ActionScript 3.0 :: Click&drag On The L - No Object The Transparent Area Of The L Receives Mouse Events?

Aug 25, 2009

I have objects that the user can click&drag. They're PNGs, mainly rectangular, no problem till here.But I then had to put an L-shaped object (a PNG with a lot of transparency), so i've made a movieclip with an shape with the same L shape than the png, and use it as its hitArea:

shape.visible= false;
shape.mouseEnabled= false;
obj.addChild(shape);
obj.hitArea= shape;

This works PERFECT, the mouse events respond as expected, and I can click on objects that are below/above the transparent area of the png/object.All objects are inside a Sprite called playgroundLayer1. The issue comes when I take the L-shaped object and put it on another Sprite (playgroundLayer2), that is above the playgroundLayer1.I this case, I can click&drag on the L, but no object below the transparent area of the L receives mouse events.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Avoid Mouse In Flash CS4?

Mar 9, 2010

I have a movieclip, a square, which I would like to have moving around on stage, avoiding the mouse if you "chase" the movieclip. all the threads I have found have been with Actionscript 1.0 or 2.0. I tried converting it to AS3, but failed.

stage.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, avoidTouch);
function avoidTouch(event:Event):void {
var distx: int = noTouch_mc.x - mouseX;

[code]....

Im stuck. I want to make it calculate the distance from the mouse to the NoTouch_mc and if it gets below a certain number, make the noTouch_mc move away from the mouse.If it could be made so it never leaves stage, that I'd like to incorporate too, but wouldn't I have to consider sinus and cosinus to an angle to make it turn?

ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Avoid Mouse HitTest

Nov 24, 2003

I am creating a menu with nested MCs, of course, and the parent MC is using a RollOver action. The problem with that is: all other nested MC's RollOver action are not detected. I know you can use a mouse hitTest as a work-around i.e.:
Code:
onEnterFrame = function(){
if(this.hitTest(_xmouse,_ymouse,true)){
//do whatever
}}
But I'd like to avoid using that if possible.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Drag And Drop With Collision Detection?

Oct 5, 2005

Here is a screenshot of the draggable movieclips: draggable movieclips 1. The movieClips, "Pen", "Paper" and "Coffee" must be draggable. ("desk" is a movie clip on the bottom layer that is not not draggable)2. "Pen" and "Coffee" may be able to be released on top of "paper". However, "Paper" and "Pen" may not be released on top of "Coffee" for visual reasons. (realistically, The paper couldn't sit on top of the coffee cup without bending, so I'd rather it not be possible at all)Small note: All 3 raggable items should be capable of being released anywhere on top of the "desk".3. Lastly, all 3 Items cannot be released from dragging with a portion of their shape sticking out of view of the stage as will be shown below.Here are correct and incorrect examples of how the movie clips should and shouldn't be released from dragging.Correct Example of StopDragClick this link to view jpg example Incorrect Example of StopDragClick this link to view jpg example Ideally, when one movie clip is being dragged towards the outside boundry, I'd like it to be released from being dragged once the tip of the movieclip reaches the boundry, so that it does not appear to be half sticking outside of the flash movie.

ActionScript 2.0 :: 3D Movement In Flash - Avoid Making The Object Flip?

Jun 23, 2008

3D movement in Flash. Basically what i want is to have 2 or > objecton the stage placed on different z axis and when u click on one object it brings the camera forward to the specific coordinates. Then you can also click on another object and it will bring to the new object that you just clicked on.I can do half of it, but actually when one object's z coordinate reaches 0, it flip around and then go at the back.what i want to achieve but how can avoid making the object flip or just tell him to stay where it is so i can always go back to initial position of the camera and then click again on it.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Mouse Follow With Collision Detection

Feb 27, 2006

I have a boat which will follow my mouse, which I have got working via the tutorial situated at: [URL]

That's easy enough.

My problem is not making the boat stop if it collides with another movie. You can view what I currently have here:

[URL]

If you look at this movie you will see the boat following your mouse, and I've inserted a basic island on to the stage. What I want to happen is that if the boat touches the island, it stops. so for example if you were moving your mouse right to left across the island, the boat would stop on the right hand side of the island, but if you moved your mouse back to the right, it would move away from the island and follow your mouse.

I'm not too bothered about it detecting certain areas of the boat, the center point is fine.

ActionScript 3.0 :: When Mouse Down On The Menu And Then Drag The Mouse Off Of The Menu AND Off Of The Stage, I.e The SWF (whilst In Mouse Down) And Then Mouse Up Completely Off Of The Stage?

Jun 24, 2010

I have designed a menu that When you mouse over it, a custom cursor appears. When you mouse down it disappears and when you mouse up it returns. If you happen to mouse down and then drag the mouse off of the menu (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up outside the menu, the custom cursor disappears. All good. The only issue is: If you happen to mouse down on the menu and then drag the mouse off of the menu AND off of the stage, i.e the SWF (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up completely off of the stage, the custom cursor appears at the point it left the menu. I have tried to fix this using MOUSE_LEAVE but this dosnt work when the mouse button is pressed down. I have attached an FLA, SWF and the AS below.

The collision should take place not because I dragged the slider onto the animated block, but because the falling piece hits the slider after I pressed the start button.
