ActionScript 2.0 :: Manage The Volume Of A Complete Movie

Is there any way to manage the volume of a complete movie. I mean, a sentence that applies to all sounds playing and sounds that are not playing yet. I'm trying to manage some sounds that must be inserted on the timeline in stream mode. I must can set all sounds to volume zero without stopping them. They have to keep running. I know that if I call the sounds by actionscript without inserting them on the timeline is easy to do. but this time I just have to use it this way.

I've created a small music player with a sliding volume control. I'm having trouble with the volume. Though it does control volume properly, if I set the initial volume to less than 100%, the volume always starts at 100% until I move my mouse over the player. At that point, the volume changes to whatever the initial volume is set to.Is this a flash bug, or am I missing something? Here is the affected code (code for other buttons/functions omitted for brevity):

I'd like to be able to set the volume at say 50%, but the above mentioned behavior happens each time.

I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.
Here is my code below dealing with the volume slider.

The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.

I made a test where I download a file using URLLoader - something like this:

in the middle of the downloading process I physically disconnect the internet connection. the download stalls - but after aproximately 30 seconds downloadSuccessful is invoked, although only half of the data was downloaded. how can I make sure that the data to be downloaded is complete and correct?

I am loading in binary files with the url class which can be quite large 10mb + and it works fine on my server but another server I am testing on it can sometimes not work. Sometimes it will not load the file and other times it will only load about 20% and it throw a complete event??? Then of course other times it works fine. This server is https maybe that has something to do this it?

I have this rather large movie file that I'm working on and unfortunately the mp3s that I'm loading into the movie are all at a very low volume. So I'm using the below code to raise my volume but I'm anticipating on having about 25 instances and I need to create, I believe, either an array or a class that "calls" the idea/objective behind code below.

I'm currently stuck in my flash animation.I'm currently on frame 101, there is only a black background and a movieclip with looping sound and dynamic text fading in and out again.My problem is that I don't know how to make the flash advance to frame 102 after the movieclip has completed once. I have done it before with a sound with the onSoundComplete command, but there doesn't seem to be a onMovieClipComplete command. My question is general is: How do I make my flash proceed to the next frame after the movieclip is done?

[URL].. The preloader on this site seems to run through a complete animation before moving forward in the movie.
I am curious if there is something to how preloaders like this work. Does each animation happen after a certain precent is loaded (in this example, when the squares turn green) or are they just animations that have nothing to do with the actual preloading?

I have another movie that loads called "scene-3.swf that holds a small gallery of movies". is there any way to make "scene-1.swf" auto-mute or turn down the volume of "juke.swf" when it loads, Then auto turn it back up after I click to another movie?

Flash 5: I am making a children's game with tons of different buttons that make different sounds. I would like to make two buttons (up and down, respectively) that control the volume of ALL sounds in the movie, not just one sound. Is there one singel script that I can do that with?

I've got a serious of games which in turn load off a main main swf.I have mute and unmute buttons on the main menu and the same buttons in each game.When I unload/load a game I want the volume to stay as it is so they player doesn't have to keep turning the volume off. AudioOff is the button shown when the volume is off and AudioOn is the button shown when the volume is on.The code I've got now keeps the volume on or off through the games but the buttons aren't showing up correct with this code..

I converted the slider bar and slider button to buttons. Then, I made the slider button into a movie clip.
Here is the code I placed while slider button was a button:

It seems right to me but I don't know. The movie button slides down the slider bar but it just doesn't affect the volume. Going to try to attach my FLA to offer better insight. Just tried to upload it and no matter if it's FLA or zipped FLA, it says it failed.

I have an ordinary button and I have a little movie of an axe crashing down on the button when it is released. Once released what I want it to do is FINISH the axe chopping down THEN start the specified scene. the problem? the movie of the axe doesn't complete before the selected scene starts.

We have craeted a viral video.I converted raw video to an FLV file and created a swf playing file which progressively streams the FLV file.At end of video I just want to have a final screen that shows some animated text. How is this done?!That is my confusion. In the swf playing file (that calls FLV file) can one program an Action Script that identifies when video has stopped playing and then move to say Scene 2, Frame 1 to play animated text?

I have seven loops in total. I imported them into the library. i've put each of them in a seperate movie clip with the names loop1,loop2,.In those movie clips, the first (key)frame contains the action stop(); . The second frame is a keyframe too and from here on the sound starts. And of course they loop.Okay, now the buttons to control the movie (Prev, Stop, Play, Next) work fine, but let me explain the system i used. I used a var loopnumber and everytime you click Next or Prev, it '+'es 1 or '-'es 1. I also set a variable number_to_play = "_root.loop"+loopnumber, so you would get _root.loop--number--, where --number-- is 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 7. To actually play the sound, i used tellTarget(number_to_play) {gotoAndPlay(2)}.That's why i added stop(); to the first frame of those clips.how can i make a volume slider for those sounds inside my movie clips ? I've checked this forum already for questions like this but they don't use the system I use.

My code structure is
FlashTesting --> folder contains
Test.fla with one button called cmd_button
engine --> folder contains

When I compile output says 1120: Access of undefined property cmd_button
folder structure
FlashTesting -->engine--->code
All I want to access cmd_button to add EventListener which is in code folder. Seems can't access fla components.

I have swf file containing a game with english language. for question sake will call it mygame.swfNow what I want to do, is to take the fla file and translate it to french and german and save to differen swf files.So now i have:English - mygame.swfFrench - ygame_fr.swfGerman - mygame_gr.swfSame game, different language.My question is: what is the acceptible / good way to contain text in fla file so it will be in one place? like hashtable or some array?I am developer, just not flash developer this is why Im trying to consoult Im not interested in keeping data in external files (xml), I want everything to be keept within swf.

I'm working on an AS3 project that must load a lot of external files; images, sound clips, movie clips etc. The program first loads an XML file that contains the file names of all assets needed by each class. From that point on I'm not sure what would be the best way to distribute those assets.I thought about making a dedicated assets class that will load everything the XML object describes, and then pass it to each class' constructor so they can access the objects they need. This seems like the "tidiest" option, but is there a best practice way for managing loaded assets?

PURE MVC - In my application there are multiple screens which are minimized like in windows desktop. Now each has different instances of mediator which have same notification. So if I do changes in one screen say press some button >> which sends some command >> to proxy >>then proxy sends notifications to mediator. But as multiple screens are active there it is showing changes in all screens as they are notified too by proxies. How to make sure that proxy calls to particular view component (mediator) and not for all live instances of mediators ?
