ActionScript 3.0 :: PAPERVISION: Zooming Into A Clicked Point On A Model
Oct 9, 2010
I have a client who wants some things in Papervision that I'm not sure how to do, namely: when the user clicks somewhere on a model, zoom the camera into that point.
I would use a tween engine to tween the camera forward, but as moveForward is a method, I'm not sure how I'd enter this data into a tweening call.
I'm working on an Augmented Reality project that requires an animated 3d model to be displayed. I've managed to far to get all the AR marker detection and whatnot working, but I've come to a dead halt when trying to load an animated model. I'm working in 3Ds Max 2011 for all the modeling and animating. The model is exported as COLLADA (using 3dsMax's own Autodesk Collada exporter) and embedded into the Flex project. I can export a model, and it does load into papervision...The problem is that an animated model, although it exports fine and produces no compile-time erros, gives me a run-time error about a call to a null object. This error is being thrown by papervision's animation classes but it really doesn't give too much information, I see no animations...
This is the error I get: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at org.papervision3d.objects.parsers::DAE/buildAnimationChannels()[C:UsersUserDesktopStuffTechFlashClassesorgpapervision3dobjectsparsersDAE.as:568] at org.papervision3d.objects.parsers::DAE/onParseAnimationsComplete()[C:UsersUserDesktopStuffTechFlashClassesorgpapervision3dobjectsparsersDAE.as:1496] at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() .....
I need to convert a CAD drawing of a product into a form that is usable by Papervision3D (or an equivalent 3D engine) in the Flash Player.
Are there any tools that do this? I understand that the Collada DAE format is supported in Papervision3D, but I don't know what steps/tools are involved (export directly from AutoCAD?).
I have a DAE model that is parsed into several parts. I am able to deal with them separately, such as changing their material or colour but I am having problems adding click or hover listeners over the children. For example, lets say I have a model of a kitty where each facial feature is a child. I want to be able to hover or click the features and have a window pop up explaining the feature. I've tried parsing the model and adding listeners but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm trying to scale a container/parent movie clip up so that I effectively zoom in to a point referenced by one of its children. I've figured out how to use globalToLocal to get that point at the center of the stage, but the problem is the registration point for the container clip is (and needs to stay) at the upper left, so when I scale the container clip up, the point does not stay in the center of the screen. Here's my code:
I am trying to build a portfolio application similar to the used by Whitevoid. I am using Flex 4 and Papervision3D 2. I have everything working except for one issue. When I try to load an external SWF as a material on one of the planes, I can see any native Flex or Flash components in their correct positions, but the papervision objects are not being rendered properly. It looks like the viewport is not being set in the nested swf. I have posted my code for loading the swf below.
private function loadMovie(path:String=""):void { loader = new Loader(); request = new URLRequest(path);
[Code]....
Below I have posted two pictures. The first is a shot of the application running by itself. The second is the application as a MovieMaterial on a Plane. You can see how the button created as a spark object in the mxml stays in the correct position, but papervision sphere (which is rotating) is in the wrong location.
Basically I want to know if there is a way to go from a zoomed in version of something, and then seeing the whole image in another frame. (By pressing a button)
Let's say there's a tree, I would bascially like (upon pressing a button which I can do) to zoom out and see the whole scenery. Is there a way I can do this without actually changing the size of the image?
Given this grid (tinyurl.com/63dgoja --> This is a trapezium/trapezoid, not a square), how do you find the point clicked by the user? I.e. When the user clicks a point in the grid, it should return the coordinates like A1 or D5.
I've created a video player using the flv component. I have images of cue points. The user should be able to click on an image and the video should skip or start at that cue point
i'm trying to zoom in on a picture at the specific spot where the mouse is clicked. ie if the mouse is clicked in the lower left corner, the pic gets bigger from there, not the center of the pic. the only way i can think of to do this is to reset the registration point to the clicked position. is this possible? is there another way to go the job done?
im having a bit of an issue with making a character walk to a position when the area is clicked (but i dont want them to move on the y scale, just the x). i dont want them to instantly move, i want them to (flip over if necessary) and play their walking animation as they walk to the clicked position.
There is an Image control that when I click on it I need to zoom in (using the center/transform point where the mouse is clicked). I have the zoom transition working great, but when I set transformX & tranformY (with autoCenterTransform false) it doesn't zoom into that point.
Here is my code that only zooms in (not to a specific point) <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ protected function imgLogo_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { transformer.play(); } ]]> [Code] .....
I would like to create a component(extending from spark Panel), which upon a buttonclick should show up next to the button(something like a bubble popping up or like the small box opening up when hovering up on profile links in facebook/twitter). I tried to create a component that implements mx.core.IToolTip and provided the methods required by the interface. And on the toolTipCreate event, set this component as the tooltip.
This works to an extent. When I bring the mouse over the button, the panel appears as the tooltip and goes away when i move the mouse away. What I need is, the panel should appear next to the button when click on it and should go away only when I click outside the panel or click the close button present inside the panel.
I look at professional animations and notice the camera-like effects they manage to put into these animations. I'm wondering how I can do the same without having to just enlarge or reduce a movieclip across the stage. Is there any way to add a camera view on your animations or do you just have to bear with Flash's basic necessities?
Im having an odd problem--I have 5 input textfields on the stage, but for some reason when run in order to input text within the first two fields I have to click within those fields from around its middle all the way to the right.Otherwise, no caret shows up and no typing displays. The other fields all work fine--ie, I can click at their leftmost point and get a caret and start typing..I even used the same textfield(#3) to create fields 1 and 2 and still I have to click about midway or to the right to get the caret.
As it is said here: [URL] "If you do a Google search today for "MVVM and Flex", the first post is by somebody who claims that MVVM is not a good fit for Flex. I couldn't disagree more. Out of the box, the Flex framework makes it much easier to implement a Presentation Model than similar MVVM implementations in Silverlight. That is not to say that there aren't good third-party libraries that make it easier in Silverlight, but without any help, it is easier to do in Flex." So MVVM as LOGICAL CONCEPT can be implemented in both but the way it is implemented in Silverlight requires more Plumbing than Flex.
What prevents Silverlight MVVM to be implemented like Flex ? Doesn't Silverlight have same capability in event system to do the same? If yes why does Silverlight do things more complicated what's the advantages then ? Is it about using Class Interfaces which are more strongly typed? What are the disadvantages also ? For example as for implementing MULTIPLE VIEWS for 1 View-Model does Flex implementation make it also more obvious?
I have 4 navigation button and like home, about us etc.... And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. I want this solution in AS3 with oop concept.
I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?
I have parent movieclip and in that many different children movieclips
What i want to do is when i CLICK, i want to detect which movieclip it has clicked and call corresponding function (defined by onpress event) of that movieclip.
What does the code look like if I want the user to click two specific buttons then go to a new frame. I've been trying different methods, but I am honestly not brilliant with conditional statements. This is what I've got so far...
about_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickAbout); home_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickMain); if (function clickMain(event) && function clickAbout(event))
It's been a long time since I've done any work with actionscript, and alas I've forgotten nearly everything. I've tried to look for a tutorial that would explain basic animation with actionscript, but the one that I found on Kirupa was no longer there.
Basically I'd like to do this:On the stage I have a movieclip and I'd like the movieclip to move along the x-axis to a certain point and then back to the starting point again. The moving speed of the movieclip should also be adjustable.
I haven't been able to find a solution that fits my project. I am working on a 50 state map, where I need each state to stay down once clicked, but go up when any other state is clicked. [code]...
I'm creating a game in flash for a university project, and learning actionscript and programming as I go. I'm very much still at a beginner level - at the moment al I have is some actionscript for drawing rectangles and moving them about the screen. This is what I'm having trouble with at the moment: I have a class called 'Creature', and I want instances of it to interact with each other. I want them to do something when they come within a certain distance of another instance. And I want them to be able to pick a random other instance to get the location of, in order to do something with that information.
What I think I need is: A function for telling the distance between two (x,y) points. A way of referencing the nearest other instance of the class. And a way of randomly selecting from all of the instances of the class.
How to convert 3d point to 2d point? I've found next formula in Internet(camera is situated in origin)
[Code]....
But these formulae give me strange result when z are less than zero(z<0) I need build line from A(100,100,100) to B (100,100;-100) As you can see these equations give really strange result when I try to convert B point in 2D dimension
I have a point which is setted at the border on a component, with changed transform point to the center of a component in order to match the component rotation.
the important part is when i try to get the point XY after rotation - they remains the same as before rotation.
how to get XY, after rotation ( changeing point.rotation property to specific degrees of rotaion )
I am using AS2 with Flash 8 Professional So, my problem is that I currently have a man in the middle of the screen, who shoots a line towards the mouse when I click. However, when I use hitTest to see if the line collides with another object, Flash recognizes the line as a large box if it is diagonal, so the hitTest isn't very accurate. The line only satys there for one frame, so I can't have the usual moving-bullet-style. I am either looking for a way to create an imaginary line with AS from the starting point to the mouse and beyond, and tell whether or not this line intersects with an object... or some other way that I haven't thought of to fix my problem. Keep in mind that the line rotates from a center point towards anywhere around it for 360 degrees.
