Feb 16, 2011I am creating a flash presentation for something that I'm doing at university on Friday, and the video is the only thing in the presentation that isn't working.The presentation I have some words, music and video and the words and music are playing fine (but the music and video are on the FLVPlayback thing so I think that's causing a problem, but I can't see how I can separate them) and the video comes into play.When I put the actionscript - stop() - at one bit of the presentation, nothing plays afterwards, and I'm wanting the whole thing to stop at the end of the music, and when a line of the presentation to come up (which is the last line) and then the video is just the one thing that is playing, along with this line which is stationary under the video.I've used Flash before, but not with sound or video as I had no call for it, but now I do its not working.

Jun 27, 2008I am doing a small presentation where a song (*.mp3) is gonna be played. I never worked with music in flash before. The music that is playing in the background is sounding horrible, lost its quality when I placed it in one of the frames. I am importing it by FILE> IMPORT> IMPORT TO LIBRARY. Is the process that I am using the one that is causing the lost of quality? And another thing, how can I know, by sure, how many frames I need in order to put the entire music?

Jul 3, 2003I have a presentation, that plays a sound loop, over and over throughout the movie. On the first frame of my Main movie timeline....I have this code:

Well, without, the volume control MC, the fade out works....perfect...depending where it is on the time line...when it reaches it , it fades. However, with the volume control, fadeout doesn't do anything.....

Sep 30, 2010I am working on a website and I have to make a flash banner under the header. In this flash banner, I have 9 different movie clips. Each clip is in fact a picture and a text animated going with it. But everytime someone go to another page in the website, the flash will restart and there's a good chance they may never see the last movieclips. But I think there's a way to call the movie clips in a random order. This way we wouldn't see always the same first mc. I don't mind working in AS2 or AS3 for this. If you give me an answer, please put as much details as possible since I am more a designer than a flash developer.

Jan 30, 2012I have two movieclips on the same frame but on different layers located within the movieclip. The first movieclip plays just fine. However, the second one isn't going ahead even a single frame. The code that I have mentioned below is located withing the second movieclip containing background image. And I think this code is causing the issue because when I remove this it plays perfectly fine. The function of this code is to automatically re-size background image with the browser dimensions. The whole code just worked fine on the main timeline.However, when I shifted it inside a movieclip its causing an issue.

Flash :: Silverlight - MVVM - Presentation Model In Flex Vs Presentation Model In Silverlight: Advantages And Disadvantages?

That is not to say that there aren't good third-party libraries that make it easier in Silverlight, but without any help, it is easier to do in Flex." So MVVM as LOGICAL CONCEPT can be implemented in both but the way it is implemented in Silverlight requires more Plumbing than Flex.
What prevents Silverlight MVVM to be implemented like Flex ? Doesn't Silverlight have same capability in event system to do the same? If yes why does Silverlight do things more complicated what's the advantages then ? Is it about using Class Interfaces which are more strongly typed? What are the disadvantages also ? For example as for implementing MULTIPLE VIEWS for 1 View-Model does Flex implementation make it also more obvious?

Actionscript 3.0 :: MovieClips In Array Not Playing?
Jan 6, 2010I'm trying to make a menu that has multiple movie clips as buttons and control them all with an array and one event listener. There will be many movieClip buttons on my page but for now I have two animated movieClips each with a stop(); action on fram one. The movieClips have 15 frames of animation. The main timeline of my movie has only 1 frame. Each movie clip is on it's own layer. If I create an event listener without the array I can get the buttons to work individually but when using the Array I can't get it to work.

Oct 26, 2009I'm trying to trigger some events (fading of nearby movieclips) based on cue points of a currently playing FLV. I'm using the FLVPlayback component (not Netstream) and have added cue points from inside flash (so they're "Actionscript" type). I actually found a nice article here: [URL] but it's AS2. To put it simply, let's say I have the following:
1) FLVPlayback component which has a parameter called "movie.flv" for the clip that it's supposed to play.
2) The instance of the component is called "movie_inst".
3) There are 2 cue points added through the component's parameters rollout, one called "point1", another called "point2".
What's the simplest code to tell flash "when you get to point1 I want you to do ___"?

Intro and outro of a movieclips using buttons.
Like for example: I have two buttons named buttonOne and buttonTwo. When I click buttonOne, the movie clip named oneMc should play its intro and then stop then after that whenever I click buttonTwo, the movieclip oneMc should play outro animation and then movieclip twoMc intro comes in.
Do I need to use the Loader and URLRequest for this one? Also, how can I call the movieclip to play its outro and play the next movieclip's intro?

Jun 18, 2010I've had to work on a god-awful Flash movie with lots of nested hand animated movieclips and sub-clips, all with their own timeline.Every time I'm asked to update it, I wince trying to test it and spot details for tweaking.Does anyone know of a way to stop playback of every movieclip? irrespective of how its nested and without addressing them all using dot notation.
There are loads of movieclips you see, and I want a pause control to freeze everything, I've tried this with onEnterFrame events on each movieclip looking at a _root variable called "playState", but some movie clips ignore this, and keep playing.Is there an easy way to do this other than pasting my code into everything? Is there a way of making code affect all movieclips simultaneously - halting their own timelines? Then resuming?
Flash :: Presentation.fla To Add Audio?
Nov 13, 2010I have a presentation .fla from a client which is published to an .exe projector file. this is my first tome working on a file published for this so I'm a bit confused. Within the fla folder is another fla which is titled player. That file calls background music thru an xml file which I can figure later but my problem is this.
if I add the mp3 voiceover to the xml list when the published file plays it of course starts at 001.00 the voiceover needs to be edited to fit within the presentation. How can I drop the swf of the riginal presentation inside an app then add the voiceover on another layer and be able to edit to match sort of what I would do in IMovie. I have the CS5 master Suite so I'm sure one of the apps does this/

Resolution For Flash Presentation On Flatscreen TV
Oct 20, 2009I'm going to be creating a Flash presentation that will run on a flatscreen TV at a trade show. I'm not certain what resolution to set up my Flash movie to. The TV is a widescreen Panasonic 42" TH42PH10BK with 1024 x 768 pixels, however when I set my animation to those values it looks 'squarer' than the TV. It looks like I need to set up the animation to a different resolution, but I don't know which!

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Presentation With Remote?
Feb 23, 2011I have been doing days worth of research and this is a topic I have yet to find much useful information on. I create business presentations for a wide range of clients with adobe flash. Up until now all user control has been done through the computer or via a timer so the user wasnt interacting at all. We have started receiving requests for presentations where the presenter can interact with the presentation via a presentation remote. Basically they want control over the presentation just like someone can with a remote in Powerpoint.
All my research on this topic up until now has been pretty much in vein. We have tried to program flash with keystrokes and such but ran into issues as apperently all remotes do not use keystrokes to control the presentation (namely some logitech remotes do not). So here is my question.
Does anyone have an idea on how we could set up a flash presentation to work with ANY remote our presenters may have? I am hoping this is something we can program/build one time and then just copy and paste the code to each presentation. Versus the alternative of contacting each client, asking what remote they will be using, and programming based on acquired information.
Open PDFs From Flash Presentation?
Mar 27, 2009I've been tasked with making a fairly simple Flash presentation that will be published to an exe and put onto a jump drive. I've done this before and at the time I just used the getURL command (IIRC) to open a PDF with a button click. I literally have 100's of PDFs to link to so I was wondering if there is a better way to do it (before I start using my old method) I'm using AS3 in Flash CS5. And I am NOT a big Flash user so maybe I just need to resort to the way i did it last time. Was just thinking there might be a more elegant way to approach this...that a novice could handle.
