AS2 on Flash Player specially on IE?
Is there an easy way to switch out a movieClip for another dynamically loaded movieClip?
I have and eventListener onCLICK that when selected it starts an FLVPlayback but I would also like to swap out with another movieClip Play Now / Now Playing button.
Just some background. I am looping and loading a play button jpg's into one movie clip and assigning an incremental number as a name to the play button movie clip. On Click that play button plays a movie but now I would also like to switch the play button graphic to a playing now graphic.
//ADD EVENT LISTENER TO ALL MY THUMBS_BUTTON
thumbs_button.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, playVideoThumb);
for (var i:Number = 0; i < my_total; i++) {
[Code].....
This is the set up so far. Loader1, is playing till home.swf is loaded. I am using the loadClip function for it. onLoadProgress plays the first bit of Loader1.
What I want to do is within onLoadInit() = function(_mc:MovieClip) {
root.ldr1.addEventListener("played", function() {_mc.gotoAndPlay(1);}); // add listener to Loader 1
_mc.stop();
[Code]....
The problem is that it is not playing the function. Also _mc.stop(); is not stopping the loaded file. It keeps playing, though _mc._alpha is working fine.
How can I make sure the event is being dispatched?? Home.swf ( the _mc being loaded), is within a separate movieclip, over the loader.
Is it possible for action script to import audio files into the flash movie while the movie is playing. (Instead of manually importing a file from within the flash application) Or some way to load an audio file located at a remote url, that is not preloaded, and play it.I've searched through the action script reference guide, but have found nothing to do the job.
View 3 RepliesThe movie clip is an actionscript movie which calls images from an external XML file and shows them as a slideshow. What i need to do is after the last image plays, stop the movie and move the main timeline to the next scene of the main movie. Everything logical in my brain is not working, and it may be that I have been staring at this project for too long but for the life of me i can't make this work.
View 11 RepliesI'm having a performance problem that seem to be related to Flash Player 11.I noticed this mainly because Chrome auto-updates the flash player. So, it's now up to 11 in Chrome. During a sliding section transition, the flash player chokes and skips about 10-20 frames. In essence the content jumps, not a smooth transitions. You can see this at the following url. Using a browser with 10, plays as intended, a separate browser with 11, chokes and jumps ahead.
firstworldproblems-[url].....I have security sensitive site, that is more elaborate that I can't share here. But, the same issue is happening above.I'm using LoaderMax to load assets. Adding it to the stage and then animating them in from the left or right of the stage, using Tweenmax. The one I can't show is a series of images, 1280x640 pixels, 10 in total.Removing items from the stage when they are not visible, so I can get the CPU usage back. On Flash Player 10, this is working as intended.On 11 it jumps. I don't think it's the removing assets from the stage that's choking the player, because the above link has the same issue.I feel like this is a Flash Player 11 performance issue.
We're currently creating a Flash presentation (just one movie really) which needs to play and loop on DVD players in retail outlets. It's basically going to be a series of JPEGs which animates between frames. What I need to know is: What is the best size (in pixel dimensions) to go for? How will this be affected by different TV sizes / ratios, such as widescreen vs. normal? We're planning on publishing the Flash movie as a .mov file and then burning this to a DVD. Does that sound a good idea?

View 1 RepliesI have a flash web banner that I need to embed in some pages. The banner is a small movie. I don't want it to play on some pages as it can get annoying. I tried setting the following but it didnt do anthing:
Code:
<param name="play" value="false" />
How can I prevent it from playing?
I have exported my flash project into swf format
it is not playing smoothly
Even in the test movie also it is coming like that
I have increased the frame rate to 120fps even it is coming like that
I have this little NetStream movie (which I'm not allowed to show, sorry) set up like this:
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
[code].....
I have a website that consists of 3 pages - About, Services, Contacts (every page is a separate html file). I have the same flash movie embed to every page (animated header intro). I want flash intro to play once and then stop. User can browser through these 3 pages, but flash shouldn't play anymore. Only if user closes the whole website (a browser, or a tab) the flash should refresh, and after user enters the website again it will play again once and stop.
View 1 RepliesI have a sound clip that I'm loading externally into my flash file. The code I'm using looks like this and is placed in the as layer on the first frame,
var mySound:Sound = new Sound();
var myChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();
var myTransform = new SoundTransform();
var lastPosition:Number = 0;
mySound.load(new URLRequest("introaudio.mp3"));
myChannel = mySound.play();

I'm a newbie at Flash, so started playing with a pretty standard code sample: one layer contains a movie clip with a flying rectangle, another layer has a button to control it. All script code is in Main.as file. The rectangle was named square1 through the Property window. Here is the problem: the constructor for Main has a line: square1.stop(); to prevent clip from playing, but it doesn't help - it plays. I know the constructor fires, because it has trace("stuff") in it. The code does check that the stage has been created.
What strange is that square1.currentFrame always returns 1, and square1.totalFrames returns 1 as well. The layer has 24 frames on the timeline. I tried a tween with just 2 keyframes, then converted whole tween into frames - same result. I mean, the thing is flying before my eyes, how can it be 1 frame???
I even added a listener: square1.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onFrameChange); The event fires all the time, i.e. the frames change, but currentFrame is still 1. Also, tried to name individual frames and use square1.gotoAndStop("begin") and stuff like that. I am really stuck with this stupid problem.
I'm new to working with flash and have a quick question about embedding flash with the SWFObject.js file.I can successfully embed an object and play it, but what I'd like to know now is if there is a way that I can be notified when the movie is done being played without editing the flash file itself, since I have no real way to do that.
View 1 RepliesI'm using the same code I always use for preloading another swf but it's not working this time. The problem this time is that when the loading bar gets to 16% every time you can hear the movie I'm loading playing in the background. I can just add a stop to the first frame of the movie I'm loading ("trial_1.swf") but how do I tell it to go to the second frame once it has loaded?
Here's my code:
var myrequest:URLRequest=new URLRequest ("trial_1.swf");
var myloader:Loader = new Loader();
myloader.load(myrequest);
[code]....
how to code this on a button
onrelease
gotoandplay(10); // i need delay here before activating the next code below//
gotoandplay(80);
the trick is.. i want the button to play frame 10 to 40 then after playing from frame 10-40 the movie stops and then play frame 80 to 100
I've compiled an MTS video into MP4 format using FFMPEG. The video is 2 minutes long.
I want to be able to play the video back but start at 0:15 seconds and end at 0:45 seconds. Effectively I want the playback software to only show 30 seconds of playback available. The software must be a Flash-based application for integration into HTML.
I need to create a splash page type thing. It needs to play a flash movie and then when that movie has finished show a full screen image using html/js. THe movie will be flash and the image display will be javascript powered.
View 2 RepliesI can't believe how impossible it has been to find info about this. I'm sort of a beginner with actionscript, but this shouldn't be as hard as I'm finding it to be.
I'm using AS2. I have an ordinary FLV video playing with one of the skins that comes with the Flash software (CS3). That all works perfectly fine. What I need to do, however, is add a large "PLAY" button over top of the movie. I have made that work also. But, I need the button to disappear when the movie starts playing, because it is obviously in the way and making it hard to view the video.
Some forums suggested making that button disappear when it is clicked. That would be fine, except that the video player skin also has a play button, and if someone clicks that button instead of my new large button, I still need the large button to disappear.
So what I'm trying to figure out how to do is something like: if the FLV is playing, make this object (the button) disappear or become invisible. This can't be that difficult!
give me the actionscript for a bar that has a play and stop button to play and stop frames in a flash movie. i would be gratefull if you could as i am really stuck
View 2 Replieswell, I got this for my Play/Pause button (on stage):
Code:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
btn_play.onPress = function(){

I can get a flash movie to play in Internet explorer 7. It will not load the movie. Does anybody know of this and if anyone may have a html code to tell IE7 to load and play this (my) movie.
