I have designed a Flash animation for a client who has asked me to also provide it in a format which can be used in a film he wants to produce in Apple Final Cut Pro. I assumed the best format would be QuickTime but whenever I export the Flash file in to QuickTime the quality of the film is awful - the graphics leave fragments of themselves behind as they move (if that makes sense?!) and the overall quality isn't very crisp.
I made a movie in Flash CS3. The exported SWF shows that the right hand side of some of my letterforms (made from a non-converted font) are clipped off. Switching fonts produces similar results. Is there some glitch in the program that I am no aware of?
I am loading an external SWF file into my main timeline. The external SWF file contains an FLV video. At a certain point in my main timeline, the SWF file loads and plays the video. Is there a way to say...
If the VIDEO (FLV) is done playing, gotoAndPlay(X)?
So i'm trying to rewind a movie clip using AS3. I've tried using an ENTER_FRAME event and, in the function, using gotoAndStop(mymovie.currentFrame - 1) to decrement the frame until it reaches #1, however it seems to play very slowly and choppy, not like when I just use play();
In any case I had a question about exporting. You see I imported a flv file (which was converted from a wmv) into Flash Prof CS5, when I did this I got a nice interface to choose a player control skin for the movie. However when I export the movie the player controls are no longer present.I'm doing this simply so I can embed the swf on a website and wish the user to have some control over it.
Is it possible for action script to import audio files into the flash movie while the movie is playing. (Instead of manually importing a file from within the flash application) Or some way to load an audio file located at a remote url, that is not preloaded, and play it.I've searched through the action script reference guide, but have found nothing to do the job.
I'm trying to make a flash website that has clickable buttons that will play different movie clips. But I dont know how to make it to just play the movie clip with the button you click without playing all the movie clips on the main timeline.
I am using AS2 in CS5.5.I am creating a project for a class that introduced me to adobe flash. The issue is I have gotten to a certain point about 15 scenes. During say the 15th scene scrolling through the timeline animations works fine, playing it on test scene works fine. When I go to play it on test movie it stops at a certain point. At first I thought it might have been a misplaced stop action but there is none to be found. The weird part is every other scene I create after that continues to freeze as well, the images are there, but the animations won't play. All my previous animations play before those with the issue, it's justThese new ones won't play for some reason in test movie, but work completely fine in test scene and the timeline.
I was wondering, what was the best way to for actionscript 3.0 to detect cuepoints playing from a FLV movie that is playing from an FLV playback component?
We're currently creating a Flash presentation (just one movie really) which needs to play and loop on DVD players in retail outlets. It's basically going to be a series of JPEGs which animates between frames. What I need to know is: What is the best size (in pixel dimensions) to go for? How will this be affected by different TV sizes / ratios, such as widescreen vs. normal? We're planning on publishing the Flash movie as a .mov file and then burning this to a DVD. Does that sound a good idea?

I have a flash web banner that I need to embed in some pages. The banner is a small movie. I don't want it to play on some pages as it can get annoying. I tried setting the following but it didnt do anthing:
I will need to display the frames of an FLV at different rates.
Here are some examples:
the user will 'scrub' through the flv frames(front/back) the flv will need to play at half the speed on a user interaction.
Currently I'm using LoaderMax and it's VideoLoader object to load and play FLV files. I've tried using the playProgress property, but only the keyframes of the FLV are displayed. I got the same result with the basic setup(using the NetStream class)
As a workaround, I playback the FLV once, and cache BitmapData instances in which I draw/cache each frame of the video. After this is done, I use the BitmapData Vector to update a Bitmap on stage. Scrubbing/changing speed works fine with this method, but still the user needs to see(wait for) the sequence once, while it gets cached, which I don't like.
1. Can skip "Exporting SWF Movie" step once i successfully exported and built an swf.I dont need to to export & built it every time when there are no code/design changes. Wasting lot of time to export to swf file. Can I skip and run already built swf from CS4 workspace directly?
2. Is there any commandline/scripting provisions is available in CS4 to automate the exporting/publishing part. So that i can run the script to publish a swf?
I have a website that consists of 3 pages - About, Services, Contacts (every page is a separate html file). I have the same flash movie embed to every page (animated header intro). I want flash intro to play once and then stop. User can browser through these 3 pages, but flash shouldn't play anymore. Only if user closes the whole website (a browser, or a tab) the flash should refresh, and after user enters the website again it will play again once and stop.
I'm programming a game in as3 using flashDevelop the player (among other things) is moving across the screen using EnterFrame event which update his coordinates while he moves its hard to see details of the animation and its look kinda blur how do i fix this problem?
I am using Adobe AIR to develop for Android and loading xml text into a dynamic text field.... when I drag the text to see more or less, it is PAINFULLY slow
I'm a newbie at Flash, so started playing with a pretty standard code sample: one layer contains a movie clip with a flying rectangle, another layer has a button to control it. All script code is in Main.as file. The rectangle was named square1 through the Property window. Here is the problem: the constructor for Main has a line: square1.stop(); to prevent clip from playing, but it doesn't help - it plays. I know the constructor fires, because it has trace("stuff") in it. The code does check that the stage has been created.
What strange is that square1.currentFrame always returns 1, and square1.totalFrames returns 1 as well. The layer has 24 frames on the timeline. I tried a tween with just 2 keyframes, then converted whole tween into frames - same result. I mean, the thing is flying before my eyes, how can it be 1 frame???
I even added a listener: square1.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onFrameChange); The event fires all the time, i.e. the frames change, but currentFrame is still 1. Also, tried to name individual frames and use square1.gotoAndStop("begin") and stuff like that. I am really stuck with this stupid problem.
I'm new to working with flash and have a quick question about embedding flash with the SWFObject.js file.I can successfully embed an object and play it, but what I'd like to know now is if there is a way that I can be notified when the movie is done being played without editing the flash file itself, since I have no real way to do that.
I've got a problem in actionscript3 with moving large DisplayObject-s. When the size of the DisplayObject is quite large (more than screen size) the movement loses smoothness and it looks like the object starts jumping forward and backward, which overall looks very unpleasant. Does anybody know the way to fix that? I am trying to make a sort of a race game, where I need to move the background sprite to make the illusion of movement.
get all MovieClip objects that have been exported for ActionScript from a compiled SWF. It seems like it's something that should be possible, but I've never done/needed to do it until now, and it has me a bit puzzled.I guess I could just export all of the SWFs individually, but I'm looking for a better way to keep track of my items...
I'm working through Dreamweaver fairly well, and I'm now wanted to import Flash buttons I've created myself into Dreamweaver for a website I'm currently building, and it's here that I'm finding the problem. I have been to the 'get URL Function', but it says something about needing to link to a web page? But my problem is how can I link Flash Buttons to a web page, when my site is still being developed and not published? Do I have to publish first?
I'm using the same code I always use for preloading another swf but it's not working this time. The problem this time is that when the loading bar gets to 16% every time you can hear the movie I'm loading playing in the background. I can just add a stop to the first frame of the movie I'm loading ("trial_1.swf") but how do I tell it to go to the second frame once it has loaded?
Here's my code:
var myrequest:URLRequest=new URLRequest ("trial_1.swf"); var myloader:Loader = new Loader(); myloader.load(myrequest);
i have put a flv video put in a flash cs3 , i want is that when i press i a button ,ofcoure which i will create, movie and sound fade out smootly , rather then movie and sound stops at once, meaning the video fade out smoothly and sound volume slowly,lowers down ,until it is totally silent,what code should i use
