Is there any way to copy a folder with a bunch of layers and keyframes to a different flash project?
or in another way is there a way for me to save time and copy a work i have done on a different project and use it in a new, consisting a keyframed animation?
i have situation in which i have some library projects, say
"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..
what could be the possible errors.
I have a db file Resided in Flex Air Bindebug Folder,Here i want to Move/save this db File at another location let say In mydocument/or any Folder, I am not able to do it's programatically.

I have a load of layers which together form a map with animations that run on it. A static key with a few buttons runs the animations on the map. I need to pan/zoom this map and as such need to package all these layers that form the map up into something that can be referred to in the coding for the pan and zoom functions.
I created a new layer in my timeline, called it MapPanZoom, then went Insert>new>movieClip.
I now need to remove the maps layers from the timeline and into the timeline for the movieClip I just created. How is this done ?
Leaves behind the static key that sits outside of the map, when a button in the key is clicked, I hope to see it run the animation on the map, and have a user able to zoom and pan the map whilst it runs.
I tried selecting the layers then edit>copy, then opening MapPanZoom movieClip from Library and edit>paste, nothing happened. Planned to delete the layers if it had worked out of the original scene1.
Here in Flash CS4 Explorer, I have shapes. It's intuitive that I be able to right-click on Scene1, and be able to Insert Shape. Can't. I go to the frame. Can't. I right-click everywhere. I see 'Create Shape', but everywhere I see it, it's grayed out - won't let me.
How do I create new shapes in the graphics folder in the library of a flash cs4 project?
I have one Eclipse Workspace containing two projects. - The first is my actual library. - The second is example code for using the library.When I push this code to GitHub, I don't want two separate projects, I want the example code to go into an "example" folder of the second library.How and where would I do this? From Eclipse, GIT, or GitHub?Or is there a better way of including sample code in GitHub projects? (the example code doesn't actually need any version control)
View 1 RepliesI'm having an odd problem that I can't seem to resolve. I'm updating some old animations (created around 2004-2005). Most have gone without a hitch, however one file has been a problem.
First the specs: Windows 7 64bit, Master Collection CS5.5. All updated.
The problem with the file:
I can open it just fine, test the movie, etc. If I try to save the document, it fails, saying "Unable to save the document as...". I can save the file as a CS4 document, which seems to work OK. However, I need to move the contents into a new document. If I try to Copy the laters, Flash immediately crashes.
For my small flash required to make hidden some folders with layers or some layers separately. It is very handy. But I don't know how to do it.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to copy frames from 6 different layers along with the objects (action script, tween motions, buttons, graphic elements) from one movieclip to another. But once I do that, everyhting seems to be shifted and if I try to reposition the items in the new clip, it seems like I would have to repeat after every keyframe for each layer.
So my question is A. Is there a way to duplicate a movie clip but give it a instance name (an entirely new movieclip with the same frames and layers in the same position as the previous)?
B. How can I move mutliple objects across layers and keyframes?
Is it possible to use pause/resume function to this??

I'm hoping to produce a CD of Captivate lessons to be accessed via a Flash menu. (Using Flash CS4, but with ActionScript 2). I can get the files to work from the disc, but as they are large files, they take less time to open if downloaded onto the user's machine first.
Is it possible to use some ActionScript to take the folder of files and copy them onto the desktop so that I can then point the menu items to the newly copied folder? I've seen that there is a download option in ActionScript but this seems to bring up a dialogue box and allows the user to place the files wherever they want. Ideally I'd like the process to be automatic.

View 1 RepliesIs there a way to duplicate the project and work on the copy? It's critical that I don't screw-up the original. But, I'd like to make major changes to the copy. I tried making a copy of the project and renaming it. But, when I try to import the copy into Flex Builder, it says: "A project with the same name already exists in your workspace. Rename or delete the existing project." -- even though I renamed the project file and the main mxml file. Unfortunately, I don't have a subversion program set-up, and I think that it will be a hassle to do so. Is there an easy way to work on a copy of a project?
View 1 RepliesI'm working on an image gallery in Flash that plays a slideshow of different images I have on my hard drive. I've got the basics of it working, but I'm still stuck on something. If my images are in the same folder as the Flash project file or a sub-folder of it, then it works fine. However, I can't figure out how to load images from some other folder. In my case, the Flash project is located at "~/Programming/Flash/Projects/slideshow/" and the images I want to load are at "~/Pictures/Gallery/". Using a normal path didn't work so I figured I could access them with a file:// path, but that doesn't work either gives me "Error #2035: URL Not Found"). Is there a specific way you have to format the file path in Flash, or is it just not possible?

View 2 RepliesMe and my buddy is having a huge problem. It seems like we have hit a limit in how many assets (movieclips/sounds etc) that we can have in our library. We can export at the moment, but if we put in another cutscene or sound flash wont export. It shows the progress bar but when its done the .swf dosent show up and cannot be found in the project folder.
Does anyone have a clue on whats going on? We've been working on this game for the past 5 months (full time) and we'd be devastated if all our time and effort has been in vain.
I'm currently looking at structuring my teams projects into a consistent manner that properly utilises packages and is easily version-controlled (via SVN). I'm interested in any 'best practise' with regards to project structuring and how to use consistent packaging without lumping everything into a gigantic [URL] folder structure whilst maintaining that package structure. I'm also keen to use the src/bin/lib folder structure within each project.

A web channel streaming service streams to a certain IP range, it only checks the IP in example.com/cmd.php?id=xxx (channel number) and outputs an rtmpe stream URL, nothing else.How do I trick it to get my local URL instead of the one on their server? I have considered squid proxy, but is there some way to do it with a firefox plugin or greasemonkey script?
Edit:I will try to specify:It's a streaming service from an ISP and cable provider. They stream for free to people on their IP's. On their webtv page, which is called webtv.example.com, there is a flash player. If you are not on an IP from their ISP, you can't stream anything but the test channel.When you try to change channel via. javescript:videoplayer_changechannel(xxx) it makes this HTTP request:

If you are on one of their IP's you will get an RTMP URL, like this:
[URL]
This is what the flash player requests, and if it get's this response it load the channel requested. There is no HTML on the php page, just the URL. Note that the rtmp URL is static.If you are not on one of their IP's it will return a random sentence (something stupid, the programmers having fun).I wan't to trick the flash player into getting the right value, even though it's not on one of the ISP's IP's.
i am trying to create a flash movie for my browser page. i am able to import and export the movie just fine, the problem comes after i export the movie. As long as i leave the flash file in the folder it was created in things work great. If i try to move the folder or rename the folder it stops working. It acts like it cant find the flv file i created the flash with. if i rename or move the folder back where it was created things work fine.

I adjust a bitmap image and then when you play the movieclip, right when it hits another keyframe it shows the old position instead of the new. How can I update all images on the stage including all the keyframes?
