ActionScript 2.0 :: Save A Certain Movieclip As A JPG Or Rather BMdata Of That Movieclip As A JPG?
May 19, 2008
FileReference is great, but what about downloading an image rather than uploading? Is there a way to do this in Flash 8? Say, being able to save a certain movieclip as a JPG? Or rather BMdata of that movieclip as a JPG?
I have created a customized dress up avatar using flash. Now I have to do that a registered user can make his avatar. After user creates his/her avatar how can I save the customized avatar in a database?
I'm aware this is possible in AS3, but Im working in AS2... and (to make things difficult) I'm working on an offline application. It is going to be distributed via CD, will run through the application and then save the text inputs (basically an order form) as JPEG (unless it's possible to save to PDF - but as not all computers will have PDF writer I assume this is impossible)Am I correct in thinking I need to utilise the Bitmap Class? I'm using SWF Studio to wrap the application
I'm trying to use the action - object.setRGB(0x000000) - to change the colour of a movieclip, but when i restart te file.swf it doesn't maintain the colour that I added the last time. Is there a way to save the colour added?
I need a very simple(*) image editor made in Flash so the users of my web page can edit pictures and then save them to my server. I'm beginning this project trying to save to a jpg or png the content of a movie clip, but I didn't find any information on Google. Can you give suggestions of how to begin? And if you know some opensource projects like this one, please share it here.
(*) very simple means, resize, crop, add text and overlap other images.
This is my first question here :D, first sorry about my english. My question is basically how can i save a flash Movie Clip to FLV. The Movie Clip is generated by users and it has various sounds and animations and i need to save an FLV to send it to Youtbue. What have I tried: I found some question here about using an Alchemy Lib that I am using to grab the Movie Clip frame to frame and save it to Bitmap. The Alchemy Lib converts those frames to FLV like a charm and supports saving chunks of sound using ByteArray.
In this situation my Problem is, how can i grab the sound of Movie Clip to send it to Alchemy Lib? Iīve tried using:SoundMixer.computeSpectrum(sndData, false, 2); Witch returns me a byteArray in sndData variable but is useless since itīs used for render Audio Wave forms on screen. Thougth aboud using Sound.extract(); but i believe the sound class is used only for one MP3 sound and I need to grab the mixed sounds generated by Movie Clip.
I have been using [URL] to create an flash file that creates a picture of an movieclip. But this only allows me to download the image from the flash, not upload it to a ftp server and to a database. The php file looks like this
<?php switch ($_POST[format]) { case jpg: header(Content-Type: image/jpeg); break; } case 'png': header('Content-Type: image/png'); break; if ($_POST[action] == prompt) { header(Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=.$_POST[fileName]); } echo base64_decode($_POST[image]); ?>
and I want the function if ($_POST[action] == prompt) to upload the image to an ftp and a database?
I have a requirement to save a part of animation that comprise of many movieclips in a parent movieclip and make it available for another user to edit it. So, Its pretty sure that I cant save it as a bitmap data.
I want to make a save the position of a movieclip. I have a dragable movie clip, and I want to drag it and when I play the movie again, the movie clip is where I drag it for last.
I have MovieClips on my Flash Stage that when clicked on--they toggle ON/OFF. My goal is that when a user clicks either ON/OFF--then leaves the flash website--another user can visit the site--and see that state of that MovieClip was either left ON/OFF.
I would need a way that when a user toggles ON/OFF--that state is saved in a variable--passed onto PHP--saved in an XML file--and then when that is done--Flash calls a function to update--to read the XML file--see if it needs to update the ON/OFF state of the MovieClip toggle button.
Multiple people would be able to go to this flash site--and toggle (ON/OFF) the objects on the stage. When more than one person is toggling--those people should instantly see objects being toggled (ON/OFF).
i want to drag a movie-clip from A to B via different positions and on stop drag , the movieclip must go back to initial position ,via the same way traversed by the mouse and with the same speed. i did an example but it's not taking exactly the same speed and i'm not using classes(you will find it attached). i have to use classes in AS 3.0.
i have a pie chart with clickable sectors. when you click a sector it jumps to the next frame on a movieclip and changes colour. I want to use Local Shared Object to save the frame position so when i come back to the swf later on the sectors of the pie chart are saved.
I have an animated MovieClip and I want to save it to computer as animated swf !is there any way to convert it to byteArray and send it to FileReferenc and save it ?I tried writeObject but it doesn't work !
I just made a streaming video player (through the help of florianvanthuyn here) w/ AS3 and did the "create new symbol" thing and chose movieclip. When I copy/pasted the movieclip to a new document, all actionscript-based functions did not work. It seems the actionscript was not saved in to the movie clip. The tutorial that I based my player on had the player as a movieclip, but the actionscript outside of it, and referenced it like "movieclipname.instancename...".So my question is, do I have to have my actionscript in the main document, or can I save it inside my movieclip? It would be much more organized to be able to double-click on a movieclip (e.g. "player" or "chat") and go edit the actionscript for that particular piece, then to have to sort through tons of code in one big area in the main document. In other words, to make it so I would only see the player-based actionscript when inside the player movieclip, and only seeing the chat actionscript when inside the chat movieclip, and so on.
I've written a simple MovieClip replacement that converts an existing imported MovieClip to a sequence of BitmapData. This removes the requirement for Flash to render vector data in the MovieClip on each frame.
But BitmapData has a huge memory footprint. I've tried converting the BitmapData to a ByteArray and using the compress() method. This results in a significantly smaller memory footprint. But it has proven impractical. For each redraw, I tried uncompressing()'ing the ByteArray, then using SetPixels to blit the data to the screen, then re-compressing() the frame. This works but is terribly slow.
So I was wondering if anybody else has an approach I could try. In Flash, is it possible to compress bitmap data in memory and quickly blit it to the screen?
I wonder how native animated GIFs work in Flash. Does it uncompress them to BitmapData behind the scenes, or is frame decompression done on the fly?
I have a horizontal scrolling movieclip that scrolls when the mouse is left or right of a certain point of that movieclip. However, it only moves slightly then stops when the cursor goes over it, it doesnt actually scroll normally...
I am trying to activate a rollOver-function when the mouse rolls over a movieclip inside of a movieclip. On the main window (root), first you rollOver a button where a window shows up with more options (movieclips). From stage, my first movieclip is called "catapultas_read_more" which leads to amother movieclip called "pic1_mc". The label that is going to play when mouse over on pic1_mc is "rollOn".I tried this.gotoAndPlay("rollOn); directly inserted to the movieclip, but the movieclip inside pic1_mc never starts
I have movieclip which contains child movieclip. when child movie clip finish to play i want to run a function in a parent movieclip. so I made a custom event dispatcher in the first frame of the child movieclip:
My goal with this actionscript is to create a new movieclip for each top-level XML node and include in the movieclip two separate textfields, an image, extend the movieclips to two row if necessary, rotate each movieclip differently depending its parity and add a hover event based on the movieclips instance name. I have achieved each goal except for the hover bit. The reason I cant access the instance name outside of the for loop is because the instance name only lasts for duration of the loop. Here is my current code (at pastie address).
