ActionScript 3.0 :: Tween Pukes If The Mouse Goes Too Fast?

Feb 18, 2009

I'm trying to teach myself ActionScript 3 and I've made amovie clip where on 'roll-over' and image fades in and on'roll-out' the image fades out. It works great as long as I movethe mouse slowly. But if I go too fast, it locks up on the fade inand doesn't realize the the roll-out has already happened.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Mouse Events Fail To Trigger If Mouse Move Too Fast?

Nov 18, 2009

It has been awhile since I have worked in flash.Right now I am working on something where I would like a panel to disappear when someone mouses off the stage.stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, leaveHandler); It usually works fine but if I move my mouse really fast it doesn't fire. I have also tried the same thing using a custom invisible button that surounds the perimeter of the stage and I have tried ROLL_OVER and MOUSE_OVERand again, if I do it too fast my event doesn't fire (I am using trace)I can't find anything on the net about this - is this typical of flash that if you move your mouse too fast you break it? Do I need to increase my frame rate (I would really rather not because I have perfectly timed animations - I am at 30 frames per second)

Professional :: Drop Down Menu's Don't Close With Fast Mouse Movement?

Jul 8, 2010

I am an extreme novice in Flash and I've built a drop down menu following a tutorial from YouTube - sadly this took me days! It functions BUT fast mouse movement away from the menu drop down seems to prevent the drop down menu from closing. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Second question - I know how to create text links but when I do this the text's position jumps down without me having told it to. So is there a way to apply a link to a button rather than the text in the button, and is it possible to also apply a link to a movie clip?[URL]...

ActionScript 2.0 :: [MX04] Playing A Sound When The Mouse Moves Fast?

Nov 14, 2008

The flash site I'm working on has an underwater theme, and I think it would be neat to have it make sort of "whoosh" sound when the mouse moves fast, like the sound that comes from moving your hand through water, and I was wondering if there was a way for actionscript to know when the mouse moves quickly. It's not comepletely neccessary, just something that would be cool and add to the underwater feel of the thing.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Tween On Mouse Event?

Nov 20, 2006

All it does is tween the x and y positions of a circle and textfield. I've tinkered with it a bit by putting the tween functions in a separate Tweener class and made it accept whatever display object is passed to it. For demonstration purposes, I have it set up so that the tweens occur as soon as the circle and textfield are created. The problem is that I would like the tweens to occur only when they are clicked on. I don't know how tp do this. How do I write _circle.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,... .) and _text.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, tweenerIt) so that they are the triggers?

var tween:Tween;
function clicks(e:MouseEvent):void {
var dx:Number = mouseX-mc.x;
var dy:Number = mouseY-mc.y;
var angle:Number = Math.atan2(dy,dx)*180/Math.PI+90;
tween = new Tween(mc,"rotation",null,mc.rotation,angle,5);

While this works fine, there are certain clicks which make the MC pick the longer route to rotate.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Clip Follow Mouse On Motion Tween?

Nov 3, 2009

I have a blank flash movie which has a circle drawn in the middle I then have a movie clip symbol called "star", it is basically a line drawing of a star Within the main movie, I have the "star" snapped to the circle so that I can make a "motion tween" to rotate the star around the circle. What I want to do, is make the "star" rotate around the circle but only doing it when the mouse cursor is being moved around the circle. So the "star" is following the mouse cursor, but the star should remain clipped to the curcle.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Get A Smooth Mouse Alpha Tween On The Button ?

Nov 5, 2009

I am playing around with AS3 and what I'm trying to do is pretty simple. I have a little test FLA: http:[url]......There is a button that when you scroll over it the alpha goes up to .90 and when you mouse off it it goes back down to .50 alpha.This is all controled by Tween in AS3. The 3 problems that I'm having are:

1) How to define a variable that that is a number that has a blank value like with a string its:

Code:
var test:String = "";

Right? But I have no idea how do do the same thing with a number var.

2) Next thing that I'm confused about it there a way to get a smooth mouse alpha tween on the button. Like as it currenlty is when you mouse over it goes from .50 to .90% alpha. See this isn't all that bad but if you mouse over the button again real fast before the tween goes back to .50 it looks like it get lighter really fast and then gets darker.

3) Finally when you click the replay button the button alpha jumps down to .50 no matter what. You have to actully mouse off and then mouse back on for it to go back up to .90 like it should be when your mouse is hovering on the button.

How can I wait for the initial background tween to end before I make the loader call to the .swf file.Currently each button's behavior is called on the MouseEvent.CLICK event which calls a function that knows its unique filename.swf. I know you can add the MOTION_FINISH even to the tween event but then I would have to call a new function and lose track of the button that initially called it.
