I have a slideshow .swf file. When I load it into my website it shrinks it. Why?This is the embed code
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="550" height="165" align="right" id="FlashID" title="diapo4">

How can I create in ActionScript a singleline textfield that automatically shrinks the textsize so that whatever string shall be displayed fits within the size of the textfield?
View 2 RepliesI'm currently working on a project using FLVPlayback Components. I'm having this issue: The user launches the page, the Component loads fine. They play the video and click the "FullScreen" button. The video launches nicely in fullscreen by using this code
[Code]....
When the user hits esc. or exits fullscreen, they come back to the movie and see that it has shrunk and moved over a few pixels. It doesnt move the entire SWF, just the component. I assume it has something to do with the "else" line. Let me know if you can be of some assistance. Linked please find my FLA and a link to the page where the issue occurs.
On the homepage [URL] I had a previously installed .swf that works fine on IE, Firefox etc...I added a new .swf "testimonials" on the page on right hand side but it will only work in IE?

I have updated the flash file on my page.In IE its showing the latest one.But in firefox the previous file only reflecting...Any other plugins for java, flash should I download for firefox?
View 4 RepliesThe player is meant to retrieve the mp3 file from the server through the path address that is stored in MySQL. It does this in Explorer but not in Firefox. By the way the swf file of the player and the database is stored on the same server so there should be no problem with that.

how to make moving objects leave a "ghost" impression of itself behind that automatically shrinks and turns invisible. I've managed to get the original particles to drop, but now I'm looking for a way to get the particles to actually leave disappearing non-moving prints behind them.
View 2 RepliesFirefox throws the flash file out of it's container? The page behaves correctly in IE8 (32bit). I posted in DW forums who suggested it was a flash issue and not DW. [URL]
View 10 Repliesi'm trying to play external videos using netStream.
My script work fine with .flv files, but with .f4v it doesn't work with Firefox (i've tried versions 3.6 and 4): I get NetStream.Play.FileStructureInvalid
F4v files was exported using Media Encoder from Premiere.
Here's a part of my code:
ncConnection = new NetConnection(); ncConnection.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler); ncConnection.addEventListener(SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR, securityErrorHandler);

I'm trying to perform a file upload using a FileReference from a Flex app running in Firefox 4. However when I attempt to call the upload() method, the Filereference throws an IOError with the following Error #2038: File I/O Error. URL: [URL] If I don't explicitly add a listener for the IOErrorEvent, then I get a Flash player popup stating SecurityError: Error #2000: No active security context.
The request doens't even hit my server (I can verify by placing breakpoints in the Java code and watching the HTTP Requests that go out using HTTPFox), so it seems to me that this is a client side issue (right?). I've done some searching for the problem on google and the suggestions included wrapping the upload() call in a timeout/callLater, and attempting to attach the sessionId to the request (since Firefox creates a new thread for the upload and doesn't attach the proper cookies). Neither of these approaches has worked for me. I don't experience this problem with Internet Explorer, only Firefox.

I'm attempting to bring a swf file down to Firefox to cache but not actually execute. The swf comes from a different domain.
The following approach works in Chrome but not Firefox:
new Image().src = "www.other.com/foo.swf";
Firefox uses a separate cache for images.
This approach works in IE, but not Firefox:
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" data="www.other.com/foo.swf" declare="1"></object>
The "declare" tells the browser to cache but not execute it. However, Firefox complains that the request is cross-domain.
works perfect on my macbook pro (safari, firefox, and opera) but when I view the site on Vmare Fusion Windows XP and use IE and FireFox the pages don't load... I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone hear or seen anything like this happen before? BTW the website was created in Adobe Flash CS4/ AS 3.0 and published using Flash Player 10.
View 2 RepliesI have a flash that I took out of a template to customize. (I'm using CS4). Same size, hell mostly the same file with small changes. None of the changes were to the file height or width.I have looked all over the code, checked all my spacing/padding/etc, and went line by line through the code and it's identical...I preview it in IE and it's fine. Everything matches. I preview it in FF, and there is about a 10-15px gap b/t the header and the body. I am at the end of my rope! The rest of the site is just about ready to go live, and I can't do that until I figure this out.

View 2 RepliesI have a basic site for an old age home. Recently I decided to put a Flash Movie on the Homepage but even though all files are loaded and links correct it won't show in either IE or Firefox...
The movie should be loading here (...bellvilleseniorsentrum.com/engels/home.html)
There is a white space where the movie should be loading... But it doesn't...
I've done lots of sites with the same kind of movies and they all work fine... But this ons just doesn't work. It views fine when I test it on my computer but as soon as I load it - nothing...
I have a simple xml file that I'm using to load images.[code]I'm using the name of the base tag as the name of the nav to load the images. So from the xml above the nav button would be "travel & lifestyle".I know flash removes the whitespace but what if I want whitespace there.The xml won't load and I get an error loading the xml file into Firefox"XML Parsing Error: not well-formed"How can I format the xml to keep the space.
View 2 RepliesI have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows
mysound = new Sound();
mysound.loadSound("voice1.mp3");
mysound.start(0,0);
It works well in IE but not in Firefox.

I have a strange dilemn and the 3D feature in Flash CS4 seem to be the most obvious connection to the problem. I have a page with 2 different swf files ( both under 50KB), which use the satay method. One works perfectly, and the other struggles to work. The pixels are magnified, the 3D animation scales incorrectly, and moves very slowly. Eventually the browser crashes and the whole operation goes down.

I made a swf file and embed it in my website.It displays properly in the mozilla firefox but not in my google chrome.Is this problem related to the browser or the way that I embeded my swf file.
View 1 RepliesIs there a work around to the getURL Firefox issue? I am having trouble getting Firefox to open my file from my exe when FF is set to my default browser. If FF is already open, the getURL functions fine. If FF is closed, I have to click on my button twice in order to open the file (ie, click once opens a blank window, click again and the file opens) I have FF 2.0.0.1, Flash MX 2004 Prof. I have tried setting an interval to have the getURL fire again but I can't seem to get it to work.

I have a file upload script to upload pictures to a server. It has been working fine in all browsers but when I upgraded the flash player to 10.1 in firefox 3.6.6 yesterday it stop working.I retested with another computer and as soon as i installed the flash player 10.1 it stopped working.I did some debbuging and noticed that the error return from the FileReference listener is I/O error.It doesnt make sense because the file is in the server and it works fine in all other browsers.I changed allowScriptAccess from "samedoamin" to "always" without luck. it works perfect in other flash player versions.the HTML that embeds the movie:

i have created a photo gallery using AS3 in Flash CS5. I have used prevFrame() and nextFrame() actions for "previous photo" and "next photo" buttons as well as for "previous thumbnails" and "next thumbnails" buttons.
All the buttons work fine when i run the swf files as well as when i run the swf files in Firefox 8.0 and IE9. However, once I insert this swf file into my html file using Dreamweaver CS5->Insert->Media->swf, the "previous" buttons dont work in Firefox 8.0! the previous image button works sometimes whereas the previous thumbnails button does not work at all They work fine in IE9. The next buttons also work fine in every browser. Heres my code:

View 1 RepliesI have run into a problem with the URLLoader that I havent encountered before. I have reviewed my code several times and maybe I am missing something.
Basically, I have a separate loader class that I want to communicate to a php file located in the same directory. That php file forms an xml markup within and returns the location of a background image from the database. As you can see from the code, I have event listeners for progress, loaded, and IOerror.
This works fine in IE and Chrome. However in FF and Opera, my custom progress bar shows 100%, but the info bar shows "IO Error" (which is kind of a visible trace statement on the swf for informational purposes) and it does not go anywhere.
This is the swf's location: [URL]

I've hit a brick wall here. I have a Flash file that displays fine in IE. It also displays fine when ran as a SWF. However, in FireFox, it does not display my scroller. I developed the Scroller component dynamically... everything is drawn from scratch, no library movieClips, etc. I'm starting to think that could be the cause? I've tried many different things:

I developed the Scroller component dynamically... everything is drawn from scratch, no library movieClips, etc. I'm starting to think that could be the cause? I've tried many different things: Changed the HTML code to bare bones embedding code.Recompiled in Flex.... same result!Tested on another computer... it worked fine! However, I tested on another computer with FireFox... same problem.
It's so weird.I seperated the Image Slide show component from the Scroller... the scroller had the same effect... didn't display in FF.Played around with WmodeChecked my code for addChild problems, visibilty, alpha properties... nothing out of the ordinary.Asked God.Drank some Gin.Took a break and came back to it.I've reseached Google and the most I could come up with is to compile using FP10. It is FP10. I'm using CS3 and FlashDevelop. When I right click on my Flash file, it does indeed display FP10. Same with Flex.
