[URL] how to make it work. when the flash loads only 4 buttons will be seen. on mouse over each button specific rectangle should be displayed. if i can get one code snippet will be easy for me to work on others I am using Flash 8
I have a very simple piece of code but it has one very annoying bug. When I press the button a second time, the code doesn't work. The only way to get the code to work is by moving the mouse a tiny bit, or moving the mouse off the button and back on. make a button that can be clicked many times without moving the mouse?
I changed the mouse cursor using a tutoral from this forum, but when I press the right mouse button,the standard mouse cursor reapears.How to prevent that?
I would like to make a flash movie with a picture, where when the user holds down the mouse button, part of another picture will emerge in that general area (like a magnifying glass looking into another dimension).
Technically, my idea was to make a flash file with two images, and then code the mouse to be able to make the top picture transparent in a circle-like area around the cursor, while the mouse button is down.
But how to do that? I am using Flash CS4, but I don't really care if the solution is in AS2, or AS3, as long as it works
I need to perform an event when the mouse moves AND when the mouse button is down, how can I do that? What will happen is that when I click and drag the mouse, the width of an object will change. Here is what I have so far:
This is quite a complicated problem to explain.Basically I had some buttons with a on mouse out, and on mouse over effects.I wanted each button to load a different scene of the movie.For some reason the on mouse over and mouse out button effects work until I link them to load a scene in the movie.The only button I have linked to load a movie is the Drinks button. It loads the drinks scene, no problem, however the mouse over effects don't seem to work anymore.I have included the .fla file so if someone could maybe have a quick look at it, it is probably just a small bit of coding I have done wrong!
1) add a SimpleButton to the stage and view the SWF2) then press and hold the mouse button down OUTSIDE of the button's boundaries3) then drag the cursor over the SimpleButton while still holding down the mouse button......Then the SimpleButton on the stage does not detect the mouseover and display its 'over' state. It just stays in its idle state. Why is this? And is there a way to enable the SimpleButton to display its over state while the mouse button is being held down and then the cursor brought on top of the button (as described above)?That's the abstract, and if you are at all curious (this won't elaborate on the question, but maybe help you visualize a practical scenario) what's motivating the question, it is an application I'm building. In this app, the user is able to drag video thumbnails in order to rearrange their order.
I want to have pop-ups activated on mouse over of a button in my all-Flash website. By pop-up, I mean in the same browser window. Just a small window that comes up with a small amount of content related to the respective button. How do I do this?
I have a menu with a couple of buttons that 'sway' when the mouse rolls over them. When the mouse rolls out of them, currently the animations just stop dead, where I would prefer them to finish the animation cycle and then stop.I have attached an example of what I have managed to achieve so far.I'd even be happy for the buttons to just continuously sway, but even then the animation cycle 'starts again' on mousedown.
I have this website I am developing. It has multiple pages that I would like to connect to each through a flash horizontal menu navigation. Here is a link to the site for your consideration. WebsiteI am trying to make it so that a mouse click is dispatched on the appropriate flash button when the page starts up so that the highlight menu tab will appear over the correct button.Here is the actionscript for the flash:
Code: import caurina.transitions.*; var button:MButton;
I have a MC(image) in the center of my screen, and have two buttons, one on right and one on left side of that MC. I want to scroll (image is like a menu) that MC left or right on mouse events, down or over. So, I just want to change MCs X value while holding mouse button on buttons or just hovering over them. I have managed to do that, but it's only moving by one value I have entered after a mouse event. Here's a piece of code I did.
buttonL1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, buttonL1Pressed); function buttonL1Pressed(event:MouseEvent):void{ var temp:int = 0; var temp1:int = 0;
I have a few swf's that are loaded into a base file using levels. These clips can be cycled through by means of a setInterval function or when the user clicks the next or previous button. However, when the user hovers over a defined 'hit' area which is ultimately a blank movie clip, the setTimeout call is then canceled. This works fine, except that now the 'hit' clip - being above everything - prevents the movies below accepting hit states, and if I move it to below everything else, when one mouses over any element in the loaded movie, it then acts as though the user has mouse out of the hit area.
Is there any way to have this 'hit' clip do its job simply by determining if the mouse is over it, but without using an onRollOver function or equivalent?
I'm trying to learn a simple way to code a button's color to change when you click on the button itself. I got the button's alpha to work by doing the following: Create a text field with the word "Preflight" and convert it to a button. Drag the button onto the stage and give it an instance name of "Preflight1". On the first frame of the timeline, insert the following code:
Now when you test the movie, anytime you click the button "Preflight" the button's alpha drops (dims) by 10%. Works perfect and easy. Now, how can I do this exact same thing with the button's color? When you click the button, its color changes to some new color? I've tried colorTransform, but no luck.
I have a banner with big invisible button covering the stage and underneath it I have movieclips which must respond to mouse events. But I can't get through invisible button. I only get button events and cant interact with movieclips underneath it. Here's simple code:
invisibleBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onTopClick); bottomMc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, onBottomOver); function onTopClick(e:MouseEvent):void{
I am quite new to actionscript 3.0 but i'm sure this should be so simple. The objective is to get the camera view to move when the mouse button is down. Here I have managed to get the camera view to move forward using the UP arrow key:
So I had an interesting request from a client the other day. Basically, he wanted the button (which looks like a sticker) to peel off as the mouse approaches the button. So from the outside of the hover point, it would peel a little. As the mouse gets closer, the peel animation would peel more (or less, depending on the mouse position) until it is 'peeld' off the page and sort of hovering above the background when the mouse is finally over the button.
Does anyone know of some custom classes that might achieve this? It seems like it would be making use of the new 3D in flash10, but I haven't had much time to experiment with 3D in flash.
I have a flash object which dimension and position are as same as the HTML button. The button is under the flash object. I want when the flash is clicked and hovered, the button has the styles as if it is clicked and hovered at the same time. I am trying to call: ExternalInterface.call("mouseEventHandle", elementId, eventName); in flash to pass event to JS. And in JS(coffeescript): window.mouseEventHandle = (elementId, eventName) -> id = '#' + elementId switch event when "down" then console.log("down") when "up" then console.log("up") when "enter" then console.log("enter") else console.log("leave") # leave the function is responsible for styling the HTML button. The question is how to style the button under in JS? Or is there other way to achieve the goal?
I created flash buttons for a website and imported them into dreamweaver, put the site up and everythings working finee, EXCEPT, the mouse down feature of my button doesn't play all the way unless you hole down the mouse button. My mouse over feature works fine.
is there anyway when i use scroll bar component in flash... how do i make it so that i can be controlled by your mouse scroll button.. thing.... ( if its possible )
Let's say I have 3 buttons (movieclips) and, using AS2, I want that when mouse is over a button, that button changes its state, something like
[Code]...
so that the same thing happens for each button when the mouse is rolled over it, by simply calling for each button a function inside which I refer to the button by using "this". And the problem is I cannot (don't know) how to do this in AS3. I mean if I use "this" inside a function, this refers to the main timeline. So is there a possibility to write a function like
I have a flash that has a background symbol that responds to CLICK event. On top of that symbol I have a sprite that contains a Bitmap with transparent pixels. Both of them are added to the stage, so they are not related directly.
I want clicks on the transparent pixels on the sprite to go straight through to the background. I have read about mouseEnabled / mouseChildren but have not been able to make these work. The symbol ignores the mouse events when I use them, but does not pass it along as if its transparent.
Is this possible to do with flash? Or will I have to re-route mouse events?
As of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.
Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.
is it possible to change a state of button to "over" when the mouse is actually not over the button.Basically what i am trying to do is that when a user rollsover a textfield i want to change the state of the button on stage to "over". Is it possible?
I have a class called Mouse (tracking button states in a game). I want that class to be able to show and hide the mouse cursor. Whenever I try to use flash.ui.Mouse.show() or flash.ui.Mouse.hide() I get the error: "Access of undefined property flash.".
I can't import flash.ui.Mouse for obvious reasons.
Is there a way to make this work? What's the point of packages if they don't resolve these collisions?
I have a flash app loaded in an iframe. User mouses down in flash and goes outside of stage. When user goes outside of stage, is there a way to release the mouse capture from flash so that parent receives further mouse events and not the flash app?
In Firefox and Chrome, parent doesn't receive events until the user mouses up
In IE, parent receives event when the user goes outside of stage.
My MC button is now working as expected with one problem... when I click the mouse button when over a MC button then roll the mouse off the button and release the mouse button, the button stays 'hilighted' (in frame 3 of the button MC) until you roll the mouse over it again.I'd like it to stay highlighted only as long as the cursor is over the button and the mouse button is held down...when you roll the mouse cursor off the button it should release it and send it back to frame one of the button MC. Does that make sense?Here is the code:
When the user mouses over a button, it brings up a menu. I want the user to be able to click things in that menu that pops up, but of course when the user moves the cursor off the button and onto the menu, it deactivates the button and the menu disappears. Is there a way around this?
