View 1 RepliesThere is an Image control that when I click on it I need to zoom in (using the center/transform point where the mouse is clicked). I have the zoom transition working great, but when I set transformX & tranformY (with autoCenterTransform false) it doesn't zoom into that point.
Here is my code that only zooms in (not to a specific point)
<fx:Script>
<![CDATA[
protected function imgLogo_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
transformer.play();
} ]]>

I would like to create a component(extending from spark Panel), which upon a buttonclick should show up next to the button(something like a bubble popping up or like the small box opening up when hovering up on profile links in facebook/twitter). I tried to create a component that implements mx.core.IToolTip and provided the methods required by the interface. And on the toolTipCreate event, set this component as the tooltip.
This works to an extent. When I bring the mouse over the button, the panel appears as the tooltip and goes away when i move the mouse away. What I need is, the panel should appear next to the button when click on it and should go away only when I click outside the panel or click the close button present inside the panel.
I need to make a MovieClip rotate around it's center point to the left or right depending on mouse drag. I got some basic semblance of what i want going, but it's pretty hackish. Normally i calculate the angle and such but i only really need to use the distance the mouse travels and apply it to the movieclip and for flavor add some nice easing when you let go.
public function Main()
{
var wereld:MainScreen = new MainScreen();
addChild( wereld );

I'm trying to make a MC rotate on it's axis (registration point)...I want it to rotate both clockwise and counter-clockwise at random speeds and random degrees of rotation. For example...CW fast 90 degrees...then CCW slower for 150 degrees...then CW really fast for 270 degrees...etc..etc..
View 9 Repliesim having a bit of an issue with making a character walk to a position when the area is clicked (but i dont want them to move on the y scale, just the x). i dont want them to instantly move, i want them to (flip over if necessary) and play their walking animation as they walk to the clicked position.
View 1 RepliesI want a ship or something in the center of the stage and to be able to click and the thing will shoot at the mouse. I know how to get it to shoot at the angle. I just don't know how to get the rotation with the mouse. I can do it with keys but not with the mouse. What I need object rotates pointing to mouse...
View 2 RepliesI'm working on a tank game for my Flash class that has a cannon that's supposed to rotate with the mouse. Unfortunately I can't get the rotation to work properly.
Firstly the cannon does not follow the mouse in full 360 degrees and does this weird rubberbanding "bounce" back to a previous position. Secondly when it does follow it does so in the opposite direction in which the mouse is moved.
The cannon is a movie clip and nothing is put on the stage (this is done by the code itself). Everything is located in the library and all the coding is done through AS files.
My experience with coding in flash is minimal, the past couple of weeks being my first exposure to it, just to give you an idea where I stand. Below is the code for cannon.
package
{
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.events.Event;

I have ran into another problem, I have written the code for when I click on an enemy, it doesnt add a point to the score and it doesn't remove the enemy, I have a textfield which is called messageDisplay which is linked to the clickEnemy function.Here is the piece of code.
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickEnemy); function clickEnemy(event:MouseEvent):void { if(cursor.hitTestObject(enemyAppear)) { score++ messageDisplay.text = String(score); enemyAppear.parent.removeChild(enemyAppear); } } stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickEnemy);
i have mc with 10 objects instead of writting code for each i want same action prefermed on every clicked object with 1 code is there way to do it?
View 2 RepliesI have proper code to make objects rotate on an axis adjacent to the mouse. I also have proper code on how to make objects elastically bounce towards a specific x,y coordinate.
So far the code I have is for the object to follow the mouse when clicked. when the mouse is up, the objects (on a rotational axis) wind back to original position.
What I would like to do, is combine the formulas for rotation with the elastic formulas to bounce these objects back into place with rotational movement.

How do I make code which runs every time the mouse is clicked anywhere (not on any specific object) using AS1
View 1 Repliesi want to make a line with mouse movement and with bnlur effect i also want to save those point to reproduce that, i know how to make simple line with mouse and also able to reproduce it with the save point but not able to do blur effect with it

View 8 RepliesI trained on flashMX back in the day and haven't done anything since so now I've got CS5 it's a bit like being at school again! I have a circular dial sat in the middle of the screen with an arrow placed on it's edge. How do I get the dial to rotate so it always faces the mouse pointer?
View 7 RepliesI have recently followed a tutorial to make a movieclip in flash that makes buttons spin around a point depending on the mouse position. I have made my own version off this and would like to use it in a full flash website that i am making at the moment.
The only problem that i am having is with aligning this clip and as it is made up of script i cant physicly drag it to were i want it. I understand how to alighn this with x/y positioning but when i preview the flash in a web browser it is positioned correctly but then when i 'full screen' the browser this clip jumps about 4 inches down the page.
I have parent movieclip and in that many different children movieclips
What i want to do is when i CLICK, i want to detect which movieclip it has clicked and call corresponding function (defined by onpress event) of that movieclip.
The 3D rotation properties (rotationX, rotationY, rotationZ) all revolve around the objects registration point. Is there any trick to change where the rotation center is?
View 7 RepliesFrom the Robert Penner code given in this tutorial: [URL] i was wondering why controlx and controly has to be so complicated. I've tried changing it to just _root._xmouse but it messes up. I don't get this, shouldn't the curve point be the same point as the mouse?

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to rotate a point in my Canvas from a given point (center). In my MouseDown handler, I save the point where user click (oldPos), and in my MouseMove handler, I'm doing this:

// Where the user pointer right now

Is it possible to make a movie clip rotate about the center point of it using the ._rotation method?
View 1 Repliesi dont know the math to have a mc rotate around a central point by constricting to an arc..i have a circle and i want a mc to follow around the edge depending on the mouse position relative to the center of the circle...
View 2 RepliesI have a triangular symbol that I want to rotate on a transformation point (the pointy tip). The effect is supposed to be like Hollywood searchlights panning around (see pic below). I've done basic rotations with actionscript before, but a transformation point wasn't involved. How is this done? Is the transformation point determined manually on the stage or with actionscript?
View 1 RepliesI have designed a menu that When you mouse over it, a custom cursor appears. When you mouse down it disappears and when you mouse up it returns. If you happen to mouse down and then drag the mouse off of the menu (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up outside the menu, the custom cursor disappears. All good. The only issue is: If you happen to mouse down on the menu and then drag the mouse off of the menu AND off of the stage, i.e the SWF (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up completely off of the stage, the custom cursor appears at the point it left the menu. I have tried to fix this using MOUSE_LEAVE but this dosnt work when the mouse button is pressed down. I have attached an FLA, SWF and the AS below.
Code:
stop();
import com.greensock.*;
import com.greensock.easing.*;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;

This is one of the threads that was deleted. I've come up with the same problem: how do you go about dragging an object around a fixed point (rotation)?
I can do a normal drag & drop, but with this i don't even know where to start
How can i rotate a dynamic loaded picture around a point i define?
Now my pictures are rotating around the upper left corner, but thats wrong, i need it to rotate around the center.
