im looking for a way to add an PropertyChangeEvent to an object that I have defined. The goal is to raise a change event when any of the property of the object is been changed.
so i can do something like the following
var newItem:MyObject = new MyObject(); newItem.addEventListener(event.PropertyChangeEvent, myO_PropertyChangeHandler);
I have an array of objects. Each object has a color attribute which could be "red", "blue", "yellow", "green", "orange" or "purple". There are 20-30 objects in the array so colors repeat. My goal is to sort the array so that no colors are next to each other. Distribution of colors is not exactly even but close.
This is what I have so far. It checks the next and previous object for a color match and if it finds a match it moves it to the end of the array.
private function sortColors():void { var getNext:uint; var getPrev:uint;
[Code].....
This works OK but if there is more of a certain color they end up repeating at the end. I could add something to the end to throw those back into the mix but I feel like there must be a better way.
I have function init, which runs on the creationComplete of the application. The init calls get_login_share_object funtion, in which objects are created, which are null.
Now my problem is that, I get a null object reference error on the Alert in "init()". How can I avoid that. Is it possible that I can have a check to see, if the objects are null the program should just skip reading the objects.
private function init():void { var stored_credentials:Object = get_login_share_object();
I am dynamically creating a number of objects (movieclips) which all have a number of attributes.[code]and so on. i.e sub attributes. I don't think this is possible? Only sprite and movieclips can have dynamic attributes so unless atrbY is a movieclip (which it isn't, it's a string) it isn't allowed?Each object can have suboptions with further attributes associated with the chosen suboption.Later in the program I will manipulate, read and interact with the objects and they have text display behaviours dependent on the suboption chosen. That part (should) be straightforward! heh. One the object has the attributes attached in a usable format, accessing them should be simple.This will be for a store. i.e t-shirt1 has size small, price 10, size medium, price 12, size large, price 14. t-shirt2 has size medium, price 35, size large, price 40 and so on.[code]
This format of the XML can be adjusted if it would make the parsing easier.I am currently reading the XML in, stepping through, grabbing the individual parameter such as category and then adding it as an attribute of the object and it works fine. i.e. I end up with obj.category = 'catname'. However, on suboptions I am having a problem.Should I put all the suboptions in a multidimensional array and use nested loops to apply them to the object?I would still have the problem of objX.suboptionarray[Y].suboptionprice which isn't allowed? In the above XML case Y would be 0,1 and 2 giving 3 suboptions to objX and each suboptions would hold attributes such as pvid associated with that suboption.I could go down the horrible route, obj1.suboption1subptionprice ; obj1.suboption1suboptionpname; obj1.suboption1suboptionvalue; obj1.suboption2suboptionprice; obj1.suboption2suboptionpname and so on and so on for each suboption which could be five options (small,medium,large,x-large, xx-large) and which would "work" but would be bad programming and involve splicing names to get say, the "third" suboptions' price and pvid e.t.c
Going down the route of mutidimensional arrays sounds good except that on say 50 objects I would have stacks of arrays which I'm guessing isn't great in terms of resources?.Just to add, the number of suboptions varies between object, every object has a minimum of one suboption (default option) but can have as many as needed (unlikely to be more than 5 but should be scalable). i.e some t-shirts only come in medium whereas some have many sizes.I have a fair amount of leeway on the format of the XML which I generate from the database so the formatting of that could change to make the parsing easier.
I have 2 classes, Display holds the currently selected Component:
public class Display { public static var selectedComponent:Component; }
Component has an ID string and the selectedComponent variable is set on click:
public class Component extends MovieClip { public var id:String; addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, function() {
[Code]...
Removing the selectedComponent variable type so it reads public static var selectedComponent; removes the conversion error and seems to change the ID variable but it appears to only be a copy of the object.
Macromedia says "...Avoid attaching code in a object...". The question is: how to integrate this code to the code of the main timeline? This is the code inside a the MovieClip named "dot":
Code: removeMe = function () { clearInterval(countDown);
Would anyone happen to know how to change attributes like .z, .rotationZ, rotationY etc on a created MovieClip/Sprite or whatever. Because when I create a new mc or sprite and try to change these attributes the object just disappeares.
I need to make a dragable button but I need this object to stay clear from other objects on the stage so to act like pushing away other objects on the stage.
I've created and XML object that's working fine and I want the user to be able to add to the XML dynamically, using an input text field and appendChild() So, what is the syntax to use so that I can put in the text they enter as an attribute of a node of my current XML object? Here's what I've got for adding to the XML (stripped down obviously):
ActionScript Code: var xmlData:XML = new XML(); var clientToAdd:String = userInput.text; xmlData.appendChild(<project name=clientToAdd></project>);
How can I take the variable clientToAdd and make it the attribute "name" of the "project" node?
I have different textarea in a application and these have different Ids, once user move cursor inside in the specific textarea, delete button activate and it execute a function to remove this item, the Id of the textarea assigned as string variable, In this case how could i delete the component from Canvas
I am tring to create a simple mine game..so I created a couple movie clips one of which is to be assigned a value of "0" and the other is to be assigned a value of "1" randomly. That is if the one on the left has "0" the other should have "1" and that if I click the one having "0" value ,let it explode or do something..The problem is that I am not sure how to use "onClipEvent(enterFrame)" and on(press).. I named my MCs as "mcleft1" and "mcright
3D movement in Flash. Basically what i want is to have 2 or > objecton the stage placed on different z axis and when u click on one object it brings the camera forward to the specific coordinates. Then you can also click on another object and it will bring to the new object that you just clicked on.I can do half of it, but actually when one object's z coordinate reaches 0, it flip around and then go at the back.what i want to achieve but how can avoid making the object flip or just tell him to stay where it is so i can always go back to initial position of the camera and then click again on it.
I'm using jQuery Autocomplete just as in this example: [URL] The problem is, the area where you see the Result box in that example - that's where my flash object is. So, when the autocomplete dropdown appears, most of the text is concealed by the flash object (which I can't move). How can I make the autocomplete text appear over the flash object (concealing its view rather than vice versa)?
i have a Flex tree control and im trying to select a tree node 3 levels down right after the dataProvider is assigned with a collection object like the following.basically treeItem1, treeItem2, treeItem3 are the nodes in the tree and treeitem3 is a child of treeItem2 which is a child of treeItem1. Assume these treeItem(1,2,3) are referenced correctly from the collection items.
my problem is that if i wait for the whole component to load completely then select the nodes, it open/select/scrolltoIndex correctly. However, if i were to select the node right after the dataProvider is assigned, then it doesn't even open or select (basically the this.treeService.selectedItem is always null).
It seems it isn't possible at runtime to change styling defined in CSS files, ex.: colors. This is seemingly because the CSS files are compiled into SWF. Is it possible to externalize styling information in CSS (or any other format) without compiling it to SWF file so that it can be changed easily at runtime just as normal CSS can be changed when it is used in HTML.
In AIR on Mac, when I send login creds to a service and they're incorrect, AIR displays a native popup window to try logging in again without dispatching an error event. Twitter provides a header (suppress_response_codes=true), which returns any error as a status 200 with the error message. I'm using HTTPService to connect to a service without a header like this. Are there any properties or headers I can send to avoid this popup?
I'm having this problem of adding an image to the textArea in RichTextEditor (RTE) on the fly and this image seems to "reset" the html properties of the textArea. Better explained:
The user starts writing something in the TextArea (with Verdana in size:12 font settings). When he adds an image to the text area, the cursor right after the image gets very small and the font settings are reset to HUM777B in size:2.
How could I avoid this behavior?
It seems Flex adds additional HTML code before the image tag. If there was any way to avoid this I would be able to add my own settings to the tags.
I have a custom viewstack that applies automatically a slide in/slide out effect when the view changes. Everything goes smoothly when the views are lightweight but becomes jumpy when the next view requires heavy rendering. Here are the relevant parts of the code :
if container like VBox have autoScrollPolicy for both scrolls. if VerticalScrollBar is added, why the horizontalScrollBar automatically added.. is there any option to avoid the horizontalScrollBar addition to container.. without using horizontalScrollPolicy="off"
I have an item renderer for a list containing an image, label and a checkbox.These are visible depending on the dataProvider property of the list.E.g if an image is a premium image then display the premium label, if an image is a favourite then display a star etc.The problem is i have a massive if statement, and this doesn't seem good practice.
I have an air app and I want to add proxy-authorization header whenever my client is behind a proxy. I am adding 'proxy-Authoriztion' header in urlRequest headers but still I am getting the OS prompt for username/password.
var loader:HTMLLoader = new HTMLLoader(); var be:Base64Encoder = new Base64Encoder(); be.insertNewLines = false; be.encode("test" + ":" + "test");
