ActionScript 2.0 :: Have More Than One Line (different Styles) Laying Over Each Other, Controlled By One Mouse Event?
Sep 9, 2002
I'm curious, can I have more than one line (different styles) laying over each other, controlled by one mouse event? I hope that's clear....what i'm looking to do is add some depth to the line that is drawn by the user....this seems like it sould be the easiest if it is possible. I've tried duplicating the "line" object but whatever one is last in the script ends up on top by itself.
I have to develop an application in flex. In that application an user can draw line while dragging the mouse. Then if he clicks on that line it should be selected. How to add mouse click event listener to a line object?
Is there a way in as3 to manually call one of the preset line stroke styles? I need to call one of the stroke styles given in the pull down menu (6th down actually) in the line drawing tool. I.E. I'd like to be able to draw the exact same line via manual calls in as3 that I can draw with the line took in the GUI.
i was wondering if theres a way to link the amount and direction of an objects rotation to the mouse position. I want it so if you move the mouse far to the left the object spins fast anticlockwise but if you move it to the center it stops.
I have created this spinning diamond flash with a dynamic frame rate controlled by the mouse cursor. it spins from the right to the left if the cursor is at the left side of the diamond and vice verse, and also the further away the cursor is from the middle of the diamond, the faster it spins.
it works perfectly awesome in Firefox and by itself, but when it's in IE, the cursor loses control of frame rate, so it spins at the highest frame rate regardless where the cursor is at. I used nextFrame(), prevFrame() to do the winding and rewinding job, and frame rate gets changed in ENTER_FRAME. I've heard some say that IE ignores frame rate per frame? is it true? if so, how do I fix it?
I want to make an interface that can be controlled by the mouse or by the arrow keys - the only simlat to what I'm trying to achieve is the game Colin McRae.
Lets say I have 3 buttons. If I move my mouse on any of them it gets an mouse over effect.
What I want to do is to combine this with the arrow keys that should be able to jump between the buttons - and the one selected is in the "over" state - to select it I press return.
Code: // EXAMPLE CREATED BY GENESIS F5 (www.flashkit.com) stageheight = Stage.height / 2; overhangy = ((stageheight * 2) - image._height) / 2;
[code]...
Basically, my problem is that i've got 15 buttons labeled Channel 1 to Channel 15, but when the page first loads up, it skips down showing the very last button at the bottom, rather than the very first button at the top. The top button is off the screen.
I'm trying for two days to make a animation and it needs AS but I'm not good at all with it. I'm a graphist ( french, sorry for the grammatical mistakes in the post ) and I just don't get I want to make an infinite panoramic controlled by mouse cursor position ( left et right ), with active zone in it.
I've made my image for that, and tried several code but nothing work.
I have a movieclip that moves on the x axis and is controlled by the mouse. I want to set boundaries for the movieclip so it won't go past a certain section on the stage. For example, say there is a rectangle on the stage and the paddle is supposed to appear to be inside the rectangle. I hope this makes sense. The movieclip is called mcPaddle. Here is my code.
ActionScript Code: stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, movePaddle); function movePaddle(event:MouseEvent):void
I have a problem with a timer-controlled event. The animation breaks on half of its way - the tweened textfield gets pulled back only half the way as if the timer finished too fast. Here is my code:
PHP Code: function throwErrorMessage (e:Event):void { var metaErrorTween:Tween = new Tween(__errorText_txt, "y", Strong.easeOut, -32, -2, 65, false); var__autoToggleTimer:Timer = new Timer(1000, 1); __autoToggleTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, autotoggleErrormessage); __autoToggleTimer.start(); } function autotoggleErrormessage(e:TimerEvent):void { [Code] .....
I need to set a mouse-controlled scrolling animation to ease when it starts and when it stops in AS2. Here's my current onEnterFrame script. Might be a little crude, but it succeeds in starting and stopping the animation when the mouse rolls off the movie. Moves left on one side and right on the other. I just want the starting and stopping to be eased a bit.
URL..On this site it has this Image Carousel controlled by moving my mouse side to side, is there a flash component, or some flash script i could use/buy?
is there anyway when i use scroll bar component in flash... how do i make it so that i can be controlled by your mouse scroll button.. thing.... ( if its possible )
my code is not having the desired effect of having labels to the left of the textinput fields*(like in nearly all normal scenarios with forms). The labels are appearing above the textinput fields.Basically what i have is text sitting above the textbox instead of alongside it to the left.[code]
I have an array of images I want to set them out in a grid with some padding. If the total image width + the padding is greater then the stagewidth I want to create a new row.
Has anyone written a class or function to tackle this problem?
When I'm laying out objects on the code, I noticed that I'm having a hard time getting things to stack properly. I know that I need to be dealing with the index property, but I don't know how.
What are some properties, methods etc that can help me easily move around my objects on the stage and visually stack them properly? (Also, can multiple objects have the same index?)
I have a form, with input text fields, and static text labels between each...
like this
(static) name (input) name (static) email (input) email
[code]....
then a submit button. on the right hand side of all of these fields. It seems that when I press tab, instead of cycling from one input text field to the next, and then ending with the highlight on the submit button, it keeps tabing up to the "Address" line of my browser.I'd rather it tabed through each of the text fields.
I've managed to follow some drawing tutorias which work fine (mouse down draws a line everywhere you move mouse like MS paint).I would like to adapt this now if I can so that when a user clicks down, a straight line will follow their mouse until they click again and this releases the straight line. This should leave one line on the screen, then they are free to move their mouse and repeat the action again.
I am trying to learn JavaScript and I am wondering whether JavaScript has a event listener just like ActionScript's ENTER_FRAME. Basically, I want this event listener to listen "all the time" not just wait for any particular instance (mouse click, keyboard event) of event.
I have a flash that has a background symbol that responds to CLICK event. On top of that symbol I have a sprite that contains a Bitmap with transparent pixels. Both of them are added to the stage, so they are not related directly.
I want clicks on the transparent pixels on the sprite to go straight through to the background. I have read about mouseEnabled / mouseChildren but have not been able to make these work. The symbol ignores the mouse events when I use them, but does not pass it along as if its transparent.
Is this possible to do with flash? Or will I have to re-route mouse events?
My stage has about 25 buttons on it. Each button when pressed to tweens the background to some random x/y coordinates and then loads an external swf file. This is all working, but the timing is off. How can I wait for the initial background tween to end before I make the loader call to the .swf file.Currently each button's behavior is called on the MouseEvent.CLICK event which calls a function that knows its unique filename.swf. I know you can add the MOTION_FINISH even to the tween event but then I would have to call a new function and lose track of the button that initially called it.
Then of course both event are captured no matter where i click. Is it possible to capture independent mouse clicks on both of these two movie clips and if so, how can i do that?

I need to perform an event when the mouse moves AND when the mouse button is down, how can I do that? What will happen is that when I click and drag the mouse, the width of an object will change. Here is what I have so far:
Basically I am dynamically calling product buttons, which on rollover invoke a child of a dropdown, which in turn invokes children which are squares filled with colour. What I need is for these squares to be clickable which will then colour something else using the colourMatrixFilter (I'll probably start another post for this problem at a later date). For some reason though adding the Square as a child to it's rightful parent - the dropdown makes the listeners completely useless. Add to the stage and the listeners work. I can't work out why either and have done loads of searching.[code] also if someone could show me in the right direction of pulling the XMLdata for the squares (which will be a name attribute).
This is a very basic question but I can't seem to find an answer. I have a mouse over event and have created the buttons with the mouse overs which is working great. I created the actionscript to go to a specific web page when a user clicks the button. Now, I need to add a label to the mouse over so when someone mouse's over any area of the button, it will show them a particular name for the button.
I am sure that this can be done using actionscript in a mouse event roll over command but I can't figure out what I need to show the text. Here is where I am:
