ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash CS4 Bone Tool Animation Complex Shapes?
Mar 1, 2011
Does anyone know the limit or extents of the limitations of the error message "The shape is to complex. Please optimize or convert to a movie clip" while using the bone tool on a single object which has been broken apart for the use of organic animation?
The bone tool in CS4 has great potential for organic looking animation. The only problem is it seems to be totally random as to whether or not it will accept me using the bone tool on my drawings. Sometimes it will work for images having up to 5 or 600 points other times less than 300. Also, I'm not talking about using the bone tool to link and animate individual movie clip symbols. So does anyone really understand the rules here, or perhaps know of a code or program setting I can use to change the complexity allowed with the bone rigging? My only current solution is using illustrator's more advanced optimizing features to lose less of my organic looking strokes but still this is not good enough.
I'm having trouble with the Flash CS5 Bone Tool, Everytime I create 2 sets of objects whether its legs or arms, when I duplicate them. break them apart and make a second set of arms and legs, the two characters I assign them to, swap around when I saved them. So one has arms instead of legs and legs instead of arms, but the other character is completely unaffected. I move the bones within the symbols and they return to normal but then it affects the other character and vice versa.
I am creating a ragdoll game without gravity and with constraints, I want to use the bone tool in flash as3.Is it possible to embedded in a bone tool in Actionscript 3?
I've made a character, and used the bone tool to make it move in runtime. This works fine, but now I want to add gravity/physics, so I can throw my character and it lands on the ground like a real ragdoll. How do I do this in actionscript 3 ? And is it possible to do this within the fla (no class file).
im making a bone animating system in flash but then i want to give it a more vital animation by manipulating its z y x position how is it possible using the 3d tool?im doing everything needed but when i get to that point nothing seems to work,i dont get 3d tool options.
I am trying to use the bone tool on a jpeg image I edited in photoshop. When I import it I have to "break-apart" the image to use the bone tool on it and all seems fine. but when the pose is set, the image vanishes during the motion.
I watched a tutorial where they added bones to a "Symbol" but when I try it it doesn't work. What I did was I imported a bitmap image and converted it to a "Symbol" but it wouldn't take the bone tool. How do I do this?
So I'm working with a character file I created in Illustrator. I import to stage, then set the bone tool on a leg to get it to move. But when I start moving the bone tool, it only moves the color fill layer, and leaves the outline behind.
I'm teaching a bunch of kids to use flash at school using CS4. One of the kids is having problems with the image that he is moving with the bone tool. After about eighty frames the image disappears but the bones stay. How do we get the image to stay?
I'm creating a Flash animation using the bone tool to animate arms and legs. I created my characters in Illustrator and copy/paste the individual elements (such as the arms/legs/body etc) into Flash, then convert them to symbols. From there, I use Modify>Break Apart to get the symbol into its most primitive state and the use the bone tool to create joints. I did a small bit of animation, and now whenever I make any modifications (like adding more library items or more poses) whenever I save then re-open the file, the bones are still there, but the image is gone. So right now I have what is supposed to be a girl jumping up and down, but her arms and legs have disappeared so she just looks like a floating body. I've re-created this file multiple times, and this continues to happen, but at different points during the animation so I cannot pinpoint one certain thing that could be causing this.
I have a few linked armatures on stage and was needing to be able to move them around with AS3. Is there a way I can state the angle that I want an armature at, and the rest of the armatures below it will follow, but the ones above it will remain in place?
In Flash, when you rotate a movieclip in the IDE, thenrelease, the movieclip will often (80% of the time) lose .1-.2% ofits scale. You can see the numbers changing in the transformwindow. It will continue to decrease the more you rotate/release,gradually shrinking. For an IK armature (using the bone tool), which is prettymuch all about rotations, this is a major issue. A simple animationof a human character waving can bring their forearm scale down from100% to 92% by the end. Aside from being visually noticeable (my arm is shrinking!)the Armature itself seems to react badly, losing joint connections, randomly displacing movieclips, and generally being unpredictable.I can't tell to what extent the Armature bugginess is directlycaused by the gradual scale-creep -- but it's certainly not.The Armature in the Bone Tool is uneditable- editing theposition of a bone relative to another bone causes the othermovieclips in the skeleton to start inching in random directions.
I normally draw all my cartoons in Illustrator (cs5 at the moment), but for a school project I have to animate these cartoons.I believe that I have done this before in Flash CS5 with the bone tool, but this time it doesn't work.I have read numerous of pages that try out the bone tool, but nothing works for me.making the body a movieclip and just import the other filesmaking every part a movieclip (head, arms, legs, tail, etc.)making every part a png or jpeg filegrouping and ungrouping of the vectorIt seems the only option left for me is to draw my cartoon in Flash. Which I'm not too fond of, because Flash ofcourse isn't a drawing programme like Illustrator.
I want to have shape tween animation with bone tool on bitmap image. Because shape tween animation supports only Shape data type, I converted the bitmap to that type (Bitmap -> Trace Bitmap). Problem is that trace command splits bitmap image into multiple shape fragments, so I can't use shape tween anymore.I tried to combine and group shape fragments, but it doesn't fix it.
I'm using Flash CS5 proefessional and trying to do a demonstration. The demonstrationincludes a rope-like lanyard that is quite long and needs to bend at many many points. After successfully applying the bone tool to the object, I tried moving it with Free Transform. However, when I do so, the lanyard suddenly disappears, besides a couple tiny pieces. I didn't delete the previous layer, and I had unioned everything before breaking it apart again to apply the Bone tool.
Okay, now things are getting a little complicated. I need to build a Flash object that can sit over the corner of an image to serve extra content. It's way beyond my Flash skill level, my work is usually limited to print work in Photoshop and Illustrator so please excuse me if any of the following isn't clear. I am trying to learn though, So this is how it's all supposed to work, along with my issues; When the image & Flash item load a small looping animation will play to draw the eye/show the item as interactive.
When the user rolls over this the corner will peelback. I have a working peelback animation for the rollover, that reacts to mouse over/mouse off, and a looping animation for the initial, but I cannot work out how to make the initial loop until mouseover, then play the peelback when the mouse is over. And go back to the initial animation loop if the user rolls off. (Each of these animations is stored as a movie clip in the Library) Then it gets more complicated... if the user stays on the corner until it is fully peeled back I need to make a small countdown (sort of a 3, 2, 1 situation) show, before launching a lightbox (would this have to be jQuery, or could it be done in Flash?) in the browser to serve the content.
Does anyone know of a good tool for visually making shapes and then receiving the corresponding actionscript? To put it in context, I need to make a complex shape (a styled heart) with actionscript, but rather than going through the laborious process of trial and error with curveTo's and the like, I wanted to first see if there was already a tool out there.
I'm wanting to render this character as a flash animation (which i will create with swift 3d), could I make the walls of this corridor mask him so that only his head would only be seen as he walked through it, as below?I would later render the animation of walls as normal like so ..lkThrough.html (so that i would have a vector character walking through a bitmap corridor, you may ask why i want to do that, and that's because later on the character will be mainly animating on a still background and i'm trying to conserve download time for the Flash file).
I've this application, where two children are playing catch. One throws and the other catches. While I can show a ball object moving between two stationary objects, how do I show the objects "releasing" and "catching" the ball, in a way that is close to lifelike?[URL]...
I have a software project, which involves complex process and calculation. Rather than writing it's logic and business flow in a document, i want it to be explained in some sort of animation visually, which would be easier for some one new to my project.
after i done all the animations and i want to paste it another fla. the movie clip animation positions not in the stage anymore, after i click on the timeline of the movie clip, it set path the movie clip to -8000+ X and Y. even i want to set to any number, it pop out invalid position. i have to use mouse drag the number back to position that i want. it's totally drive me crazy... really unstable.. sometimes i open back my fla, the movie clip position run too and i need to use transform tool double click set back to 0.
I'm working on an IK based character animation, and I have a question about the different IK "types".I've started by creating a charater, created using symbols to represent the various body parts, which works great, and I've created a shape based armature as well to handle the mouth because the shape based animation works perfectly for animating it.Is there a way to "attach" the shape armature to the symbol armature to that the mouth will move with the head during animation? It is difficult to keep the mouth armature aligned with the face manually, and the bones don't "stick" when I drag them from the symbol armature to the shape armature.
Are there any libraries for animation groups of objects in as3? I need something like this: for example, I specify an array of images and creates the animation of all objects in the array - fireworks, the spiral vortex, 3D rotation, undulating, etc. Tweenlite and other libraries not fit, because there is no pattern complex motion.
I need to quickly apply complex animation paths to the set of objects.
I found myself wondering whether it would be wiser for a person to construct complex animations (using multiple eases, transparency effects etc) in flash using the tween systems, or rather to create it in software like After Effects and export SWFs with transparency. I would imagine that for short, but complex animations, AE would be best because of the small SWF size of fewer frames being rendered. Another wonder I have would be whether creating complex tweens on a Flash timeline, then converting them to AS3 would be a processing nightmare. Should Tweens be restricted to simple tasks? Would anybody like to take a speculative 'stab' at the pros and cons of each method?
What tool can i use to create an animation the will run in I.E., Firefox and iPad. I want to have a series of large buttons that i can scroll using arrows on the left and right side of the large buttons, with each button being a hot spot. I can't use Flash because it is not supported on the iPad.
