ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash - Save A Movieclip With It's Properties?
Jan 27, 2011
I have a requirement to save a part of animation that comprise of many movieclips in a parent movieclip and make it available for another user to edit it. So, Its pretty sure that I cant save it as a bitmap data.
I have 2 movieclips. One is a fairy flying up the stage. The other movieclip is a magic dust, which is originally designed to generate magic dust with onMouseMove event, based on the mouse's x & y. I want to change the the magic dust movieclip so it will generate magic dust following the fairy's movement.[code]...
I do occasionally use this useful property of the flash.display.MovieClip class
for eg:
var mc:MovieClip = new MovieClip(); mc["myVariable"] = myAnotherMovieClip; mc["myVariable2"] = true; mc["myVariable3"] = new Array(0,0,1);
Well, I'd like to learn more about this 'feature' of movieclip. As I got to know this from a colleague and do not really know as to what this is called in AS3.
In Flash Professional, I have a MovieClip and that clip has children. Let's say the parent clip is a night sky and the children are different instances of a star MovieClip that animates in a loop. This whole thing compiles down to a NightSky.swc which I use in Flash Builder as part of a larger project.
In Flash Pro, I position the child clips with a high level of precision. From there, I want to assign properties to these "stars." Say, I want to assign "galaxyId" and "isRedGiant" but (and this is key) I want to edit those properties in Flash Professional and have those value accessible in Flex.[code]...
I have 35 movieclips, named s1, s2, s3 etc, depending on the value of currentDisplay, I would like to set a movieclip visible property to true while the others are set to false, I have tried the following:
Code: for (i=1; i<36; i++){ trace(i);[code]....
but I receive an error message: 1083: Syntax error: dot is unexpected. I assume it is referring to the dot before visible.
I need a very simple(*) image editor made in Flash so the users of my web page can edit pictures and then save them to my server. I'm beginning this project trying to save to a jpg or png the content of a movie clip, but I didn't find any information on Google. Can you give suggestions of how to begin? And if you know some opensource projects like this one, please share it here.
(*) very simple means, resize, crop, add text and overlap other images.
This is my first question here :D, first sorry about my english. My question is basically how can i save a flash Movie Clip to FLV. The Movie Clip is generated by users and it has various sounds and animations and i need to save an FLV to send it to Youtbue. What have I tried: I found some question here about using an Alchemy Lib that I am using to grab the Movie Clip frame to frame and save it to Bitmap. The Alchemy Lib converts those frames to FLV like a charm and supports saving chunks of sound using ByteArray.
In this situation my Problem is, how can i grab the sound of Movie Clip to send it to Alchemy Lib? Iīve tried using:SoundMixer.computeSpectrum(sndData, false, 2); Witch returns me a byteArray in sndData variable but is useless since itīs used for render Audio Wave forms on screen. Thougth aboud using Sound.extract(); but i believe the sound class is used only for one MP3 sound and I need to grab the mixed sounds generated by Movie Clip.
I will be choosing which mask to use based on users selection of puzzle piece.When I try to use traingular mask by adding puzzle.gotoAndStop(2) the swf just flickers. Thought the holder_mc and mask_mc are exactly of same dimension one comes below lower than other though I have not altered the position of the clips within a puzzle piece.If you want to take a look at my fla here it is https:[url]....How to go to a specific frame 2. Why is position of two clips inside the piece changing
I have MovieClips on my Flash Stage that when clicked on--they toggle ON/OFF. My goal is that when a user clicks either ON/OFF--then leaves the flash website--another user can visit the site--and see that state of that MovieClip was either left ON/OFF.
I would need a way that when a user toggles ON/OFF--that state is saved in a variable--passed onto PHP--saved in an XML file--and then when that is done--Flash calls a function to update--to read the XML file--see if it needs to update the ON/OFF state of the MovieClip toggle button.
Multiple people would be able to go to this flash site--and toggle (ON/OFF) the objects on the stage. When more than one person is toggling--those people should instantly see objects being toggled (ON/OFF).
For my project I need to copy the graphics of a Movieclip with all of its children without copying anything else into a second Movieclip. I cannot use the Bitmap classes because I need the graphics to be displayed as a vector and I cannot use a method that simply copies the clip by calling the instructor ie:
var copy:MovieClip = clip.constructor. Is there any way to copy only the display portions of a clip into another Movieclip without turning it into a bitmap?
I have an animated MovieClip and I want to save it to computer as animated swf !is there any way to convert it to byteArray and send it to FileReferenc and save it ?I tried writeObject but it doesn't work !
How do we save file locally in Flash (ActionScript 3) without displaying dialog. I know we can use the following code to save file locally but it prompts Save dialog. I don't want this dialog while saving file locally.
FileReference is great, but what about downloading an image rather than uploading? Is there a way to do this in Flash 8? Say, being able to save a certain movieclip as a JPG? Or rather BMdata of that movieclip as a JPG?
I have a movie clip with a graphic. I want to copy the clip and change its colour. How do I create a copy of the movie clip change its properties without the other movieclip's properties changing as well. I have it now. I was copying the instance not the graphics themselves.
I have a bunch of MovieClips in my library with exported names.I am attaching select ones to the stage.I need to modify its position based on properties I want the MovieClips to have.
For example: var ImageSymbol= "MovieClip34"; this.attachMovie(ImageSymbol, "Image0", this.getNextHighestDepth()); Image0._x = 500 + Image0.XOffset;
I would like XOffset to be in a place where I can change it per MovieClip. That is, like the first frame in each MovieClip in the Library.So in the first from of MovieClip34 I would have:
var XOffset = -65;
This did not work.I also tried making a class (ImagePositioner.as file) with the following in it:
public var XOffset:Number;
and setting ImagePositioner as the class of all the MovieClips I would be attaching in the library,and on the first frame of each movieclip in the library put:
I'm currently reading in data from an XML file. Each attribute of a child is assigned as a property of a movieclip as shown in the code attached. However, what i'd like to do is not have the property names already decided as i don't necessarily know how many attributes a child in the xml file will have. Is it possible to dynamically name the properties depending on what number attribute they are...?
In my controls I have keydown events that control my hero. As of right now, I am trying to rotate my hero but he refuses to turn . Below is my Hero Class, my control class, and gameobject class. pretty much all the classes associate with the controls class.
i have 10 movieclips mc1_mc-mc5_mc and coin1_mc-coin5_mc on stage i aded listeners in for lop tat is working.when i click mc1_mc i want to make coin2_mc-coin5_mc invisible and coin1_mc and if i press mc2_mc then coin2_mc should wil b visible others invisible.i used folowing code but when i click any movieclip every objects in stage is becoming invisible.
Code: for (var i=1; i<6; i++) { ["mc"+i+"_mc"]addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,clicked); }
I'm wiriting some code to read certain properties of a keyframed movieclip animation. The idea is that an animater will create an animation, the code will record the animation as it plays, then the numberd that have been saved can be used later. x, y, rotation, xScale and yScale all did swimmingly well. skewX and skewY come out as undefined, on every frame. They're both used in the movie (typically around 4 - 8 degrees). They're never the same as each other.
is there a way to override a MovieClip's parent and stage properties? In a custom class extending the MovieClip class we can override the get parent() and get stage() methods. But is there a way to do it to existing MovieClip?
I mean I have an external swf content (loaded) and assigned to a movieClip. But now, how can I assign the loaded MovieClip to my custom class, so that it "doesn't see" the parent and stage properties?
Or can I override functions of existing classes? Sth like:
override public function myMovieClip["get parent"]():DisplayObjectContainer { ... }
I just need to prevent a loaded MovieClip from having access to the main movie's stage.
My movieclip clipArt_mc receives movieclips that are loaded dynamically from a listbox selection using:
[Code]....
I would like to access the nested or loaded in movieclip inside of clipArt_mc that has in it a movieclip named color_mc so that I can apply color directly to it instead of clipArt_mc.
I have saved out an object using JSON.encode to a text file, is it possible to then create a new MovieClip and populate it with all of the properties from the saved file? If so how would it be done, or is there a better way
